  • Chamonix Brevent Flegere Ski Resort - Is it worth it?
    Join us for a video tour of Chamonix Brevent Flegere Ski Resort. In this video, we show all of the lifts, the terrain they serve, and the scenery!
    Skiing in Chamonix has been on my bucket list for over 20 years! In this video, I skied the two ski areas directly accessible out of Chamonix and Les Praz. I didn't know what to expect, and I'll admit, I was a little worried looking at the ski area maps and reading that Green runs in Europe is the same as Green in the USA - Same with Blue, but I've read a lot that the Red Runs in Europe are more like Black runs in the USA, and Black runs here are very difficult... I skied all the colored runs at the Brevent and Flegere ski areas, and I think you will see on the video - if you area a strong intermediate skier like me - these runs are FUN! The scenery is unlike anything I've ever experienced! The Alps are literally "right-there" as if you could reach out and touch them. As I edited this video, the beauty of it all brought tears to my eyes. Thank you IKON for including Chamonix, France as one of the ski locations! I have totally loved my seven-free ski days here. We also produced a Chamonix ski video for Balme ski area, hired a guide for back country skiing down glaciers, as well as a video on the "famous little red cog train that accesses the glacier and tunnels, and our time at the top of Aiguille du MIDI!

    I just love your video man. Thanks for sharing. Shots and editing are great. What I liked the most though is really just you, going solo, just enjoying the moment, the nature, the opportunity, just being present and just hopping around the mountain and just taking everything in as they unfold before you. Love it.

    Loved the video, we used to to live down the valley towaards Geneva, I've skied tose runs so many times, and it was great to see them captured on video (No GoPro or insta360 in my day). I really like how you use the ski map to orient the lifts and runs, very effective. Many thanks.

      Yes! You can ride the Brevent Gondola and Brevent Tram to the top up and back down without skiing. The Flegere gondola is the same, but only goes to the Flegere lodge - not to the top.

    Thank you so much man! I am going to Chamonix on January 13 and I'm a little worried about the location I chose for the accommodation. We are close to Brevent, but I am worried about being too far from the rest of the stations, which one you recommend the most.? Do you know if there is a good connection with Les Grandes Montets, for example? Thank you in advance, I really love your videos!!

    • @YouDecideIsItWorthIt

      We stayed at La Folie Douce Hotel right near Brevant. There is a great free bus service throughout the Chamonix valley which we used to get to the other Stations. For scenery and experience, Brevant and Flegere were my favorites. Les Grands-Montets would be my 2nd favorite, and for easier skiing but a little less scenic Balme ski area is my 3rd pick. Hope you have a great time! They should have a lot of snow vs when I was there. Appreciate you watching and commenting. Sincerely, James Duke

    Would you say there is a large difference between their blue runs? Were some blues more difficult than others? I am a progressing beginner, but need to build up confidence for steeper bits of piste.

    • @YouDecideIsItWorthIt
      @YouDecideIsItWorthIt  8 месяцев назад +1

      I felt like Brevent and Flegere Blue ratings were fairly consistent as far as pitch. There were differences in width of the blue trails - some wide pistes and others more narrow more like a cat track.

      Thank you. Excited for you to get to ski Chamonix! The black Chamonix runs were very similar in pitch to black runs in the USA and Canada. We skied Chamonix with our IKON pass and just went to the closest ticket booth to pick up their RFID card. We had a ticket booth outside our hotel (La Folie Deuce Hotel). Also, all of the buses were free to transport to the various resorts. Ou hotel was at the base of Brevent so we skied it and Flegere from there. Have a great time!
