- Hey there, how are ya?
I woke up one day wanting to play this game again and figured I'd record and upload it in the hopes that some fellow POTO fans come across it. Considering the fact that it's an Eye Spy game, it's actually one of my favorite additions to the POTO franchise!
Its relaxing, its visually pretty, and a bit challenging all while staying honest to the theme of the Phantom's, Christine's, and Raoul's story with a simple plot line.

You know someone is a real Phantom fan if they've played this game. It's so good.
I so want to play this one day. I already love HOPA games, and I love POTO to death, and the creepy gothic atmosphere is just too perfect. Also, whoever voiced the Phantom did a great job. I already know it ends on a cliff hanger, but I still want to play it. I'm glad it's still on Big Fish.

I remember playing this years ago and I don't know why but the music helped me relax more rather than spook me thank you so much for uploading this 😊
Bless, the primary reason i wanted to record a playthrough of this game was for this particular kinda thing and to share it with others! There's something so unique and hard to replicate with these old eye spy games, and the atmosphere and sound of them immediately hits you with that whip of nostalgia. ✨

@@shewolfsiren 1. I'm unfortunately aware of that *monstrosity's* existence, even still it's better to forget about it.
2. 🤭 Again, the musical is NOT original. And LND itself isn't original, it's an adaptation of a book named Phantom of Manhattan (worse than the musical lol).
3. This game is inspired by the _novel,_ not Webber's musical.
Such a shame they end with a poor ending in the collector's edition after the original ending and could have wrapped up this story better. Ah well, still have a phenomenal and creepy asf Phantom that I would have love to see more of and gives a pretty good "What IF" scenario that can be played with. So Im glad to come back and watch this game after 10 years. Great gameplay, so cheers!
Wholly agree, i remember being floored when i played this the first time and thinking it was shockingly a decent depiction of POTO and gave a great Alternate Reality scenario. Definitely wanted more.

As for your question, one day i'd like to! I still hope to replay the game and showcase the Collectors Edition content at some point, BUT I unfortunately do not have the means (Or, perhaps the smarts? maybe both?) to render videos in a way that doesn't make it lose a large portion of the quality in the process, which is why this vid is one giant playthrough in fact! When i recorded it, i wanted to do it in parts but my ability to do so without making it look bad wasn't there and the thought of losing any of the pretty details of this game didn't sit right with me, and it's unfortunately a skill i haven't obtained all this time later.
TLDR answer: I'd love to and it's never out of the realm of possibilities but at the moment i am unable to, my apologies! Cheers for asking though, glad my content was worth someone asking for a bit more!

Still around on PC/Mac, but I'm just now learning there was an ipad version some time ago? Wild to think this game is aging out of certain platforms.

Have you tried it on Big Fish? It's available there I just checked. 10 for the regular and Collector's edition for 20. I plan on getting it and playing it soon myself.

Omg... I still remember when my friend just shoved this game inside my laptop at my high school era 🤣. I thought it was like a horror clicking game thing (I don't know the name of the genre) but what I found was a masterpiece. This game is the pioneer of my obsession towards any puzzle-adventure (sometimes a lil bit horror/creepy) type of games 😂.
They knew what was good for you haha, my mom got me into these games in a similar way when i was growing up until it just became normal to play them together.
Happy to hear it! Lots of obscure games raised so many of us and set the bar/made us know what we wanted with our video game experiences but tend to get lost to time, it's awesome to hear that this game did that for so many people ☺

Agreed! I always have wanted more because the ending felt pretty abrupt but for what it's worth, i loved this game dearly.
Same! Just in the small handful of things i've experienced from the POTO franchise, it seems like they've always tried to make you wonder if he's fully alive or not. Some of it can be chalked up to his skill at being a magician or charismatic enough to distract you, but some other things i couldn't really chalk it up to anything other than full on supernatural magic! Always thought that was really fun :D

I seeing a lot of jump-scare in horror movie's and in horror game's so I'm used to it now these days jump-scare opposite effect on me.
Why do some games always have an open ending? Like, did they really expect to make a sequel?
My guess is the company could have continued it which is why they made it opened but they weren't getting many sales of the initial release so they probably can't afford making a full game, so they make a collector edition for this game that has bonus content and another ending after this one that still leave people with an open ending again but still titled "The End" so that pretty much confirms that they done with this story, unfortunately. And given how this was 11 years ago with a company now struggling being kept open to a point they lost more than HALF of their workforce, that a definite confirmation.

Does anyone know if the mac version of this game works? I had the ipad version of this game years ago but they aged it out and I want to buy it again because I loved it. However, in my experience mac games don't always run as well as windows so I just wanted to check...
I feel like the chances of it working fine should be high, but i personally don't have much experience with Mac systems and their intricacies they might have. The game itself is pretty small and not heavy on the resources at all, however. I'd put more of my faith in it working fine than it not!
Hoping for the best if you decide to rebuy it! Glad to see folks remembering it after so much time.
And hopefully some folks who own Mac systems in the comment section here will be able to confirm with more certainty than i can, too ^_^
Did you have bonus game? If so, could you, please, record and upload it too? And waht about other games in Mystery Legends series? I remember there were games "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and "Beauty and the Beast". Will you record and upload them?

I do not currently have the bonus content installed at the moment though, I lost the ability to install my collectors edition of the game when I upgraded my PC but I intend to get it digitally at some time, I'd be happy to upload it when that happens ^_^
As for the other games, I can't make any promises since I don't own more than this Phantom game currently myself, but I do love these games a lot, used to play them with my mom all the time, so there is always a chance! The beauty and the beast one sounds/looks gorgeous

I've been wondering this myself since i first played, and unfortunately can't consult any sort of Credits screen within the game to find out the source of the audio. Hopefully someone has a better ear than i do and can help pinpoint it, if it's a real song!
Can i ask on what did you play this? On my windows 10 it doesn't work.
That's bizarre, i am playing on Windows 10 as well. So W10 is definitely supported, it must be an underlining issue elsewhere? Hopefully ruling that issue helps somewhat!

It DOES require a payment unfortunately, yes. There's a free demo of it to get a quick fix, but otherwise it does cost 10 US dollars ^^; its on sale for 6.99$ at the moment, however!

Unfortunately not, i've been holding out for a possible sequel to this game for ages but i doubt it'll ever come true ;-;
The studio unfortunately went under before they could make a sequel.

@@CuteDwarf11 There is a short continuation after this that's like bonus content in the collector edition but it is just as open ended with Evelina still left in confusion for the Phantom and the Phantom stating he is, who he is and giving a vague answer. The End. Just like that. So, my best guess is that's that for them. The company probably might have intention to continue after the release of the original game but they probably not getting many interests when it came out, so they just release the collector's edition with the bonus content and ending and just put "The End" for the end sequence. It was in a old walkthrough that is like 11 years old so that pretty is it end for them, sadly.
