It's not the most thrilling ride at Busch Gardens, but the theming is great, and the spinning aspect and elevator lift are really cool. For a family-oriented ride, it's actually very exciting.
Eh... My problem is it's not a good rollercoaster and it's not a very good themed ride so it's kind of a disappointment when you ride it. In the end if you want a good thrill ride, ride Shiekra or Kumba, if you want good themed rides, go to Universal.
This was by far one of my favorite rides, it’s gentle, you don’t panic or get scared going on it, but it’s fun and thrilling at the same time, it’s great for a first “big ride” for kids, it’s a good ride. And, it’s even better at night
Based on the dialog on the initial at the start of the ride, "I am the serpent, I am the darkness", and how the tunnel leading up to the elevator has writing that mentions a "snake king", I'd say that it's safe to assume that the aforementioned Cobra is none other than Apophis, Egyptian god of darkness and snakes, himself.
Its actually true cuz thru the rides line it is themed to be an abandoned excavation site and it has whiteboards with notes about their findings and pages from text books with scribbled notes throught the line, with the notes getting more crazy and like the person writing them is falling to the curse.eventually leading to the room before the lift with the writings on the wall and a laptop with more notes with it...all in all its universal studios quality theming and ride execution!
HydraGaming I agree. Coasters like this and the sand serpent are ment for little kids who are just experiencing their first roller coasters. Which is why they cant go on rides like SheiKra and Kumba. Those rides are ment for the big boys while the smaller rides are meant for small children and their families. To be honest, Cobras Curse looks a whole lot more fun than the sand serpent anyway
+Cloverstorm At the same time, there are family thrill rides that are designed to cater to the entire family, not just the kids. Generally, family coasters that feature launches such as Firechaser Express and Wavebreaker fall into this category, as well as some of the more intense spinning coasters, mine trains and the like. I'd put Cobra's Curse on the lower-end side of that "Family Thrill" category.
+Ethan Correa Eh, Cheetah Hunt is a pretty intense ride. It's no gigacoaster, but I would not consider most full-size launched coasters to be "beginner" rides.

I had a fast pass so I couldn’t really enjoy the line. +there was like 10 min until close to I wanted to ride it 3 times so I sprinted through the line. But what I saw of it was amazing. The TVs and everything was amazing!
I love huge thrills and scary rides but I really enjoyed this ride! It’s cool that there’s variety in going forwards backwards and spinning. Super creative style
I LikePotatos it’s called butterflies in your stomach. Happens when you get hyped and scared for a coaster and your stomach feels weird. Happens to me, too. But for me they go away on the first drop.
It's both it's basically they turn it and then spins all the way so they won't turn it too fast if it turned themselves and spin off cause of the weight
The ride is so fun I went to Busch gardens yesturday and I didn’t go on it because the wait was like 65 or 55 minutes and it’s so long the line curves and stuff it’s so long but it’s really fun
Ightslay I live close to Busch Gardens so I go a lot I love this ride it's really fun it's not scary so if you don't like coasters or have someone who hates them this is a great start

This little girl was me when I rode the Tony Hawk Big Spin... the kid exterior really distracts from from the fact this is a spinning wild mouse rollercoaster with banking helixes... I feel for her, man. According to my father I was white as snow.
This was the first coaster I really had fun on. I hated every coaster I had ridden up to this point. I’m still not a huge coaster person but I’ll always remember this one fondly.
This was my second favorite at Busch! I’m not a big thrill seeker, so this and the log flume was perfect! But when I’m in the mood the Sheikra was just 😍
Personally, as a person who is scared of roller coasters, I went on this and it’s actually not scary at all. It has a great theme, not that high, not too intense and is definitely a ride I would recommend if you’re scared of roller coasters. The connecting and backward mechanics are cool.
I went on this a little more than a week ago when I went to Busch Gardens with my friends and I have an intense fear of heights it was so scary but fun if your debating whether or not to go on it I definitely recommend this was my first big roller coaster and I literally had anxiety in the line but it was worth it because when your finished you feel accomplished and realize it wasn’t so bad.
Ugh I waited for this ride for 2 hours when the wait time said 30 minutes...I was stuck in the part of the line where it showed the video of the snake king and it was so annoying
henry welsh I was once stuck waiting for about 2-3 hours because it was raining/lightning but no one knew what was going on. It sucks because we were stuck waiting right after that part, near there instructional video thing 😂 I memorized the script, after watching it like 50 times
Our home park is Busch Gardens Williamsburg and while many of the rides in BGW have sister rides in Tampa, The Cobra’s Curse is truly one of a kind! The cue feels like you’re a part of a real dig sight that leads to the amazing ride!
When I was younger, we didn't have any real roller coasters near us, and this just came out at Busch Gardens while we were on vacation. This was my first real roller coaster. Yes, I was terrified, but it was worth it :D
One time when me and my siblings went in line, it was empty, so we ran through the line acting like zombies and moaning. Then, some people who came in behind us caught on and starred screaming out random curse words. It was hilarious XD Of course, we quieted down as we came to the end of the line though
Alright, so I'm on vacation in Tampa Bay and my parents, brother and I went to Busch Gardens. I only got to go on Sand Serpent, Congo River Rapids, Log Flume, and Cobra's Curse in 7 hours on a Tuesday! Like wthhhhhhh. The wait was really cool, but the wait to go onto Cobra's Curse was almost an hour. Anyways, when I was there yesterday I went on Cobra's Curse and freaked out so much. When the ride started, I was sitting with my brother in the front seat of the second cart and the ride started moving, I was saying, "I don't want to go on here anymore, I want to sit with dad now!" When I went forwards, I felt I was about to puke. When I went backwards, I closed my eyes then the second time I went backwards, I squinted and freaked out in my mind. After when we got to the gift shop my dad got me a giraffe plushie with a sweatshirt that said "Busch Gardens" on it. I was so relieved that it was over lol.
Ruler of Pineapples You must be bad on roller coasters, when I went on for the first time when I was five I said this after the ride “ I hate that ride can I please go on cheetah hunt now!” It was a disappointment
I like the elements of this coaster. First, it's normal with you facing forward. Then you face backwards. Then you SPEEN around on the coaster. Great theming.
I went on this and honestly the scariest part is when you are half hanging onto the tracks and spinning, did I mention you are also going backwards? Also the line was really long :/ it was like 100 min or something but it was really fun and was worth it.
I’m not one for intense roller coasters so I didn’t go on much rides and this one was closed until an hour before the park closed. Even though we didn’t have much time I am SO glad I went on it! It was so much fun and as soon as I got off I got back on it again!
It's supposed to be a tamer ride to give a good option between the smaller coasters and something like Cheetah Hunt. While I'd still prefer Montu next door, this is still a pretty solid little ride.
(potentially) interesting factoid unrelated to the ride itself: if you look closely at the ceiling in the queue building, you'll see small plastic circles. Those are sampling ports for an aspirating smoke detector, which has a main unit somewhere hidden and a system of pipes and tubes called capillaries that slowly draw in air using a small fan in the main unit. They're extremely sensitive to the point that they can detect a server overheating. I believe they used it in this case for the aesthetics of it so they wouldn't have to have a bunch of individual smoke detectors on the ceiling ruining the beautiful theming. They very clearly put a lot of love into that structure. An aspirating smoke detector after installation costs around $20,000 for such a structure as compared to what would be about $10,000 of spot-type detectors. I think this is just further proof of how much work they put into the beauty of this ride.
Sir I must arrest you for not understanding that this is a family coaster and that any type of inversion, even if it’s a non inverting loop which doesn’t count as an inversion, belong on thrill coasters.
It is boring, but anything like loops or tall/fast drops would make this family coaster into a thrill coaster That's like making sand sercent taller, want to hear children cry?
It’s funny to think within the span of one year this was my first coaster, and now I’m an enthusiast. I’ve riden almost every ride in Florida and Georgia and now I’m gonna travel to carowinds in a few months :D. And as of this date I’ve been on montu over 300 times and kumba 245 times
People don't seem to get that this coaster is a *family* ride. It's not meant to be a big thrill ride, nor does it make any pretense of being one; on the contrary, it's advertised as a family coaster. It's well-themed and unique, and easily on par with, if not superior to, the roller coasters at Disney, which is very clearly the type of ride they were trying to emulate.
Seriously. Cobras Curse fills a niche, and it's especially fun since random physics means that that second half of the ride is always different. Plus it has the best queue in the park.
TheInflicted it also has terrible capacity and only the last 1/3 of the ride is in free-spin and BARELY moves. As evidenced in this video, it was the same ride I had. Spinning coasters can be a lot of fun. This one is not.

How does the spinning work? With a programm or just gravity.
Tim Kuppen This one is gravity based upon weight.
Triangular Building Not completely. Notice how it spins without any force working on it, both in the station and when it spins backwards.
Jake Cobovic There are parts in the train that can spin the cars or allow them to spin freely.
I think there are sections where it spins freely and the rest of the time its controlled.

That's like making sand sercent taller, want to hear children cry?
It’s funny to think within the span of one year this was my first coaster, and now I’m an enthusiast. I’ve riden almost every ride in Florida and Georgia and now I’m gonna travel to carowinds in a few months :D.
And as of this date I’ve been on montu over 300 times and kumba 245 times
i loved that ride so much but they should put a really TALL drop
Some of us don't like really tall rides. Parks don't need to cater to only the adrenaline junkies
Theres already a tall drop ride at busch gardens. I forget the name but its super steep
Anaira Alvarez this is a children's ride
Astral Cosmos Celestial the Third it’s called Sheikra.
Anaira Alvarez this coaster is a family coaster. They would never put enormous drops on family coasters.
this is my first spinning coaster and my fav rollercoaster ever! who doesnt agree with me
90% of comments kid screaming
9% the actual ride
1% other
The sound of Children crying in absolute terror brings me joy
WHAT!???
@@frooosted7880 (:
Lol that kid was crying
Not trying to be mean tho
Got on and off this ride like 4 times in a row last August
I wanna go on this so bad
I love the beginning at the station when you can see the car in front of you being whisked away!
Damn...
that’s sad how her mom was laughing at her child she could of asked if she was ok atleast
I went on THIS
watching these while waiting in line to see if i should stay in the line
It's scary ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
busch gardens tampa has the best themed rides.
Such a dumb coaster. Did not live up to the hype. The best part was the elevator lift. #yawn
John Warner, it is a family coaster, lighten up a bit
John Warner well they could not want people to vomit everywhere maybe?
It's fun to most people.
WORTH THE WAIT :D
