  • Cynthia Sayer (banjo) with her group Sparks Fly - Mauro Battisti on bass, Larry Eagle on drums (and other things) and (in this clip) the nearly Headless Hornsmen (Randy Sandke on trumpet and Dan Levinson on clarinet) - perform Duke Ellington's Diga Diga Doo in Dresden Germany as part of the 40th Dresden International Jazz Festival.

The camera never showed the clarinet player's face; I guess its Dan Levinson from data.

not familiar with this banjo player but I was delighted to see she wasn't holding a damm 5-string lol . Seem its all we ever see usually. My dad played tenor so that may be why I carry on an aversion to "pickin and grinnin style bluegrass banjo. Great fun performance here!

I've always looked upon the banjo as a booring instrument until now. Cynthia, your way of treating the strings has to be the only way! Keep on swinging!!!!
