Havent been paying attention to the camera gear market for a while now and I was not aware these Sigma-lenses were adapted for the RF-mount these days, cool!. I had the 30mm back when i i used an M6 mkII and had to go with Canons 35mm macro when i took the plunge and switched to the R7, definitely will be looking into both the 56 and the 16 now.
Always a pleasure to watch a little declaration of love for the Sigma 56mm F1.4! I LOVE it. It's my favourite lens of all time, and if I could have only one lens, it would be this one. I have it since early 2019 and it was too much of a challenge first, with its narrow field of view. But nowadays it has the greatest share of all photos I keep. As a side note, a friend shot the inferior Viltrox 56mm F1.7 on 40 MP Fuji APS-C against his FF gear, and even medium format gear, all in the 85mm FF range, and he was a bit disappointed, as literally no one, except for his professional photographer buddy (not me), saw the differences...
Haha yeah I do truly love this lens! It’s not perfect in every scenario, I.e can sometimes to be too tight - but I just love the way it renders images. I think your friends scenario must be pretty common - I feel the images look so good that it makes FF less tempting.
Love this lens, it's one of my most used lenses on my Sony a6700, possibly the sharpest lens ever, a brilliant portrait lens and still life photography.
I love the Sigma 56mm, much more than the 16mm which is fantastic too. Some of my best photos from very different places and conditions, we're shot with the 56mm Sigma. This was s not a coincidence 😉 I've jut got the Tamron 17-70 with stabilisation. Mainly for video with A6400. I wonder how big is the difference in picture quality between this all around zoom and the 56mm gem from Sigma.
My favorite lens, can't go wrong with this one, I've try many lenses, bought and sold most of them, this is the only one that I've kept since I bought it, great images Stuart!
These days, it's hard to recommend the Sigma 56mm when the Viltrox 56mm f/1.7 and the TTArtisan 56mm f/1.8 are half the price (or less) and 95% as good.
Hey man great video, i recently just bought a sony a6400 and the sigma 56mm 1.2. Im just starting out and my clients are most likely going to be portraits inside restaurants and venues like that. Would like to connect and show you example pictures i have seen online and what techniques or edits i can use to get similar outcomes
Used to be my fav until Viltrox 75mm F1.2 came along. I have not used it as much these days. I mainly shoot outdoor so I don't have issue with the focal length. I also use the 75mm F1.2 for landscape too for a semi-telephoto shot. I still keep the Sigma 56mm though. Nice little portraits lens.
Yes I’d love to try that lens out - I should try asking Viltrox to send me one! Sirui have just sent me their 85mm 1.4 lens which I’m looking forward to testing!
Wouldn't the sigma E mount 56mm not equate to 56mm on APS-C (A6700)? Did you mean it will equate to an 85mm on a full frame (FE mount) sensor. Great content show casing the A6700 and lenses, please make more with the settings you would use for both video and photo 👍🏼 Also do you use ND filters for daytime shooting especially leaving it set to f1.4?
@@StuartRodwell I know I should upgrade, but at the moment I have 18-135mm sony. Although it's a variable aperture lens. Not that fast either! But I love the compression from the range of 100-135. What would suggest me a wide like 10-18mm or 18-50mm fixed aperture? Or should I go with 56mm 1.4?
I really like your videos. Just waiting for 30mm version but already thinking to replace canon nifty-fifty with this 56mm even though M system is dying 😋
@StuartRodwell I bought it along with the kit lens that came with ZV E10. This lens along with a mist filter gives people what they expect from a person holding a camera. That wow factor that cellphones can't provide. You explained it beautifully already. Big fan of ur content. Keep doing the good work.
Anyone else digging this lens?
Optically one of the best lenses I’ve ever shot with.
@@kibira_fit agreed 👌🏻

One of my favorite lenses of all time! This lens has paid itself off several times for me and probably the best lens I have!
Yeah even tho I don’t shoot professionally full-time - it’s still definitely earn’t me a nice chunk of change 💵 💵 💵
Can confirm, a god-tier lens.

I got this lens recently and love it!

I have sigma 10-18mm F2.8 & 18-50mm F2.8. In term of image & video quality, is it much difference? I am using on a6700.

I had the 56 and 16 just like you and I regret selling them... I'm gonna get the 56 back soon 😊
Yes buy it back immediately! 😂😂😂
Thanks for the video
Very welcome 🙌🏻

I have been confused for some time now, whether to go with 10-18F2.8 for it's wide range, or go with 56F1.4 by sigma!!! I kinda want both...
Two very different lenses - but yes always good to have something wide & tele to cover a larger range.
Have you thought about the 18-50mm Sigma?

Yup. My first
Think it was probably my third - but one of my favourites now

Such a great lens 👌🏻
Everyone loves an 85mm look.
Agreed! 🙌🏻
Nice❤
Thanks 🙌🏻
I have the 16 and 30 but not the 56 for some reason.
Definitely worth the investment (in my opinion)
