Thank you Diana for allowing Dawn to share the inspiration she gained from Dorothy. May I share about a dear friend of mine, in N. Ireland? She announced on her 60th birthday that she didn't want any presents but would appreciate any gifts to enable her to found a home in Uganda for unmarried mothers who were rejected by their family. Valerie was undaunted when cancer struck her; she flew over, between chemotherapy treatments, to check up on building progress. She is now 78 and the home is still going strong, providing not only shelter and safety to these young girls while pregnant but providing them with job skills and a safe home to care for their babies until they feel strong enough to move out and be independent. Volunteer teams go out each year to repaint old buildings, build extensions, a school is being built while she runs a charity shop in Belfast to finance the home. She had the vision and obeyed. To God be the glory, great things He has done and is still doing. There is life after retirement!!
I love to make quilts. I don’t need any more quilts! But i found a mission that makes beds for kids. It’s called Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Their goal is “no kid sleeps on the floor in my town”. They need twin size quilts. Score! Answer to prayer, for sure.

This is such a great idea. And people who like to knit and crochet might be interested in organizations that give hats, gloves and scarves to needy families and the homeless. I even heard of a ministry that made hats for newborns.

Great message. When things are left to God, and we surrender our control, God blesses 10 fold. Dorothy started with a direction from God, but she didn't give up. Dawn, I love when you get emotional with your passion. Diana, I love your pouring out the vision. Our moldable brain, it's true. Also the more we stimulate it with desire to learn keeps it pliable. Amazing work twins, I have a pair my husband and adopted. They are now 7, we adopted them when my husband was 51 and I was 46... we prayed and always felt the answer was yes. Not being young was a factor in our fear. It's been 7 years and we can't imagine our lives without them. Our other children are adults and have children of their own. I have certainly learned to walk on faith and I am amazed at how many blessings we have received and how they have blessed others. It's never too late if you feel God's guidance to pursue your outreach and spread love.

Such a beautiful testimony, thank you for sharing. It has always been on our hearts to adopt, yet at 51 & 49 I was fearing the dream had passed us by. We will wait and see what our heavenly creator has in store for our future. 💕
I also still think about adopting...I'm now 41 & my husband is 45. We love teaching kids and try to help as many children as possible by supporting Compassion International. But I often wonder if God could use us to be parents someday as well...

After 20 years of homeschooling and 5 years of seeking what to do: write, draw, crisis work...I now work at the library and feel like a ministry to our patrons who have such sad stories to share; some who come in daily including homeless and hurting and elderly who have lost loved ones.

Thank you so much for all these videos! I use to be in the Legion of Mary in NY. We had a program to help kids with after school homework, played games, crafts, skills, snacks and taught them something of God. It's really true about supporting others in the ministry. There was also a prayer program for people to join us in spirit who couldn't directly add to the cause. -One last note trying not to be too long, the pastor of that group said something like this that always stuck with me, "you don't have to go to another country to do ministry work, it's here. Look around. This is missionary country". We saw what he said when we stepped into the lives of these children and homeless who came to us. Out of our small group there was also two or three people who went to serve in Mexico ironically enough! :)

"Lord, what is your promise in this new land?" I so needed to hear that! As an older person facing change in my profession, I have felt the fear, the feeling that I'm never going to figure it out, that I've become obsolete. Those are lies the deceiver tells us! This was so good. I needed to hear this today. The lord has had on my heart about a younger (30 to 40) women's small group at church. I'm nervous because I would not call myself a Bible expert, but I'm feeling led. Kudos to the lady in mexico.
This is so inspiring. God meets us where we live and uses us in ways we can’t anticipate. He just wants WILLING SOULS. He can use us in big things, and small. Just say, yes Father. I’m 65 and have a lifetime of evidence that God blesses and redeems. Thank you both. 🙏🏻💜
Living proof. The Lord has always place love for children in my heart, even while I was a child. So very long story, but God placed on my heart and my family's heart to help children. So we jumped! Rented a building that was more than our mortgage and started a free after school program. The children that God placed on our hearts 6th grade to Senior in high school. Everyone thought I was crazy! But this past Thursday we ended our 5th year, with 1,268 visits. So that's our jump story. God is so good.
August 1, 2019 I was diagnosed with end stage multiple myeloma with AL amyloidosis. God used a stem-cell transplant to ultimately place me in remission (but in reality, he began healing me as he knit me together in my mother's womb - long story). Anyway, my prayer has always been that God allows me to honor my commitment to homeschool my children. I've got three more years. Because everyone expected me to succumb to my illness, and because I have had to remain in quarantine for the past two years, I felt as though I could no longer be a part of the story. None of us knows the number of our days, but I've got a new prayer. Father, please put me back in the story. If it's possible, allow me to further your kingdom with the time I have left. We'll see what he says, but every day I wake up, I remember that I'm here for a reason, and it just might be something that will happen this day. The story continues, and if we are watchful, we can always add to it. Thank you for your ministry here, Diana. So many things you discuss are invaluable as I try to steer my family through these crazy, rough waters while remembering that Jesus is, in fact, in our boat.
It is so true that the things on which we focus our attention is what wins over! During this lengthy chapter of new uncertainty in the world, I have cut out as much as possible that makes me feel tempted to fear. I have re-committed myself to knowing the Word, and have found hope and encouragement through listening only to that which is edifying and empowering to face the fear head-on!
Thank you for the message that no one is too old to serve or to stay something new! What happy news it is to remember how much we can still accomplish, most especially when we are following the will of God!

Thank you for sharing 🥰 I am 51 years young and believe as long as we are on this earth we have a purpose. I can't imagine calling myself old. Our perspective on thee world "old" can change from person to person, but I feel most put a negative view on it. It is a mindset. I have seen "old" people in their 20s and Young centurions (100+). Where you focus your body will follow. YOU, EVERYONE, has a purpose and is capable of so much more that we allow ourselves to believe. Love the message! God created us for greatness, we need to learn to speak to ourselves the way He does...the way we speak about our children. Hugs, love and blessings from Arizona
This message blessed me so much!! Amen Dawn!!! So many lies from the pit of hell!!!! I am learning to give God my little and let Him be the God of more than enough!! Inviting Him into every area! As far back as I can remember my dream job was to be a professional organizer!! But I didnt know how to put action to it. I just kept putting that dream to the side. But hearing your story Dawn, has sparked that passion in me again!! But it goes deeper than just getting rid of our stuff! Freedom, healing, stewarding well what God has given us!! I didn't get my teaching license until I turned 50 and then it took me until I was 56 to get a teaching job. I've been teaching now for 6 years and it's been very rewarding. It's the hardest job that I love!

I am still feeling lost after just more than a year ago and I'm turning 60 this year. I needed the hope that I'm not "too late" to be starting something new. There are some things that have been tugging at my heart for years that I have never told anyone about and I just push it down and call it stupid thoughts. I'm going to get the courage to rethink this, start talking about it, and start doing something about it. Thank you for this message.
Diana, I want to tell you that while I am not a Christian and I usually click off during the prayer I still watch and listen to your messages here on RUclips. You are able to convey a message that is a lesson on life no matter one’s religious leanings. I just wanted you to know I appreciate you.
This was what I needed to hear today. My husband and I just realized where we missed it. Where we stepped out of God’s perfect will and into His permissive will. 8 months waisted. Looking back we could have helped so many people and we would have prospered. But we got excited and got out ahead of God and His perfect timing. We have struggled. And sadly many people we love have suffered because of our mistake. But we serve a good God full of love and grace! We have repented. We have recommitted ourselves to his perfect will. We are back. I have been struggling with looking back on the missed opportunities and Satan is trying to bring division between my husband and I. I will not have it though! It’s not too late! We can still be used in a mighty way! And my family will prosper. Because of Jesus’ precious blood that covers all sins we will move forward in His power and glory. It’s not too late. Thank you Lord!

Love this. I have such a heart to start a non profit w mens families w cancer. I loved your videos on Mexico Dawn..so inspiring.. w loosing my parents (ministers) 8 months apart then care giving w my aunt w alzheimers 6 yrs and then my hubby a yr after parents died he was diagnosed w leukemia and laid off 2 yrs into treatment, then he just had kidney cancer surgery a yr ago... Im in your Take Back Your house group..we have no kiddos and the group is so precious..weve always been the pay it forward family never thinking we would need to use the food bank at times.. you guys are soo right in your conversation we all still have "purpose"..love that Diane a (His..story to draw from..) . You gals would love my friend Lisa Bain ministry book she wrote after her mom died called It is Better Out There..it is about stepping out, serving and seeing miracles even in the broken places of our lives. And her journal is From ". Broken to Break through"
My husband and I have adopted 5 children and now are in the process of adopting our grandchild. Our children are all in their twenties and we have had people who think we are completely crazy for starting over with an infant. We say that it will keep us young!! The Lord is good and uses us in ways we never would have dreamed of! If you keep your heart open and listen to the still quiet voice within, you will never go wrong!

Dawn, it's just so beautiful how God filled your heart and your life in such a bigger way than a relaxing vacation would've done. Relaxing vacations are great, but clearly God knew exactly what you guys really need right now and gave that to you with so much love.
I came across PS 22:10 this week "From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother's womb you have been my God." Yes! History with God is what helps us weather those difficult spots/fears, remembering what he has done for us in the past, gives us confidence that He will be there for us now and in the future. It will all be alright, for our good and for His glory!

Yes!!! Fix our eyes on the Lord! At the beginning of the pandemic, I was guilty of sitting in the recliner checking the Covid numbers and wondering what was next, instead of praying! Finally about 2 months in, I was insured to turn that at home time into something positive, and started working in my yard one hour a day, while listening to uplifting podcasts. By the end of the summer I had transformed my yard with about 90 hours of work, meanwhile Jesus transformed my heart and brought me His peace that passes understanding! 🥰🙏🏻❤️

I think your right about anything can be positive or negative depending on how you use it or look at, but I’ve also learnt there are many things that deceive us in this world. Like caffeine, it makes people feel like they have energy, when really their body is saying I’m tired or I’m sick, I need to rest or eat better, instead of putting in pretend energy which actually hurts my body, especially my liver and makes me more tired in the end. But the caffeine calls and we answer it with chocolate, coffee or tea and suppress what our bodies and God are telling us. There are unfortunately many tricks on this planet, we do have to be careful and look closely at things first. I’ve been tricked many times.

Dawn, the Lord is certainly leading you and speaking into and through your heart. I am so happy that you do have and show tears for those who need help and love. Just think, you started minimalism to find peace and time which has lead to wonderful youtube content that you can share so much to others and to having, not only the time, but the resources to help, teach, guide and love. This is so incredibly helpful! Actually brought me to tears. This morning my husband and I were talking about how all we seem to see is the horrible things going on in this country, around our world and in our city. We struggled with the question should we speak up and fight for what we believe or should we just focus on our family and tune out the evils of the world. This truly was helpful to remind us to lean more on the Lord and to trust that we will see the land of milk and honey and not see the giants of destitute and desert! Thank you for this 🙏🙏💕💕

I think it was David Wilkerson who spoke at our church once and explained how so many .Christians sit around waiting for God to give them a ‘calling’ or ministry etc. ( which does happen for some) but he explained most Christians need to hear that “THE NEED IS THE CALL”. That has always stuck with me. We’re always looking for a sort of ‘superstardom’ ministry even within Christianity, when it’s so much more simple than that.

For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries. (1 Corinthians 16:9) Note that a 'great door' for ministry was alongside 'many adversaries.'

Such a great message!! I have been on three short term missions to build homes in Mexico (once in high school, twice in college). I'm 45 now, and love this reminder that it's not too late or too dangerous to go back (with my husband and kids!). Or too late to do whatever else God had planned for me, despite the "giants".

I lost my partner after a surprise pregnancy at 41 and now that my daughter has turned nine and is becoming self conscious I’m finding myself going from natural girl to struggling to look younger to feel better among younger, richer, married moms. With my own mother moved in and always in my face I struggle to honor her and yet kept my mental health. Really working hard to stay with a purpose and in a loving place. Couldn’t do this without you
I went on missions trips to Dominican Republic. My first was at 21. I was so taken back by how simple they live, they are happy, have God in thier lives and are loving life just the way things are. I came home and started getting rid of everything. So amazing you were able to take your family, that has been a dream of mine!

My husband and I have 5 children. The first three are our biological children, ages 25 to 31 and we adopted two more children one as a baby and one as a four year old and they are now 13 and 11 years old. About a year ago, we also had a foster baby for three months. She came to us straight out of the hospital as a newborn, 10 days old. We didn’t know if she would stay with us permanently or if it was just for a short time but we really, truly felt that the Lord would give us what we needed for the time that she was to be with us, even if that meant to raise her. I have to admit that there were challenges at age 53 to go back to caring for a newborn along with homeschooling our other two girls (and we’re grandparents!) but I also want to say that the Lord gave us exactly what we needed and my husband and I rocked it! ;) We gave her so much love and attention and we feel like it was exactly what she needed in her life. We didn’t adopt our first two or foster the baby to be a ministry but the Lord can use us, we just have to let him. He will also give us exactly what we need in the situation. This was a great video, ladies! Thank you!

Thank you for giving us, seniors especially older who are finding ourselves doing ministry work throughout America . When God puts its on your heart and His direction doesn't go away and lots of prayer. It is time to just go. The Lord gives such a reward to the people you are working with but a wonderful reward to you.
