Nice temporary fix in a pinch but hopefully he lets you fix it for real. My neighbor actually fixed a hole in a pool liner without draining it with that tape and lasted all summer. Great stuff for emergencies
I would keep that flex seal patch on to see how long it will take to fail...P.S. The flex seal spray comes in pure WHITE..you can tell it's white because it says on the can and the cap is white..Not a clear cap..
He will get it replaced at some point I think. I and going to open the wall and try to see what the contractor did. Pretty shady stuff for a very expense remodel!
I'm having my shower replaced because of a crack about 3 times as large as this. Do you think doing this would last for a month on a larger split? Just want to be able to shower at home in the meantime.
I subscribed. You're cool. Great job. My latest repair job is on a Whirlpool jetted tub that I want to turn into a Soaker tub. I used some knockout plugs to fill the holes then might go with Flex Seal clear around the edges.
Why doesn't anyone do review real world scenarios with tub surrounds where the wall meets the tub? Like with uneven walls, large gaps at the silicone seams. What about using Flex Seal tape or putty instead of a silicone joint for tub surrounds? Finishing that and the edges of that with the Flex Seal spray or the caulk.
That is a great Idea. I would love to try doing this at some point if the opportunity presents itself. Thank you again. You are putting wheels in motion.
Temporary word fixing one now with that stuff on sorry but video nice small hole maybe on side compound will not work on an open section on the bottom keeps opening the fiberglass no support have to take a torch to get if off fix it right makes it worse to have to fiberglass over would not recommend for some reason holds moisture
I totally get it, but it is still working good and and been over 1 1/2 years. I would love to do a permanent type fix, but really the tub needs pulled. They really should have put a mortar bed and tried after the fact and jacked it up worse. Thank you your comments and for watching
I did the same thing but I used gorilla brand but it’s only to hold her over till she can save money for a new tub, also it’s just one person living there so one shower a day.
I am doing a fix it now too. 16 in area of a tub surround cracked tile definitely needs to be removed. As a temp taped off the area above and below and will flex seal clear spray to seal it for the next 5 month til the repair will be properly completed.
@@ThatFixItGuy I am thankful for videos like yours. I can't get myself to do them dumb anxiety disorder gets in the way. Back in the day I was a phone need did one tutorial on wifi tether before it existed through the big companies and how to watch Netflix on a TV before they allowed. They were hits but no ability to sustain so I quit while I was ahead. Love the natural way you do this.
Could have been a bit neater and tape off the area to be serviced or maybe just treat the whole base of the tub for a nice feel. Anti slip I hope. If they had cement under there and it got wet and if stepping on it is hitting the hard cured cement over time it's going to reoccur. But yeah nice temp.
The problem was the mortar underneath was not done right and caused the issue. Doing the whole bottom may have been a good option. Thank you for your comments
@@ThatFixItGuy yeah I also did a mortar under the tub fix it for a 600lb tenant who kept breaking my tubs. Redid the joists and laid plastic down then bags of cement vacuum sealed the plastic and covered with 2 tarps before installing the new tub. That was 2006 and still holding til this day with same tenant.
I think it would have been a good idea to make a round patch so there are no corners to catch and pull the patch up. It might last a little longer that way.

That is awesome! Thanks for sharing this Steve! It seems like a good temporary patch to me! I will see what else this stuff will do!
3 years later and I have to ask, How did it hold up?
Interesting... did you see my video “I got a hole in my roof”? I used flex seal tape to fix a couple of holes in my skylights in my building.
I will be checking those out tonight! Thank you Commander 🥓.
Next video...build us a BASS BOAT!!!
Lol! I will see what I can do!
I'd like to see a video of you fishing in a flex seal boat on the Stoney Ridge Farm pond! 😂
I want to make that happen!
If that what they want give it to them! Looks so bad… can you sand it and make it look a little better?
I will redo it one of these times I’m over there just for video sake.
You should have rounded the corners so it lasts longer.
In hindsight I wish I would have. I will check on it again soon and maybe replace it.
I would keep that flex seal patch on to see how long it will take to fail...P.S. The flex seal spray comes in pure WHITE..you can tell it's white because it says on the can and the cap is white..Not a clear cap..
I will be going back over there soon. I will probably make another update video.
Nice video but are you or is someone going to replace the tub

Right on. If you that route let me know how it works out. Has been a good product for me.

Bro, you used the piece with a crease in it. Jk
Lol. I totally did. I’m excited to get back over there and see how that patch has held up. A crease can’t stop flex seal!! Nothing can!
Yeah. All creases will end up leaking immediately or soon after applying.
It is still holding strong. Just saw it yesterday. This stuff does work
@@ThatFixItGuy Do you have any idea if all of the Flex Seal products will bond well to each other? I know silicone won't.
I don’t know that but it is a great question. I will have to put some of those together!
Phil Swift would be so proud of you right now
Lol! He is such a better talker! He may laugh at me though! Rookie league!
Not slapping that tape on the leak with the might of Zeus, is the only thing he would laugh at you for
LOL! Next time for you!!
Not for me but for Phil

Great call. This was meant to be that, but I think it will be the temp permanent repair! 😂
Thanks for the information Brian I always wondered if the stuff worked. Can you let us know how long it last?
I will let you know for sure! Thank you for watching Britt!
@@ThatFixItGuy How long did it last?
Thanks for the tips Brian! Good to know in a pinch!
For. I will be doing some more stuff with flex seal.
He should have drilled holes on the sides of the crack to prevent it from spreading
That is something I did not think of. We may have to go check on this soon and see how he is doing.
Nice video
I just purchased some flex tape to cover over flow valve I hope it holds up for a long time
Good luck. I hope this works out for you.

Still holding up. He is trying not replace the tub. At some point we may open up the wall and see just how bad the contractor messed up.
@@ThatFixItGuy awesome. My tub cracked recently and I'm not ready for ANOTHER bathroom renovation. I'll give it a try. Thanks
what would you say is the longest this could hold in a fiberglass tub

Unbelievable!
Who knew! AS SEEN ON TV!
So did this held up. Been almost a year.
It is still holding. I will say the stuff works
@@ThatFixItGuy perfect! just did the same. Sprayed first, then tape. Should I still spray on top of the tape?
I would give it a spray on top. It will seal your patch up nice. At least it did for this one.
be interested in how well this holds up.
Me too. That is one of the reasons I agreed to do it! Thank you for watching!
