Neat vid! At first, I thought mine was broken for not charging my laptop, until I realized I was plugged into the wrong usb-c port on my laptop. (one is thunderbolt, the other is not, and they're right next to each other)
the video is great and i loved the information provided, thanks. Does this work with the apple m1 macbook pro for multidisplay support? also would the usbc thunderbolt port work with dell usbc thunferbolt monitor with usb 3.0hub?
Hi, I think we have these at work, seems to look the same in terms of the ports etc, so we also have Macbook Pro's and we just plug them in, it charges the Mac and the ability to just shuffle apps onto the 2 extra monitors is amazing, great piece of kit.
Hi, I have a Dell XPS 15 9530 notebook that when it is connected via a regular hub (I have the DA310) to a monitor (HDMI or VGA) works considerably slower than without being connected to a monitor, so I was thinking about buying this dell docking station, particularly because of the fact that it powers itself greatly at 180W. Is it a good investment? Or maybe is there something wrong with my notebook? I've tested all hardware and everything seems fine. Thanks for reading and for sharing this great content!
Yes, but the USBC DP port in the back is most appropriate for a USB-C monitor and then use the TB4 ports for a 40 gbps nvme drive or other TB device. The monitor only uses "4K60 video (2160p60), for example, requires 12 Gbps of bandwidth to support a full color image with no compression"
On Amazon they sell the wd22tb4 and the wd22tb4 /w thunderbolt 4 bundle. What is the difference? The $45 dollar difference cannot possible by an HDMI cable and SD card reader. Does the power cable come with both? WHy is this so confusing?
Would be nice to have an audio jack. One can always be purchased seperately but... why not just get a different Dock? Any suggestions for the musicins out there?
I had an issue with my Dell docking station. I couldn't get it recognized to do the update. The USB ports eventually all failed as a group so I discarded it and bought something from another vendor after only owning it for a year and a half. I have also had an XPS 17 graphic memory fail requiring a motherboard replacement not under warranty two keyboards on laptops failed. One key popped off but that required a complete keyboard replacement. For some reason after that, the fans on that machine now run continuously. The vendor could not figure it out. After so many off-warranty failures within one year of the end of the warranty, I can no longer justify buying Dell laptops for personal use. If I did, I would get an extended warranty for the next five years after. Dell quality is not long a selling point.
Does this work with AMD laptop with usb4? If connects to laptop via usb4, will the two tb4 ports at the back be able to output video or just function as regular usb?
can the dock be powered by 130W USB-C connected to the Thunderbolt? It would be weird to buy latest Dell Laptop with USBC plug and not being able to use with the Dock, do you have a way to test it?
I have the wd19tbs, and I have only the 130w adapter. It works fine. The dock uses 40 watts, and leaves 90 w for your laptop. Plenty of power for my M2 Pro 14in, but you might need more depending on your system.
Any chances it supports 4k@120hz single display on a macbook pro M3? The display supports 120hz, but I want a setup through a dock to keep a single cable plugged to the Mac
It would have been more informative if you had given the transfer speeds of each of the different USB-A and USB-C ports along with some file transfers examples. Maybe next videos?
Very big and bulky station and additionally big AC unit. Hard to hide on the desk I am not so happy as the video author. Station can supply power but has big HDMI problems with external monitors and basically does not work as expected.
Yes, agree it's a large useless brick. It has major HDMI problems. Idea here is to see the second screen. Also, sometimes the external keyboard does not work. I purchased a very inexpensive SABRENT doc and it works. STAY AWAY FROM DELL DOCS. Biggest POS
@@kimberlywentworth9160 the inexpensive SABRENT etc docks are great I have 4x smaller LASUNEY brand with most ports just missing power on button. Thanks for your feedback I'll get Dell WD19S, apparently works better than WD25TB
Dell docks that don't have UHBR, or the basic ability to be powered by host computer when there is a powercut? Yeah no way this tonedeaf class of "enterprise" docks by dell are useful let alone be the best.
Not much useful info. The only new thing about monitor chaining and thats it. You'd beter make the video after 3 months of use and tell what is good and what is bad. How can quickly and efficiently switching beteen multiple laptops. I would buy it if they had a unit with a 3 thunderbolt cables and you quickly switch between 3 devices. I need quickly switch beween 2 laptops and desktop.
This doc is a piece of junk. It is very hard to use. The screen does not go back on after waking up the computer up from sleep. It gas several glitches. It works on and off. It can not power monitors very well. It's only 180 watts and not enough power. It's just a POS that does not work. I threw it into the dumpster.
Don't buy this crap if you plan to game with your laptop. The usual screen flickering, shutdown and disconecting peripherals issues as other docks Ok for office work, but then how do you justify this price tag, barely does more than a $20 usb dock
Comment of the day "Don't lick the port". Gold.
Sweet vid thanks couldn’t find any vid reviews in good English! Thanks!
How about the Refresh Rate of the monitor does is support the max refresh rate of your monitor?
Hi. Is it possible turn on laptop connected via this doc station without opening the lid?
Can I power and UAD APOLLO TWIN X with this dock and power my laptop/desktop
Neat vid! At first, I thought mine was broken for not charging my laptop, until I realized I was plugged into the wrong usb-c port on my laptop. (one is thunderbolt, the other is not, and they're right next to each other)
Extremely helpful!
It supports 2 notebooks and 1 monitor?

is the fan loud and/or distracting ?
Great job on this unboxing video! Do I understand it correctly that if I am using two 4k monitors I should use the thunderbolt usbc ports? Thank you.
Hi, is this understanding correct, and is it working well for you?
Can any one help, can I add a 3.5mm audio jack to this (ceiling speaker) can I just use a 3.5 mm to usb c converter?
I came here looking for this info too. What a weird thing to remove from this huge dock.
The multifunction USB-C display port renders the HDMI port useless - don't understand why this would be an issue.
hi this docking station is working in any lapyop like a asus tuf f15
is it possible to connect WD22TB4 docking station with MacBook Air M1 2020 and 2 screens Dell U2722D?
its work in mac m1?

What is the use of the 2 Thunderbolt ports? Can I connect a USB C powered monitor to it and get power and video out to the monitor?
Yes, but the USBC DP port in the back is most appropriate for a USB-C monitor and then use the TB4 ports for a 40 gbps nvme drive or other TB device. The monitor only uses "4K60 video (2160p60), for example, requires 12 Gbps of bandwidth to support a full color image with no compression"

Remember when docks used to be actual docks. Now they’re basically just fancy USB hubs.
So they're more flexible now. Sounds like good news. Those shitty docks normally wouldn't fit other models because it's proprietary.
I have one and its the worst products. All the ports are so fragile if you hit or touch the cable the ports unplug
Naive question, I was wondering if it recommended to unplug the docking station from the wall socket even when it is not in use?
Thanks
Nah it will be fine don’t worry. Just the same as keeping pc plugged in
is it fully compatible to Surface Pro 9? I will have to work with both Dell and MS devices.
does the power swith on the dock can boot up the lap top? will you try this?
As long as its a dell yes.
it works only Dell laptop only? what happens on other laptop?@@comfysofa1549
Yeah, Yeah, great video, whatever. Talk to us about that blue case of screw bits! Where did u get that and how much???
Would be nice to have an audio jack. One can always be purchased seperately but... why not just get a different Dock? Any suggestions for the musicins out there?
Probably for audio quality is better to use an external DAC via USB. The sky is the limit $ for quality external DACs!
Great video. Can connect two laptops? Using c-type connector
I don't think so. But it would be interesting to try Mohammed
Does it works with macbook along with charging over same cable?
Yeah

180 Watts is called for on a Dell M4700 Laptop, The docking station uses a 240 Watt power supply.
Does this work with AMD laptop with usb4? If connects to laptop via usb4, will the two tb4 ports at the back be able to output video or just function as regular usb?
AMD or Intel should not make a difference, and USB4 is usually TB4 so, I expect it would work fine at full TB speeds and functions
WD19 has a fan

this is amazing unboxing~so long,;)

Did you end up trying this onto your MBP? I am eyeing this docking station and have a M3 Pro, although I just need FHD@60Hz dual display.
I ended up getting a Caldigit, and it worked perfectly at 4k@120. If you need just dual FHD@120, this one serves you well, for sure.
It would have been more informative if you had given the transfer speeds of each of the different USB-A and USB-C ports along with some file transfers examples. Maybe next videos?
this is amazing and I want it for work but they would never spend that much on a dock for us :(
Its pretty cool
The company I work for has these docking stations. These are the worst docking stations ever made, all of the docking stations have issues.
you mean, dock with a fan?
HDMI 2.0, why not 2.1(

130W out... I cannot supply my Alienware 17 R4 🤯

Get the KVM switch for that
HDMI 2.0 not 2.1 its realy bad if you have HDMI cool monitor
DO NOT PURCHASE. VERY BAD DOC AND DOES NOT WORK VERY WELL. I TOSSED MINE IN THE TRASH.
which one do you recomend?
Troll. This dock is awesome... Works with my ultra wide screen monitor at 144hz
This doc is a piece of junk. It is very hard to use. The screen does not go back on after waking up the computer up from sleep. It gas several glitches. It works on and off.
