The MacBook is out here trying to get rid of all its ports, meanwhile Lenovo is out here saying "port me up."
Example iPhone cancel headphones jack
Love your review; you mostly showcase the laptop's appearance
Good job, young man
I have this laptop with 3.2K 165Hz screen with 100% DCI-P3, and I think it's more suitable for content creation. the 240hz screen usefull for FPS gaming.
are you really play in 1600p? iam going for 1440p and happy, however my fps cap at 160, i dont believe you will exceed it with the slim 7
@@CellDE you're doing exactly what I'd do if I had such a laptop. Anything more than 2K+ resolution is just too much and useless for a laptop.
@@ESX77 just for productivity, my main thing was the 100% dcip3 ... so vivid colors and 165hz is decent for my goal. next slim 7 would be an oled version of the gen 3....
That's a sweet setup for sure.
It's legit
@cjknowstech I have the exact same mac you have and am a click away from buying this machine. Can you provide an update on your experiences since purchase from a video editing and visual experience (I'm purchasing the 16 inch model)? And how is that fan noise in every day use (browsing web, youtube viewing, etc.)? That is my biggest worry. The mac is so freaking quiet ALWAYS!
How's the gaming performance in long hour sessions??
you aint switching from macbook to lenovo 7, you are still using MacBook and got this unit sponsored by Intel and Lenovo so you will be using it alongside with MacBook
I switched for the time period of the video and testing…relax. Literally said I challenged myself to use it and realized I liked it and shared the experience
@@CJKnowsTECH sure men not hating on you, just general average viewer will take video as you are ditching MacBook for lenovo 7, which is not true at all. You just keeping your MacBook as it is, with your workflow and got sponsored some new toy to show off for the video. You have it marked as sponsored and everything so just commenting on it
I like MacBooks but realizing base models cost 999$ is a big misunderstanding. I regret I bought my M1 8GB.. I love iPhones but MacOS..
Is there a link to the outro song??
Great review as usual. What your thoughts about the handheld Lenovo Legion go?
A creator friend of mine has one. I would have to get my hands on one to truly say but I’m enjoying having a portable gaming PC in this laptop so a handheld gaming PC might peak my interest
@@CJKnowsTECH I can dig it, handhelds are the hottest thing. Spec sheets is crazy!
The display would bother the heck out of me. The matte, anti-glare coating that they add to some gaming laptops just ruins it for me.
Lenovo makes great hardware though. I loved my Y700 for the couple years I had it. The speakers were *so* good on that laptop. I don't need as much power nowadays, so I sold that and picked up an M1 Macbook Air when they came out. I can't imagine needing more than this during the foreseeable future.
I have both a MacBook M1 Pro 14 and a Lenovo ideapad. My mac 💻 has got the nicest screen I’ve ever owned on a laptop but I want to upgrade my Lenovo to one of these legion slim or legion 5 pro variants. What’s better about the legion 5’pro? Is it just better thermals to dissipate heat?
take a look at the new 2024 legion 7
Does the Legion Slim 5 has the instant wake feature and catch up to where u left off like u have in Macs?
I am living in a quiet environment. How bad is the fan noise on regular day today tasks. My mac makes absolutely no noise at all
You have a silent mode on this laptop means its trying to do as low noices as poss. It is almost unhearable even when i play games on my 4060 gpu. Its great compared to other gaming devices with 4060 too.
@greateminemfan How is the FPS on silent mode ? I am still gonns wait for the industry to catch up on arm for mainstream gaming. I am done with these x86 and x64 desktop processors that are scalled down for laptops.
@@mutchlouis9707 pfc the fps is lower in sm. But i found many games are still able to get 60+ fps even with no loading. If its plugged in it is just a tad slower in most games.
please do the new gen lenovo yoga and samsung galaxy book 4 ultra when they come out
Nice overview! Are you experiencing microstuttering like other owners of the Slim 7i? Is the battery life in the 4-5 hours range as reported? Although once you go on battery power, those NVidia GPUs are pretty useless. I was contemplating buying a Slim 7i as well, but those two factors drove me to get an XBox for gaming and keep my MacBook Pro for real work.😂
Yes, except for gpu power , macbook is excellent device
I have the same legion slim 7i model. I didn't know microstuttering was a widespread problem, but I experience it. Happens only once in a while and so it's a non-issue for me. Yes battery life is in the 4-5 hour range, i see some reviewers getting 7-8 hours but i could never see that under normal use. Definitely not even close to the battery life i used to get on my M1 MBP 16gb/1tb. Gaming on this though is awesome. I had a 4080 desktop system but I was never home so I sold it and bought this + pocketed some money.
Why you have it plugged it in
This was a great video. I’ll likely get the Legion Slim 7i simply because I’m in college some classes that deal with Microsoft heavy apps such as English class. It’ll be more of a hassle with Apple products. I want to complete assignments with no extra steps. But I’ll definitely get the iPad Pro. I’ll just buy a MacBook Pro for a love one as a gift 🙏🏾
The only problem with the Lenovo is the battery.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but your M1MAX config seems unreal,,,mine is a maxed out M1max with 10 core cpu, 32 core gpu, 64gb ram,,,,
you're not wrong
those numbers are completely off.
Actually accidentally quoted my M2 Ultra Mac Studio specs on accident. Was under the weather when making this one. M1 Max 32-core GPU and 64 GB of RAM
Still not a match for the MacBook in an all round package and hardware quality, but of course; different strokes for different folks, enjoy…
especially the speaker, the quality is so so far from macbook speaker.
How about i7 13700h with rtx 4060 version in this slim 7i? Is it worth buying ?
yes 100%
I keep my MacBook M2 pro 1tb for daily use and my Lenovo legion 16 rtx 4090 for gaming and nothing else is installed on there 😂😂😂
Battery life? Seems like a bit of a miss to not mention that for a laptop.
I thought I did but if you're gaming heavy and pushing it the battery drains fast but for casual use it's actually decent.
@@CJKnowsTECHcan u give us some numbers? (Hours active)
@@CJKnowsTECHdelete i cue software (it’s broken and drain battery)
@@jayjaysan4955 Lenovo using it's own software called Legion Spectrum RGB since 2022, so no icue software anymore.
Seems like all the sponsored videos for this laptop miss that when comparing it to Macs...
Show benchmarks man. I hate mac os that's why considering legion over m3 max 16
I believe in Lenovo supremacy
Lenovo is not as portable as pro.. battery issues.. u have to keep the charger on…
That Legion is going to slow down to a craw in 4 to 5 years. The MacBook Pro with that M3 Pro, is not.
👍🏾👍🏾 colors dont look crisp , looks washed out
That's because of his editing
For $2k, I would just get an Xbox Series X and a Samsung 55-inch OLED 120hz TV with 4k resolution. Total cost pre-taxes = $500+ $75 (additional controller) + $1,150 = $1,725.
You’re not that guy pal trust me.
@@angellomeli3801 I don't trust you, so... 🤷🏾♂️
14 core of pure thermal throttling :)
It doesn't thermal throttle. Don't talk shit
yeah, it's easily hit the tj max out of the box. the fix (for me) is cap the power max at 95w and the temp never goes 90degC, without sacrifice a lot of performance.
Please DON'T BUY this Legion Slim 7i 13th Gen laptop. You're limited to Windows 11 OS only. Lenovo provides drivers only for this OS version. You can't install any other Operating Systems on this machine. It has provisions only for two RAM slots and two SSD slots. It generates more heat. I bought one by my wrong decision. Now I regret. Please don't buy this Legion SIim 7i 16IRH8. Will Lenovo provide Drivers for Windows 10, Windows Server, Linux ?
i wish lenovo could just remove the numpad on the legion brand and center the touchpad..
