- Converted American school bus into our tiny home on wheels. Its a Crown Super coach from California but now in the uk. We have named the bus Queenbeeskoolie . Follow us on our journey as we hope to travel around the uk
The sweeper keeps kids out of the operator’s blind spot.😊 Anyway, she’s gorgeous.
I love the yellow refrigerator. And all the colorful details. Of this bus home is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing your video. 👍💖
Think you for your kind words
My High School in California had about 2 dozen of these ranging in age from 1962 to 1983....all manual trans.
Very nice build
Beautiful bus, great job with the conversion.
Thank you. It's a great looking bus especially for 42 years old
WOW iM retierd now but I drove a bus like that it was a 1966 modal its a beast lol
You're done a great job in converting that bus to a RV. Looks incredibly comfortable. Love those those old Crowns!! Especially with those Detroit's! God bless you all and I wish you safe travels.
Thank you so much. They are a great bus with loads of space. Safe travels to you too 😁
Wonderful! Can you find me a 1979 or so Gillig tandema bus? I have the same idea as you
That is a gorgeous work of art; and more importantly, totally livable! Well done; looking forward to following you in this!
Thank you 😍
good build, i hope you have many miles of enjoyment in it
Fab first video, you are a natural on camera! I can vouch for how comfy that sofa is haha. Look forward to seeing you guys out and about again
Thanks. It was great chatting with you at bug jam. Hope to meet again 😍
What a fantastic conversion. We have seen these vehicles in California when we have visited family there. Thanks for the tour. 😃👍🏻 Trev
Glad you liked it. I wish I had family in california 😁
Nice bus
Thanks. We have done a few upgrades since this video so keep any eye out for our new walk round 😁
Rode these wonderful buses junior high to high school 84-88
Great job restoring these dinosaurs they last forever I drove them in the 90s
Early buses came with
10 gear split shift 5gears and then automatic turbo
Detroit diesel or Cummings engines
Thanks. Hopefully it will last forever. I wish I rode in one of these to school
Well done you! Brilliant conversion. You should be proud of your work.
I imagine its a bit weird driving with a left hand drive when you're used to right. LOVE the yellow SMEG fridge.
Thank you so much. The smeg fridge is my favourite. It was the first thing I purchased for the bus. I don't mind driving a left hand drive it all adds to the amazing journeys we have ❤️
Look amazing guys x
Thank you
Looks amazing guys looking forward to following your Journey
Thanks 😁
What a cool bus. Love the refrigerator and the outside storage. That sofa looks really comfortable. The cow is so cute and I really like the door between the lounge and kitchen and the bed/bathroom area! You really got a gem with this one. Good work
Thank you. The fridge is my favourite 😍 glad you like the cow. I painted it and wasn't too sure about it
You are the luckiest folks in the UK. People in the US are giving up a kidney to get their hands on a Crown Bubble Butt. You would be treated like royalty at the Skoolie events here in the US. I'm officially jealous but happy too because you will obviously love this bus for a long time. It's found a good home.
Thank you. We were so lucky to find 2 miles from our house. It gets lots of attention here 😁
Did he say what year the bus is…
@@johnpauly997 it's a 1980
See you guys before can't think where 🤣
Been chatting with your mum this week at whitby 😁
Hey. That was really nice. I hope you have a whole lot of happy traveling with your beautiful tiny bus home ❤
Thank you so much. We do try and manage in our tiny home 😁😁
You've done a beautiful job. I've loved every Crown bus I've rode or driven. Enjoy your treasure.
Thanks we are very happy with her
Thanks we love her.
What a BEAUTY!!!! I absolutely LOVE 💗 IT!
Thank you 😁😁😁
Drove one of those for La Unified School District for 20 years. Its nickname is the Twinkie. It was so well-built it put crown coach out of business. Those school buses would last 20 30 40 50 years. All off-the-shelf parts for repair. And the beautiful thing is you can do a rebuild on that engine without taking it out of the bus. The center also houses the clutch linkage adjustment and also the throttle linkage. You know I think I might have a badge and I know I have the crown key to open the compartment doors
You had the best job ever😁 if you would like to sell the badge or the key get in touch I would be interested. 😁
@@queenbeeskoolie9787 Check for the badge and I must have sold it. I have a few Crown door keys 25 dollars each 🇺🇸 plus shipping
@@queenbeeskoolie9787 I did find 2 badges no Crown emblem
the "sweeper" on the front of the bus was, because they had many kids crossing in front of the bus and getting hit because the bus driver didnt see them, the arm (sweeper) was to keep them out away from the bus where they were easier to see
I work on these crowns in riverside california…
Wow wat a great job 😁
Wonderful conversion! I'm glad it's being put to good use. In Washington state, we had these same buses in the school district I grew up in.
Thanks. You were lucky to go to school in such great buses
@@queenbeeskoolie9787 Absolutely! They were one of the best things about school.
Amazing first video look forward to seeing the next one
Thanks 😁
Beautiful conversion!!
Thank you ♥️
Great looking Crown i’ve been a Bus lover since i was a young boy and the Crowns have been one of my Alltime favorites Ironically i also love and have owned Airstream trailers i think the Crowns make the best looking Conversion Buses because of their Rounding giving the that Art Deco Antique Bus look i’m also a fan of the Detroit 2 Stroker Power plants and their Unique exhaust notes i think it’s kind of cool you have one of them in the UK because they are sort of one of those United States Iconic parts of History Similiar to London’s Double Decker Buses which incidentally a former family member. owned one in the 1970s in The United States
Wow a double decker in the states. I bet that used to get as much attention as our crown gets here. I would love an airstream in the future 😁😁😁
your bus was original from a private company EMBRE INC pasadena ca.
cool conversion..
Thanks
this is GORGEOUS! and i love the interior. my bus is an 84' and is in dire need of a new seat and yours look really comfy, where did you say you got your seats from?
I’m partial to a shapely rear end also.
😁😍
Wow, what a fab interior you set up! Gee, is 'SMEG' _really_ the name of a fridge brand
or is it a fond 'Red Dwarf' reference? I live in CA & would love a Crown bus.
Thanks. Yes smeg is the name of the fridge. I think there made in Italy
following
Thank you
Yeah, new tires will cost $2000 and you'll get...if you're lucky...5 mpg. But the space is great.
We get roughly 10 mpg 😁 and we have a flat tyre at the moment. On the hunt fo one now 🙈
@@queenbeeskoolie9787 10 mpg? I remember someone said the original gas engine from the early sixties and before got 3 mpg after a tuneup, and 2mpg between tuneups. No wonder they switched to the diesel units!
nicely done. what do you cook on, either inside or out?
Hi we used to use a portable gas hob inside and bbq outside. Since the video we have done a few changes and now have a gas cooker fitted. We will be doing a new tour of the bus in the new year 😁
Is this a 38' or 40' Crown? I'm looking at a 1989 thats a 5 shift instead of the laborsome 10 shift. Wondering if you lucked out with the short shifter too! ;-)
36 feet 5 speed love driving this bus
How fast does it go
We do 65 mph when on a motorway 😁
