You have to stop apologizing for not being a daredevil! I personally enjoy seeing the scenery you show us and prefer you stay alive to do so! As always, thanks for taking us with you! 😊
Grew up 1 mile from stovers Park .I remember one year, the ice broke up in that creek it was 8 to 10" thick blue ice. Also a kid in my school fell there from the cliffs he survived but was never the same.My relative james a mitchner, donated some of the land
Thanks for introducing this location; it's a good place to explore someday. At the blog, Southeastern PA Hiking, you'll find beautiful photos of these trails and vistas by searching under Ralph Stover State Park (hiked July, 2014) and Ralph Stover State Park - Fall Colors (hiked October, 2014).
There is the devils teatable along the NJ river road twice as high but it's on private property the view of the Delaware River is amazing. The bottom part of the stovers park is also great by the bridge you know about the doan gang and cave I have been to dtovers park about 50x
I used to spend my summers as a kid at a Boys Camp (Camp Stearn) down the road from the park. In the late 60's and early 70"s we would hike there through the picnic area across the 2 sided bridge up the road to this Overlook. It was called Eagles rock then. Don't remember a parking lot or many paths through the woods. The old chain link fence was present but the Iron one was not.
Hello, I enjoy your vlogs. Especially the ones about all the covered bridges and historical sites. Is Pennsylvania the state with the most covered bridges? I thought this one with Ralph Stover State Park was very interesting since Stover was my maiden name and it is not a very common surname. Even though we have not lived in that part of the country for 50 years, most of our family comes from Ohio and West Virginia. The majority of our family are still there. Stover genealogy was researched several years ago by one of my nephews and found out one of my grandmothers, Sara Stover, was Squire Boone's sister; Daniel Boone's father. And Dwight D. Eisenhower's mother was a Stover. Keep on vlogging but watch out for snakes. Some of the places you explore scare me. Thanks and God bless you.
Been there many times, the upper trail eventually leads to the campgrounds and parking area. Mountain bikers often ride the trail. There are restroom facilities at the campground which is convenient. The upper trail is the best one to hike as long as you're in fairly good shape.
I've never hiked or backpacked in PA. Hoping to this coming year. Summer, perhaps. The mountains in PA seem more like the ones in mid-Tennessee and in Arkansas--low ridges and plateaus deeply cut with ravines and canyons and not much in the way of classic mountains.
Hi, wow a very beautiful but also potentially dangerous area. I personally am with you on not carrying on above that sheer drop off. I think when your inner voice starts screaming like that you should really listen to it. A beautiful video, thank you.
Beautiful place with the vistas. Have you ever explored the history on the Loyalsock Trail and surrounding area? There's also a place called Ticklish Rock that's beautiful. Unfortunately graffiti has taken its toll but still beautiful.
Upper trail on top of the cliff and there is a lower trail in the center under the top trail. Open face is probly the highest. 120 ft vertical climb. This place is a climbers paradise
Found this about that plaque along the trail: www.penniesfromkevan.org/about-kevan.html There's also an obituary on Legacy dot com that says he was from Flourtown, PA. Full obituary says he died suddenly, which sadly sometimes means they took their own life.
Rock climber litter, they should go back and pick up their stuff, kind of like stacking rocks for 4x4'ing (where allowed), keep it fresh for the next person. I really enjoyed this video, memories of similar places, watch your step, careful is always good.
At least this park has a fence along the edge. I forget what video it was you did where you were walking along a trail right at the edge of a steep embankment like that and there was absolutely NO fencing whatsoever. The trail in that video is one I probably would never be able to hike along myself with my fear of heights.
No, you're not a baby, but smart and value your self worth. I'm over the "masculine ideals" of being arrogant and a careless daredevil! I want to see more of your videos, so you are doing the smart thing!

Awesome hike... you are certainly sure-footed. Thank you for sharing this adventure.

WOW, those rock formations. outstanding
What an awesome area. I really enjoyed the hike. Glad you stayed safe. Pennsylvania is gorgeous. 🐱
Those’s rocks scare me, but beautiful. Nature is amazing. Live in Arizona and the rocks remind me of the Grand Canyon.

I lost a friend who was climbing up there in '79. RIP Dave Koslow.
Another great episode. Winter is coming.
There were quite a few folks with climbing gear there when I was there this spring. Really enjoyed the scenery.
Lovely park indeed! Thank You! DaveyJO

Great video! I live very close to this park but I haven’t gone yet. You have just motivated me to go.
You should I live an hour and half away and go every chance I get. Love to climb those rocks

We do clean up. And we have specific days to clean and recondition the trails every year. But climbers are very aware of their impact on the areas
Hiking in Ralph stover is rough It took me like a year to find doans cave and I'm a climber . very small more like a shelter than a cave.
kickn it where is it located???
@@Reefer57 along the tohicken near the office.
