It’s probably the stock ground for the radio isn’t connected very good. I would try and find a nice metal spot that connects to the chassis of the car, sand it down and connect your ground (black wire) their. Also make sure your yellow and red wires have power. You can use a multimeter to test for power by putting it on voltage and touching the red probe to the red or yellow wire and touching the black probe to the chassis of the car. If it all checks out and your ground is good and you have power, check the remote wire next (Another blue wire). The remote wire can also be hooked up to the yellow or red wire. If you do hook it up to yellow tho the radio will always stay on, if you connnect the remote wire to red it will turn off when you remove the key from the ignition
Mine has done this for 5 years and I just take the fuse out every time I get out the car lol I didn’t even think about changing the wire harness shit..
@@richarddickinson7242 I think what messed mine up was it stormed one night and my top was off and the radio got wet. That’s when the light on the radio started staying on.. was like that for 5 years, then the sound stopped working.. I just recently installed a new deck and now it works with no problem.. but I installed it with no wire harness. I just followed the colors from the old harness and went wire to wire
@@richarddickinson7242 also some models of vehicles don’t register correctly with newer decks so you have to run the power wire somewhere other than straight into the deck.. you can jump it and run power from your fuse box
Joe Alder yes I switched the yellow and red. The radio would not work at all. I believe the green wire in the harness is in the wrong slot. I talk to Best Buy their suggestion: wire the red wire to accessory wire on the ignition switch. I pulled the glove box off found the wires. I believe the purple/green wire is the accessory wire. I am just not 100 percent sure that this will work I have spent hours and hours on this
