Considering Montu was one of the first inverted coasters it's absolutely amazing at how well they executed it. That coaster is still one of the best b&m inverts, if not the best.
Kumba is definitely one of the roughest coasters I’ve been on lol not sure if it’s an age thing but it’s been the same for like 20 years or so. Still an awesome ride

We just renewed our annual passes this year to BG Tampa since we live in Sarasota and are only an hour down the road from it! I moved to Tampa in 1976 as a kid and the first coaster, the Python opened up. Just learned that Arrow Dynamics created the ride, and closed down in 2002 going out of business. That made parts hard to get for Busch Gardens so they retired it in 2006. It was a fun coaster even if short (the ride time was about 1 minute). Thanks for this overview. I left Tampa in 1991 and the park has totally changed since I was there. It has become a roller coaster park and only Scorpion and the third coaster were there when I moved away. It is kind of sad, the park seems to be in decline ever since Anheiser Busch/IMB sold it off to an investment group.

Another group has killed Kennywood in Pittsburg replacing ancient but fun roll coasters with one off pilot coasters that are unreliable and cannot stay open. It sounds like from what you wrote they are not doing the same thing in Tampa.
Yea Idk about it being in a decline, especially with Iron Gwazi being open, and rumors of a B&M Giga about to replace sand serpant. Less of a decline, more of a.... bittersweet new direction

It was 1982 when my family visited Bush Gardens Tampa. We got on the newly built Congo River Rapids. Long lines but lots of memories. I still have souvenirs with the Dark Continent logo.
Fantastic video. Thanks. We're going to Busch Gardens this summer when we come on holiday and the main ride I was looking forward to going on again was Gwazi. Gutted it has closed, that ride battered and bruised me and shook my inner organs around back in 2013 when we last went. Loved it.
My girlfriend who use to work for Busch gardens not to long ago has told me that montu will be possibly closing here soon and im really hoping it doesnt considering it's my favorite ride :/
They wouldn’t do that... at least I really hope not. It’s the highest ranking ride almost every year for them and it’s honestly the best coaster I’ve been on.

When did they repaint the restraints for Kumba, SheiKra, and Montu because in most pictures the restraints are diffrent. Kumba:Blue Montu:Yellow SheiKra:Violet Blue
There a lot of things could happen to gwazi they should put either another launch coaster or a water ride since they use to have 3 water rides until now it'll be great during the summer especially when it's 100 out

I went on sheikra twice and it was AWESOME. I also went on cheetah hunt, montu, kumba, scorpion and all those rides and they were good

I think it was originally set for 1975, but was pushed back to 1976 so the opening can coincide with the bicentennial.

Busch gardens opened Tigris on apr 19 2019 and twisted tiger is opening in2020
I think the next coaster will come in 2019 for the anniversary year and will be that Gwazi both tracks will become a dueling Iron Horse RMC
I would definitely like to see a new coaster replace Gwazi soon!
