Good Evening. Just wanted to let you know. I have just come across your channel and have just been binge watched all of your episodes. I'm loving them!! This appears to be the last one loaded though...😢

Hi Laura! I'm just thinking of you are you ok ? ❤
@@rosemarymurray8256 hi rosemary ❤️ I was only talking about you the other day and said I must get pen to paper! I just finished my final presentation at university, struggled to juggle the time but I am very well! I will tell you all about it when I write to you! I hope you are well! Talk soon ❤️xx
@@thetinygarden_ I'm so happy that all is well with you ! I hope you had time with both of your gardens,?🍓
@@rosemarymurray8256 it has been so busy Rosemary I think I have been eating from the garden for the last couple of months! The only thing I have bought from the shop is garlic and onions! How is the weather? Has it cooled down yet? Xx
@@thetinygarden_ well it's still very hot today its 110 but next week we should be in the 90s yay its about time ,cant wait ,I got so much to do ,🌡🌻
How did I miss when this came out??? I was looking for an update and somehow completely missed it! Probably due to me being out in my own garden, but it's a lovely surprise now. :)
❤
What progress in such a short time. The allotment is looking incredible and love the new spot for the shed.
I still feel tired from moving it 😂 thrilled with its new position and the new spot is actually so shady so not the best for vegetable plants!
Congratulations on your first planting, so exciting.
Thank you, so exciting to get things in the ground! Potatoes are a must in any vegetable garden!
Just found your channel and will definitely subscribe, you're in the background on my desk as I catch up with work. Paying attention to your no dig beds, going to start some myself and couldn't afford to buy the wood. How exciting to see you start yours without the wooden frame. 🎉 At this stage watching your videos in order and admiring all your hard work. It's taking shape!
Hey Isabel 👋 so sorry it's taken me a minute to reply! I am usually quicker to respond I have been juggling university and work and took a few weeks off! Welcome to the channel!!! 🤗 Thank you for watching ♥️ I started the beds with no wood, I decided to keep grass path ways and I ended up buying the wood because I didn't have enough of a barrier between the grass and the bed but you can definitely do it without the wood if you opt for wood chip paths instead!
Hard work, but you're making such progress. Well done!
Such hard work but so rewarding!! 💪🙌
Great news that it wasn't a concrete slab. You're doing well. Hope you enjoyed your Sunday dinner.
I love a Sunday dinner 😀 I am even cooking one today I have roast turkey on the menu today! Relieved it wasn't a full concrete slab and those stones came in useful for the shed base in the end!
Ooh, yes: I save and clean up and grind to powder our household eggshells, too. Only for the sterilizing, I drop the shells into a pot of boiling water let them cook for about twenty minutes or half an hour after the last pair of eggshell halves slip under the surface. I have a half-gallon container I save them in, and then sterilize those shells once the container is full, but I also give the shells a good rinse under running water and I try to remove as much membrane clinging to the inside as possible. Then into the collection bin they go, to wait until I have a full batch. Once the boiled shells have dried off completely, they can be finely crushed, or ground to a powder. Much gardening love from Northeast Ohio, U.S.A. 😊💚💚💚💚💚😊
Can you sit a water barrel under the leaking spigot to at least catch some of the leaks? Good luck!
Good idea! Thank you!! I have to fixed now thankfully 😅
I love ur garden thank you for showing us xx
Thank you for watching Debbie ♥️
I planted my British Queens in march as well and just dug up my first few plants today Fr 26 jul 2024 and and had a great harvest am in Ireland as well hope yours does as good
It's so great to hear you had a good harvest!! They really are a tasty spud! I have picked a few the rest I topped and are in the ground I might dig them up this weekend so I can plant something else 😄
C'est un plaisir de vous rencontrer ici. Merci pour le partage. Heureux de communiquer avec vous.❤
Thank you so much! 😊
Laura, what was the broad bean vareity? Just subbed.
Thank you for subscribing Ged! I hope you enjoy the channel! They are called bunny yards exhibition, I love them! 😆
Hi Laura, Congratulations to you for your newest family member and for aceing your exams! well done🎉 don't feel bad about not getting videos out sooner, your time with your family is important and you should take all the time you need 😊 You are a sweetheart and we look forward to seeing you and Roo Boo and your amazing tiny garden which is doing so well. I love the new rack, it's nice and slim, not taking up tons of room, yet upright it has plenty of room for plants and seedlings 😊 your cherry tree looks amazing and sooooo healthy. My sweet cherries did not do well this year, but my sour cherries did 😏 Have a good week Laura, until next time xxxxx❤
Hi Julie so sorry it's taken me a whole week to come back to you I have been typing away trying to finish my dissertation 🫠 Thank you so much, one final push at college now! Hope you are doing well, I think I have one sweet dumpling that looks strong at the plot but I won't know for sure until it produces! Take care xxx ♥️
@@thetinygarden_ I will post a photo of my sweet dumplings when I get back from Academy
Lovely video thanks your very busy as always
Thank you Sarah 🥰
Could be that there are more nodules cos there plant still wants to make beans. They get used up as each flower gets pollinated, normally (but who said this year is normal? LOL)
Well that is very interesting Steve who knew the nodules were used up, good job I cut them back...free nitrogen! I must do some more research into it, I find it so interesting 😆!
@@thetinygarden_ Cool. It's why you have to cut down field beans before they flower if you use them as green manure.
Congratulations on having done so well on your exams, and in your gardens, too! Your college/university coursework of course has to take precedence over making and posting videos, and how could you not have taken time to see family. And how lovely that you're an auntie again! Have you grown red Brussels sprouts before? You know they are much later maturing than the green B-sprouts varieties, yes? Depends partly on which red Brussels sprout you are growing but 210-260 days is typical for red sprouts. (I'm trying both "Rubine" and "Red Bull" Brussels sprouts this autumn and next [h'mm, let me think a bit]..very early next spring for both of them just to see whether one sowing or the other does better.) I'm reckoning it's always worth trying a sowing of something, for it might work out brilliantly if the weather cooperates with you, and to try is at least a try, a chance, where not trying at all guarantees you won't have a second harvest. And yours is a much milder winter than I have here, so I rather envy you that. You might want to wait just a wee while longer before giving your spinach a second go. About it having bolted: sometimes for some crops it takes only a day or two of too-high temperatures to upset their growth cycles and to cause them to go to seed. Do you have seeds of that variety and of a second one to do a comparison (next spring-summer, I imagine) or just seeds to plant a bit closer to autumn to see how it grows in cooler weather? Much gardening love from Northeast Ohio, U.S.A.! 😊💚💚💚💚💚😊
Hey B Halliwell 👋I am so sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you! I have been studying so much! I have never grown red brussels before only the green ones with good success! I am growing Redbull too but the final growing space isn't ready yet for them to the late maturity might suit! I hope you are taking good care! See you on the next one! ♥️Xx
@@thetinygarden_ No worries, Laura; as I've told someone else recently, the garden and I are so far behind this growing season that we may as well have time-traveled back to *last year.* It's fall sowings now and of course a sort of game of "chicken" with the average first frost date: will these crops mature before the first frost? Well, we shall see! Meanwhile, your studies must come first after caring for yourself and Roo. Are you starting your Brussels sprouts indoors? It seems as though you might be so doing, since you say the final growing spacee for them isn't ready yet. Thank you for the kind thought (about taking good care.) Much gardening love to you and Roo from Northeast Ohio, U.S.A.! 😊💚💚💚😊
Well done!! You've worked really hard, its all looking so good. I'm moving house next year and hope to get an allotment then, hopefully with a shed too. I am definitely going to get a polytunnel as I am going to Scotland so I need to protect the plants from the weather!!!
Thank you so much! Oh how exciting a new house and allotment plans! I love my shed I need a bit of reno inside to make it the best use of space! I've never been to Scotland it's on the bucket list! Best of luck with everything ♥️
Ugh. Concrete chunks and shredded plastic 😣 the bane of gardeners everywhere! I live in a windy suburb, and my garden seems to be a catch-all for people's rubbish that blows in. I'm constantly having to tread into my garden beds to pull rubbish out. Very frustrating, especially if the plastic disintegrates! When it gets to that point, I usually shovel it into a garbage bag, because I don't want it hanging around in my garden soil. Your allotment is looking amazing! Same with your Tiny Garden. I'm so envious! Everything is full of vibrant green and bright colours 💚 Here on the other side of the world, it's still overcast, grey, and looking mostly bare. I think only my daphne is flowering, but it smells divine, so that's nice!
You said how I felt in own word ugh! 😩 I am trying the same tactic, shoveling it up but there is a lot of it 🫣 The plot is starting to feel like a real grow space nice, keeping on top of the grass and weeds is a little challenge but I hope to buy an electric battery operated mower and strimmer..maybe the same brand and my drill because all the batteries will be interchangeable! Has your winter finished yet? 🤔Xx
@@thetinygarden_ we have winter until end of August. 1 September is the official start of spring here, so only just over halfway through our miserable winter 😅 August is usually the coldest month, but usually by then there's daffodils popping up optimistically. Although that said, a lot of bulbs are up earlier than expected. I think they might be confused about where we are in the season! We had several nights that dipped into the minuses, so it's possible that they think we're past the worst of the cold 😂
