Ok, let's do this. So after hours of testing, I've come to a conclusion as to why filter blocks will sometimes go through the system. This system is not overflow-proof. This means once you put a stack of items in the sorter hopper, it sends a stronger redstone signal than normal and therefore unlocks the other hoppers and sends filter items through the system. A simple way to counteract this is to NOT put a stack of items into the hopper while configuring them. The reason it worked for 1upMC is because he only put 6 items, rather than a stack. Also, if you fill all 5 double chests with items and and the hopper fills to 64 as well, the system will also break. Thank you for reading, and give feedback if this helped or not.
God bless you. You have no idea how many different ways I have tried to build this and had it fail repeatedly. It was because I was adding a stack and everything was filtering out. I have finally gotten one working. 🙏
@@momfox7711 no. unfortunately, i have no idea how that problem could be fixed. it seems to be that literally every item sorter breaks after being filled to the brim, which is honestly expected. I guess a way to counteract that issue is simply to just add more storage, but it definitely doesn't FIX the problem. Using barrels might be less lag, but you're gonna have to use double the amount you would usually use to hold the same amount of items. At the end of the day, it's up to you which you prefer, less lag or more storage.
If you stagger the chests and hoppers, you can ensure all the items go to the bottom chest no matter how full it gets. Get something from the bottom and it will fill back up from the top.
In order to do the system overflow proof u need to use only 4 filter blocks and 41 items to be sorted. this way it wont break. i used it in my guardian farm (produce over 40k item/h) and it works smooth. hope it help somebody

im thinking of building a massive chest sorter for basically every item in the game. now i keep seeing that if you put in more than 41 items it overflows. is there anyway around this and would there be any issues doing this build on a large scale in bedrock 1.20 realm?
You should outline the build area so that way if someone's building this in an already made base they can tell if it's gonna fit. I'm making this fit no matter what because I'm in a bunker but if someone has an above ground base that would be a pain to reconstruct it all over again to fit the build and then make it all look nice afterwards.
So I made this and when my bottom chest got completely filled with cobblestone (full chest), it got stuck in the bottom hopper behind the bottom chest. Anyway to fix that? It sorts great but when one chest gets completely full it doesn't use the chest above itself.

What do I do if the filler dirt I put in each hopper just goes through, what do I do.
Make sure the the hoppers at the very top are not going into a chest. Their should be pointing forward as if there was a chest there (like in shows in the video)
I was having the the same problem until I corrected that mistake.
I tried this and it still doesn't work I'm very confused @@OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOq
Same
Does it matter how tall the tube is?
Nope:)
@@1upMC thanks!
You can build this for auto sorting raids or something. Just don't build the tube part or make the items to into the chest.
facts
My items keep getting stuck on the third hopper any fixes?
I don’t know what I did wrong but when I put the subscribe dirt in the hopper just takes it right away
If your hoppers are facing into the other hopper it wont work unless it is facing into the comparator
Going to get the beacon out and make it sort every. Single. Survival. Item
some items getting stuck in bottom and middle hoppers even tho they're all facing the chest as explained in the videob
my items dont go into my chest even tho the hopper is connected to the chest
I like the way this creator makes his videos, but i always see TONS of comments of people saying it doesnt work. So i didnt make a build until now... Seems like im one of those people now. I went over the video and double checked everything, but ANY item i put in the top hopper goes into the chest. Named or unnamed. Like the comparator isnt working or something....
If your hoppers are facing into the other hopper it wont work unless it is facing into the comparator
Can I use other block instead of ice pack? And what's the button use for?
The packed ice is used so that you can send the items further and the buttons is used to block the water from flowing the wrong direction. You can switch the buttons with signs or pressure plates if you like but not the packed ice.
Will this work without the packed ice?
It doesn’t work the named items go through the hopper pls help
When I put the place holder it disappears
QUESTION: can you make it so it sorts two different items into the same chest?
For example bones and arrows are sorted together
