Actually here in Switzerland we prefer Certina over Longines, just like we prefer Omega over Rolex. Why pay more money when you get better specs,better quality and better customer service for less?
As for the bezel and the diver extension, why do people make a fuss when Rolex’s watches had the same kind of diver extension and an aluminium bezel for most of its history? People still spent thousands buying them….
This is a tool watch, and as such has all the criteria’s: affordable, ISO certified to 30 bars, etc.
But again, most people doing the reviews aren’t even divers nor are they going to wear it underwater or use it for its purpose…
Here in Germany, Certina is a very underrated Brand. They produce high quality watches at an affordable price.

I enjoy your reviews, particularly since there isn't much of Certina in the US. I bought the DS-1 Himalaya last year and your review on that watch helped with my decision. I'm loving the watch and I'm impressed with the watch one gets particularly for the price. I was considering getting the DS Action Diver, but now with this 38mm version I'm torn. I always though the 43mm version might be too big, but like it's style. The new 38mm version looks great - except the date. I've got time to decide. Of course I might get neither and get the Sinn 556i b instead. Keep up the great content.

Just WOW!!! Perfect diver watch with great design and size from Cerina! I wish they will make the same watches with their quartz chronometer movement (and titanium version too)! I will buy that watch for sure! Please stop making that old style polished bezels with "waves". Instead make divers with this classic diver bezels! They are awesome!
I have a few Certinas, a diver in Ti and a couple dressy options. They're all pretty good
I’m wearing my back on black and it’s the permanent daily diver. Love this thing, but if they ever come out with a version 2 they need to give this thing female endlinks the male ones currently stick out way too much. Also wouldn’t mind 39mm as well but be happiest with female endlinks.
I'm liking the size but I'll pass on this one , I've had a two-tone Datejust for Forty Eight years love it . Thanks for the review I've been waiting for it .

Is it just me or does it look like it wears really big for a 38mm diver? Looks like it’s 40-41mm. Looks huge compared to say a 38mm Seiko SKX013. I’d like to see a photo of the two beside each other for comparison.
This is my concern as well. Will know tomorrow when it arrives.

@@daverios1372 yes. Wears perfectly. Love it. It has become my one watch. Have worn it pretty much 24/7 for 6 months. Runs about +4.5 spd. A great watch overall.

Har selv et Certina DS action Sea Turtle Conservancy limited edtion diver´s (I skildpadde boks - udgået model, tror jeg). Virkelig et fedt og solidt ur :-) Sammenlignet med mit Oris 65 diver - synes jeg faktisk Certina virker mere robust!? Specielt når jeg trækker kronen ud for at indstille tiden - virker Certina mere solidt... Helt klart et ur, der overrasker positivt!

Should offer a 10k Gold version for Those of Us that really don't like a Cheap PVD Coating, that when It wears out LOOKS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE...! 10k Gold is NOT that expensive. It's Not Rocket Science,,, Give the Consumer a Better Product that will Last a Lifetime!

Why oh why do these makers design watches with odd hard to find lug widths. I really pisses me off to pass on a great buy because of that.

Will the gold pvd wear off after a while in your opinion?
Compared to gold plating PVD is much more durable as I understand. I think you should really beat up the watch to wear it off.

No no. No odd lugs! 40/20mm is the perfect ratio. 40mm case and 20mm lugs. I automatically avoid any oddball lug sizes Certina!
The bracelet is PVD treated with real gold ??
Yes, the centerlinks, bezel and crown is PVD gold.

The new 38 seem to be a good watch, but why has it this old crappy clasp with the cheapest dive extension on earth?
The bigger DS Diver has a perfect clasp with a quick adjust function.

Steel and green bezel and backplate is more beautiful than these two toned watches.

To be honest it looks worse than some of aliexpress watches eg. San Martin. I own a 10 year old DS Action and the clasp is the same.
I don’t agree at all. This is way better than those Chinese rip-offs.
