- Lake Louise Ski Resort - Is it worth it?
Join us for a video tour of Lake Louise Ski Resort. In this video, we show all of the lifts, the terrain they serve, and the scenery!
We visited Banff National Park's largest of "the Big 3" ski resorts on February 8, 2023. Lake Louise Ski Resort is expansive at 4250 acres! The resort offers all levels of terrain for every skiing ability. The views from every lift are incredible! This video is about discovering Ski Louise resort. The video was filmed in 4K using an Insta360 x3, and other camera equipment. We hope you enjoy the video and find it helpful if you are planning a trip. A friend of mine recently said "The Canadian Rockies are to BE SEEN"...I agree! And, I'll add - to be skied.

what a great video
Thank you! Appreciate you watching and commenting!
Wow, nicely done sir, what an amazing place.
Thank you. The Canadian Rockies are spectacular - I love being in them in the summer and winter!
Excellent video, I’m going next weekend for the first time and I feel way more informed after watching this. Thanks!
Super excited for you! Lake Louise and Sunshine Village in Banff are two of the most scenic ski resorts I’ve found in North America! Have a great time! Sincerely, James Duke
Thanks for your contribution. Great content! Heading to Lake Louise and Banff in a week.
Enjoy! So beautiful there. We have put the skis away and are sailing across the Atlantic to hike in Europe for the Spring.
Beautiful mate. I love the emergency scenery stop - gotta stop and smell the roses or in this case take in the mountains!
So true! As I’ve aged it’s become more about the experience than the total vertical feet per day ;-)
Great video man. I absolutely love snowboarding lake louise.
Thank you. Especially fun on powder days!
When the cold snaps come to western Canada it is always colder and lasts longer in Alberta vs B.C. It can get brutal cold in Banff in mid winter so it is best skied in March and April. They even offer a Spring Season Pass.
Going to Banff in 2 weeks with my kids during their spring break. Thank you for this wonderful video that gives me some visual effect that pictures and maps alone can not give me. We have Ikon passes, so we are visit the other two ski resorts, too.
You are welcome. I’m hopeful these videos will help people really get a feel for the resorts and help them enjoy the first few days more so than having to figure it out. I also used the Ikon as well as the Mountain Collective. Have a great time!
@@markchristohperowen6806 Thanks Mark! I’ve not been to Whistler.
Great little vid - Is it worth it? Of course it is!
Thank you. Enjoy the rest of winter!
How do you get from Lake Louise or Banff to the ski lifts? Are there shuttle busses or anything like that? Didn’t find some information about that
I have not used the bus service as I’m always in my private vehicle, but I’ve seen the free buses dropping people off at both ski resorts from Banff. Here are the links to the free shuttle service: www.skibanff.com/getting_here ; www.skilouise.com/getting-here/
Hope this information helps!
Sincerely,
James
How does everyone here like Banff/Lake Louise/Sunshine compared to Aspen? I'm curious about terrain and the towns too.
Hi SnowManD, I’ll give you my perspective and hopefully others will add more perspectives. I have not skied at Aspen, but have spent time skiing about 20 other Colorado resorts including (Vail, Steamboat, Breckenridge, Copper, Telluride, Durango,
Etc.). To me, the two primary things I like about Lake Louise and Sunshine vs anywhere I’ve skied in the US is being right in the rugged peaks of the Canadian Rockies, and almost no crowds in comparison to US resorts. Lake Louise doesn’t really have a town - It’s 40 minutes north of Banff. Banff is an amazing town with plenty of bars, restaurants, culture, etc. it takes about 20 minutes to get from Banff to Sunshine village. Both Lake Louise and Sunshine have double black terrain, as well as a good mix of intermediate and expert terrain.
You should have spent most of the Day on goats eye fast chair best gldes and fewer flats if you book it its 8 mins up on the chair and 2 and a 1/2 minutes down for 1500 ft of vertical😊
Goats Eye is one of my favorites on a clear day!
Did you camp? Or hotel it.
We camped at Banff Tunnel Mountain II and Lake Louise RV parks. Both places have power at the RV site, warm shower houses and bathrooms, fresh water and dump stations available.
The goat is one of the few lifts in the world that you can do 90000+ ft of vert in a day😅
Love Goat’s Eye at Sunshine!
I cant belive this place is still in operation. Worst mountain next to Kananaskis! The front side is at best a skating rink, the back side can be hit or miss!
And Sunshine? Just got of it today. What do you think of Marmot Basin, Jasper? From where I live Lake Louise and Marmot Ski Resorts are both the same distance far away: 4h 30 minutes.
I really enjoy skiing Marmot. I did a RUclips on it - It’s smaller than Sunshine and Lake Louise, but worth it!
