Hey JoJo, I am going to keep showing the garden!! It's been quiet in terms of growing and so noisey from the construction that is going on near by 🚧 but I will do regular updates on the garden and the allotment throughout the season!! 🥰🌷
Hey Laura! 🙋🏻♀️ That was hard getting the chicken wire up…wow! Impressed! Your allotment is taking shape quickly. Your broad beans look great as do all your seedlings. Your progress is encouraging! See you later Laura. Take care my friend, Cindy 🫶🏼😘
Hey Cindy!! It was so difficult, I momentarily questioned my life's decision to get a plot half way through lifting it 🤣 as soon as it released from the ground, I was back on track! Thank you for the lovely words 🥰take good care and I will see you next week!🤗💖
Thank you George ☺️ just like I am slowly getting around the plot! We are might be getting a bit of nice weather this weekend and I might be able to get my pumpkins out!
Bless you Laura you really are going for it. It's great to see you are enjoying doing the growing thing personally for me as well as my training I think growing is another form of mental health therapy once you start you get carried away with it.

Thank you Tina! I am documenting it all the way! Everytime Roo comes up after I've done a bit she gets all confused and has to sniff everywhere 🤣 on wards from here!! 🥰💖
I get lost with a seed box but another gardener on here said about using photo albums to store them like a seed library and it's helped me keep track of my seeds much better! I just got a cheap kids ring binder type one and it has loads of pockets. Really useful.
I get lost in my seed box too 📦 I thought changing seed box would help but its just bigger and I can fit more things inside 🤪 the worse is when a packet is the wrong way around and all the seeds fall out!! 🥲 Ring binder idea sounds like a low profile good idea 👏 thank you!! 🤗
Channel is growing leaps and bounds Laura 🎉🎉🎉. How wonderful to get sowing again it’s such an uplifting feeling. I have done some but not loads and I have to get outside and sort some compost. Have an amazing week ahead stay safe, Ali 🌧️🇨🇦
Hey Ali!! So many new faces here on the channel, beyond grateful 🤗💖 It feels so good to be sowing seeds again and seeing the sprout is so exciting! I can't wait to be able to make my own compost. I hope you have a lovely rest of your day and I will catch you soon!! 🥰
When I took on an allotment, I ended up digging all the beds out and hand sifting the weeds out. I had to buy a new shovel for this, but Wilkinson Sword Ultralight Digging Spade and my SOFIALXC Garden Weeding Tool - Stainless Steel were a game changer for me. I only use them a few times a year now, but they are still my favourite tools and I would not be without them.

Hello Laura, your seedlings are really coming on well, and no dig bed are a brilliant way to get your allotment started for planting, keep going your doing so well, Tracy 😊
Hey Tracey, I'm thrilled only a week and the chillies are starting tonpole through 😀 I was worried I was a bit late sowing them to be honest but I'm catching up!! I hope this no dig approach works, I am thinking... is it too good to be true haha 🤣🤣
Hi Laura It's amazing how much your allotment space changes every time you work it🙂 your tiny garden is coming along well, and I am pleased your plum tree has started budding. My orchard trees are still sleeping, ha ha. Your seedlings are doing well . Don't you just love watching the whole process of germination to plant to fruiting to harvest. It never gets old for me 🙂 Have an excellent week Laura and look forward to your next video ❤
Hey Julie 👋 I love the first blossoms on the plum tree. I would love one day to have my own orchard with apples and pears 🤩I love watching the seedlings germinate so much that I have been leisurely staring at the bare soil, waiting! Have a lovely day, catch you in the next one!! 💖
Thank you so much Nichola 🤗You got a new plot, that is so cool! It such a chore isn't but it looks so good after you done and your future self will thank you! Wishing you the best of luck with your new growing space I hope this season is a good one!! 💖
Nice one Laura that was one hell of a job pulling up that stupid Chicken Wire, and also i love that foot work of yours in getting it all up. Just think of what it's going to look like when it's all done, your sitting outside your shed with a cuppa or glass and seeing how good your Veggies are growing. One more thing have you thought of Wood Chip between your beds for your footpaths? I think it would look alot better and more neater than grass but hey it's your plot not mine. Take Care. Barry (the Wirral, ENG)xx
Hey Barry! SUCH hard work getting that wire up, I don't want to look at another piece of it 🤣 needs must and the steel toe cap was the only tool for the job!! I took your advise starting at the furthest point working towards the shed, the bags of mulch only got heavier 🤣🤣 I cannot wait for a little cheeky glass of wine or a crisp beer in the height of summer. It's going to be bliss! I did think grass pathways only for the fact I have wood chip at home and it would be something different and I like the idea of being able to walk around the plot in the summer with no shoes on and be comfy! Nothing is set in stone as of yet and most people do have wood chip!! So many choices 😅xx
Hi Lynn, you're very welcome! Thank you for subscribing! I used to holiday to Carmarthenshire with my aunty when I was small, it was a long drive but I loved it! Thank you for the lovely words and i am delighted to have you join along for the journey! 🥰🙌x
Yes I have just downsized from a 20 by 20 plot asours closed and now have to learn tiny garden and container skills which I've been horrible about in the past. So I'd like to see still at least one video a week on tiny garden and how many ever else on allotment.
We can learn to tiny garden together! I have a few projects this week to do there, and I plan to do regular updates on both ! So sad that the plot closed 😔 but there is still SO much to grow in a tiny space you got this!! 🙌
I’m so excited for you and your new allotment! I got my first one finally in 2020 and I have been loving it :) Looking forward to seeing what you do with all the extra space! 😊
Time is flying up at the plot, lots of lifting and shifting but I can see it starting to take shape! Appreciate the support, I am keeping my fingers crossed I did enough to keep the roots under that cardboard at bay!!
Great job Laura😊 l to sowed my carrots and parsnips the other day.. Couldn't wait any longer.. Thank you for sharing your progress on your allotment journey you have worked so hard, I'm sure if roo was with you she would of helped spread the compost out, take care😊
Hey Kerrie!! 🥰 You sowed them too, wahoo!! It was such a sunny morning, it wasn't till later that evening I thought maybe I had jumped the gun 🥕😃 Roo would have been in her element amongst the smelly mulch! I didn't bring her this time, she had been recovering from an abscess on her side and I wanted to give it time to heal! She wasn't happen I left her at home that's for sure! xx
Wow.. that chicken wire! No wonder you were kicking at it. So frustrating, as it’d have been so easy to just tidy away and not let it grow into the ground over the years, by previous tenant. You’re making such progress. Look at all the stuff you’ve cleared off the plot. Shocking. Does the committee help you remove that, if the previous tenant doesn’t return? I hope so! Seeds looking great. I’ve been dithering over weather to sow parsnips myself. Soooo indecisive. Can’t wait to see this plot come fully to life. The first beds going in are such a buzz. ❤
🤣🤣 I wasn't strong enough to pull up the wire so needs must and I kicked it!! I must ask around next time I am up there, I am not sure what the story is. The electronics the dump will take for free the old bits of scrap will be easy enough but the bulky frames and big items I have no idea🫣 Give it a whirl, you can always so more! So excited to get planting Clare a few weeks and last frost should be gone!! 💖🥰
@@thetinygarden_ it’s ridiculously exciting isn’t it? I’m literally bubbling over with anticipation for the season. Really excited to see your plot come alive too. You’re working so hard on it. Good news that a lot of the junk can be picked up.
Lovely update, Laura 🤗 Nice to see the chickenwire being cleaned up..... you kicking it with your boot 🤭🤭 the couch grass was no match to this treatment 😂 Have a great week! Maiju 💚🌿
Thanks guys! The chicken wire was stubborn to say the least! Two beds in feels like a win, I really hope this cardboard mulch approach works, they have some really tough roots! Thank you both for your support!! 💖🤗see you next week!
Going to be fab when it's done, take ya time & enjoy it😊, my seeds are growing nicely now, although there's more to be sown yet lol, tulips are coming up lovely too, i was late putting them in so i was very happy to them. See you next time & thanks for sharing 😊 xx
Thanks Carol! I am loving it so far, I have so much more to sow as well. I have all my seed packets I just need to start them off! It always feels like a total win when something comes through when you don't follow the rules! See you next week, have a lovely day! 💖xx
Sabrina when can I come round for dinner!! That is how my dad would make the spuds for me and I just love them. We usually get our queens from a grower in Wexford we live so close we can get a fresh supply, real Irish butter (almost in equal quantities to the bit of potato) simply divine!! 😋💖
Hey Debbie 👋 I wish you could too 🤣, I have more chicken wire to remove this weekend it's never-ending! It was such a workout getting it up off the ground! 🥵💪
Hey Amir, I love my little home garden 🤗 it's definately a little microclimate! It's a lot of physical work at the minute but I am hoping it will be worth it and I get bountiful harvests in years to come!! A wheelbarrow wouldn't go a miss 😆
You are right Elizabeth! I didn't see it at first,.but looking back on it I can see them and the very next day I had about 10 burst through the soil! Those are the bell peppers I saved from a shop bought pepper last year, I hope they fruit! 🤞🤗
I am so happy for you, your channel is doing amazingly since you have taken on your plot! That’s fantastic! I am not surprised because you are just lovely! Your light set up is doing great, your seedlings are thriving! I like your cane frame for the broad beans. Perfect spot for a compost bay. Yeah, you bought the same compost as us, I found there is nothing wrong with it! Your first beds on your allotment! Hurray🎉🎉😄👍💕🌸
Thank you Nanou, honestly I am so grateful, it really is way more than would I could have imagined, you have been here supporting me along way from the very beginning, thank you 🥰 I hope the frame is big enough, these broad beans get a bit chunky! I am so looking forward to making compost haha I was a bit unsure after laying the beds but I saw you and Grinch putting down that massive amount of mulch on the new plot and I though well if Nanou does it like that than I should be on the right track!!! 🤗😘xx
The plot is coming right along. My Aji Mango chili is up and at 'em too.....but the paprika is still a no show. It's always an amazing almost deflating mess, before it becomes anything special. You're making fast progress.
Hey Robin, that is awesome! Be interesting to see how our crops fair throughout the season, your warm summer might be an advantage!!! Haha most certainly moments of deflation but with time and care it will be a magical place ✨️ 😄 🤗
Hi Laura I watched a few tiny garden vids but you got an allotment pretty much same time as me so , looking forward to see how you do things, it’s my first year so I am clueless . Keep the great content coming 🎉👍
Haha we can be clueless together on our allotments! It's so exciting thought isn't it? Keep positive, it can be physically tiring, but the harvests later in the year will be worth all the effort you're putting in now 💪 🙌 take lots of photos to remind and yourself how well your are progressing!! Good luck with it!
Yeah it’s exciting , and very addictive, made a plan and got a area sorted as a poly house , in-between a tunnel and greenhouse so potting up in their . I been keeping a blog of my progress . I am trying to make a hot composter for free out of what ever I can get hold of . Fingers crossed it gets warm . Looking forward to next video see how you getting on . Good luck 👍
Thank you!! They aren't actually grow lights 🙈 it's a small studio light I used for filming in the kitchen (I have no natural light in there!) I thought I would try use what I had on hand than be buying more!!
Hi Laura 🤗 Awww your sweet peas are looking fantastic… as are your other seedlings 🌱 Your doing great work on the allotment…. Come summer it will be buzzing and beautiful 🌼🌺 🐝 Love the little bits in the secret Santa box, such a lovely gift. Take care 👩🌾🥔🌱🌷
Thank you so much Katie! 😊 I wasnt sure are they leggy, they are nice and green and are growing straight. I have room to top up the pots with more soil so I might do that! Can't wait till end of July early August you know that lull when you have everything planted and you're waiting for everything to ripen! That time of year is going to feel like total bliss I think! 😊 the secret santa box I full to the brim with all sorts of unual varieties so greatful, gardening friends are the best!! 🥰xx
@@thetinygarden_ my sweet peas are about the same Laura…. I’ve been seeing people take them outside under cover…. apparently it slows them down a little and the light benefits them, once the leaves come they pinch out for a bushier plant, I’ve not tried that before so need to look into it. Yes🤗 I’m with you there… July and August is the best ❤️ ohhhh and October when you can eat roasted pumpkins/ pumpkin soup … yummy 😋 🌱🌼🌷🍓
Hello Laura i can see a few more chilli’s popping up 😊 u missed them. Love that you are using my favourite farmyard manure. it’s my go to for mulching my beds
Hey Stella!! 👋 only when I looked back on the footage I thought maybe there are a few more!! And today there is definitely a few on the row of home saved seed (from a store bought pepper so no idea if they will produce or not!) I used this manure last year for the first time and its so well broken down you can plant near enough straight into it, i love it too 🙌🌱🌶
Grass is the worst thing to pull out by hand. It's tiring and fingers get sore by the end of the day from yanking it and pulling it out. You're doing a wonderful job 😃😃👍👍🦘🦘💖💖Cheryl
Hey Cheryl, I know 🥵 that wasn't my original plan until I saw the chicken wire wedged in there! The gloves were thick thankfully but you could feel it for sure!! Hopefully no more chicken wire is on the ground! 😅💖
Clicked like before I even watched it 🌿 love your videos 🌼🪻🌷 Ive also got chillies popping up am using a set of 5 trays with lights which I bought from Amazon they were about £10 and are working brilliantly 🌶️ love from Whitby 🌱
Hey Helena 👋 thank you so much, I had a big smile on my face reading that!! 🤗🥰 that's great news on the chillies and 10 quid is a bargain!! I have so much more sowing to do! 🤭
@@thetinygarden_ you are very welcome 😄 I’m looking to make a new video tomorrow but the weather is so wet now think it’s gonna have to be a sow with me style video. Fingers crossed for a nice warm march 🤞🏻
I did hear that and tried it on my over wintered bulb onions! They aren't bulbing yet but tgey are just super long. I think I need to move them 🤔 or feed them... they're Japanese variety that you start off in late summer early autumn 🍂 😅 but not much info out there on them! Thank you for the tip!!
Hey Pauline 👋 the cloches are from Elho I got mine in Woodies but think most garden centres stock it. It's actually the top that raised black planter I have up near the gate in the garden but you can buy each peice separately!
Can you explain what an allotment is and do you buy it or rent it or is it free. I live in Georgia USA and we don't have that here that I know of. How far is it from your home?
Hey Dennis 👋 of course, you're not the first person to ask! I am learning that they are super common in Ireland and the UK but not so much outside of that! It's a small plot of land that you rent and can turn into your garden to grow vegetables and flowers! Different sites have different rules, for my site, I can have chickens, structures and make fires to cook or keep warm! I am about 15-20 minute drive from the allotment. There are allotments walking distance from where I live, but they are at maximum capacity!
I hope you keep showing your tiny garden too! I have both kinds of space and want lots of inspiration! 🎉
Hey JoJo, I am going to keep showing the garden!! It's been quiet in terms of growing and so noisey from the construction that is going on near by 🚧 but I will do regular updates on the garden and the allotment throughout the season!! 🥰🌷

Yes they do love the heat. @@thetinygarden_
Good luck 👍
Looking into getting some new growlights i havnt seen any like the ones you are using. Loved them no dig beds too
Thank you!! They aren't actually grow lights 🙈 it's a small studio light I used for filming in the kitchen (I have no natural light in there!) I thought I would try use what I had on hand than be buying more!!
Hi Laura 🤗
Awww your sweet peas are looking fantastic… as are your other seedlings 🌱
Your doing great work on the allotment…. Come summer it will be buzzing and beautiful 🌼🌺 🐝
Love the little bits in the secret Santa box, such a lovely gift.
Yes🤗 I’m with you there… July and August is the best ❤️ ohhhh and October when you can eat roasted pumpkins/ pumpkin soup … yummy 😋
🌱🌼🌷🍓
Hello Laura i can see a few more chilli’s popping up 😊 u missed them. Love that you are using my favourite farmyard manure. it’s my go to for mulching my beds
Hey Stella!! 👋 only when I looked back on the footage I thought maybe there are a few more!! And today there is definitely a few on the row of home saved seed (from a store bought pepper so no idea if they will produce or not!) I used this manure last year for the first time and its so well broken down you can plant near enough straight into it, i love it too 🙌🌱🌶
If i had leave i would have flown up to help you 😊
Oh thats so nice of you ❤
Thank you Stella thats so kind! 🥰😘
I wish I could fly to Ireland and help you Laura 😂 your doing great though 👍
Mags 🥰 thank you!! It was so tough at one point I didn't think I was going to be able to get it all up 🤣
Grass is the worst thing to pull out by hand.
No dig great idea, you don't even need edges (see Charles Dowding) love your vlog, keep going
Hey Werner, oh I didn't know that I thought you needed an edge! 🤣 I really hope it works I've never done it before!! 🤞🤞
@@thetinygarden_ yes check out Charles Dowding he's the no dig guru, he says wooden edges are just a hiding place for slugs
I noticed that in my home garden, when I took the old main bed down it was a hub for slugs and woodlice! 🫣
Great video 😊
Thank you Arran!! 🙌
@@thetinygarden_ you are very welcome 😄 I’m looking to make a new video tomorrow but the weather is so wet now think it’s gonna have to be a sow with me style video. Fingers crossed for a nice warm march 🤞🏻
Great work from cork❤
Thank you Aine 🤗I used to live in Cork, I loved it there! 💖
The real capital 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Pants weather isn't it?.we have a shed that collapsed but have flood warnings this week 😩
The weather has been so wet 🌧️ collapsed shed oh dear. maybe it might come in use as a raft if the floods arrive 🫣
I just subscribed, I love your channel. Im in east Tx Zone 8b.
Thank you for subscribing, Pam 🤗 that is so nice to hear. I'm glad you enjoy watching them!
If you clip your onions they will grow stronger
I did hear that and tried it on my over wintered bulb onions! They aren't bulbing yet but tgey are just super long. I think I need to move them 🤔 or feed them... they're Japanese variety that you start off in late summer early autumn 🍂 😅 but not much info out there on them! Thank you for the tip!!
Hi, I think buttercups mean you need to put some lime on your soil.
Thanks Penny, I am not an expert on weeds I think they are creeping buttercups 🤷♀️ but I will do some research into adding lime!!!
well done .. where did u get the cloches from ? thanks
What part off Ireland you in
I am down in the sunny South east Gerard! ☀️

Thank you Gracie 🥰
looks like you need a wheelbarrow
