This is a fantastic video. Not too much, not too little, tells you everything you need without any fluff, good audio, nice slow speaking style for non-native English speakers, and quality production from start to finish. If only every video on RUclips was this good! Thank you so much for posting this, it's very helpful.
I think the finish is beautiful, much better than looking at bland walls. You did a fine professional demonstration of how to do it to achieve the same results. Thank you for sharing
Just finished up the master bedroom accent wall using this technique. I ended up mixing two paint colors with the glaze I purchased at Lowe's to give it even more depth. It looks awesome. Thanks Woolie for the instructional videos.
This is great!! I'm getting ready to move in to a new place and was looking to learn how to do this!!! THANKS!!!
thank you so much for explaining how to select the colours I have been watching video's all morning trying to figure that out so I am glad I came across your video.
Best instruction. Thanks for your help.
Pure professional.
Great finish. Would try to apply this in my future projects. Thanks for the video!
this is super simple to do...I love it...
Excellent video. Thank you. You make it look so easy.
I would recommend Satin finish paint. Not too shiny, but durable.
looks great! good job!
Thanks. Very clear and informative.
Wow...great video and techniques
very, very nice job.thanks for the info on this product.
Very nice! And easy to do!
very cool I could watch all day
I did this, with a base color of fire engine red, rolled on and dried, then ruby red mixed 1/2 with glaze, dried and then chocolate cherry red mixed 1/2 with glaze on two 10' accent walls. I used less glaze because the colors are so deep and wouldn't show otherwise. It came out fantastic, everyone just loves it and wants to know how I did it!
What brands of glazing liquid do you recommend?
very nice, and the wall
s look great to :)
I have slight imperfections on the walls like seams and small nail pops. Would this type painf finish hide these imperfections to some degree? Love your video. Very informative. Thank you for sharing!
thanks for the video can I do that over kockdown texture
Hi there! i have been searching so long for this exact look, i love it. Could you please tell me the name and the brand of the color you have chosen for this video. Also what is your shipping time frame for the glazing tool(i believe its called the woolie)?
please let know
many thanx
I have existing texture on my wall, can i do it over it? or need to smooth it out?
so if i wanted to do a red wall do i do the same thing. ? just go 3 shades darker with the glaze?
can you do a base coat and 2 glazes using the color wash technique
Hi , can you tell me the brand and colors used in the video please . Thanx 😊
I think I'm going to try this in my washroom but with grey tones to match my marble cabinet. I hope it doesn't look like kaka though. :/
thanks
what color did you use, looks great
If I'm mixing my own glaze, what kind of paint do I mix with glazing liquid...satin, semi gloss, eggshell....thank you
Very good. Thank you
What glaze do you use. The glaze ive used in the past dries too quick
can you share the color paints you are using?
thank you for the great video!
Can more than one color glaze be used as in color meshing with paint?
Can I do this faux finish with a blue base paint that is already on the wall? I would like a rustic finish that is blue with brown over it for a rustic weathered look.
Question. I have kids who like to color on my walls, and when I painted a sample board with this technique, after it was dry an area of the glaze coat was able to be wiped off partially with a household cleaner. Do I need to place a sealer coat over this when I'm done to prevent it from being removed? What are your thoughts?
I wanna know what types of color to make it as an old stone look and please give me a recommendation of which colors and their code #
Excellent video and very complete. May I ask a question? Can you add a metallic underneath? Or how would you suggest to add in another element such as the metallic? By the way, just purchased a small Woolie from Home Depot. Off to paint! Wish me luck! I have painted hundreds of times but never have attempted a faux finish.
What was the base coloe and what was the glaze color??? That is the perfect colors i'm looking for!!!!!!!!!!
very nice and easy. And the lady is pretty too! :D
I did something like this with three colors.
comment faire pour avoir tes techniques avc plus de details

Hi. Is the glaze WATER BASED or OIL BASED glaze? Thanks :)

So what is the purpose of using a satin finish as the base coat?
thank you for your videos your work are amazing but i have a question the paint are you using ist a water paint base or oil paint and for glazing ist oil glaze also or water... waiting for your answer
ahmedali ali All of our faux finish painting techniques are water-based. Water-based is the best choice for a variety of reasons. Oil-based glazes turn yellow with time. If you hang a picture on your wall that has been faux finished in oil, the area behind the picture will remain as it was when it was painted. The rest of the wall will turn yellow! Yuck!
One more reason is toxicity. Many, many years ago I used to create my faux finishes using oil-based glazes. I repeatedly got chemical pneumonia from the toxic fumes. It felt like I was sick all of the time. That's exactly why I created The Woolie and it's patented painting techniques. I needed a better solution to get fast, easy and beautiful faux finishes. I guess that it's true.......necessity is the mother of invention!
I have yellow satin walls, what color should I mixin the glaze so it won't be to dark?
I'd go with a lighter cream color myself
Light yellow probably
I had a yellowish color and went three shades darker on the color (which was a light brown) and it is beautiful! It looked very Tuscan.
Has anyone tried two different colors, not just shades of the same color. I have a base coat of med beige and want to put either grey or terra cotta over. I'm trying to match my bathroom tile which is beige, grey and terra cotta. I know I should use a darker shade but does it only look good in a variation of the same one?
I have done three colors in the past, and looks great.
Nice one, what is the name of the color of your paint and brand?
hi, i have a question.. where can i buy that painting tool? the puffy one? i already found the paint and the glaze but i havent found that tool.. where can i buy it? cant find the roll thats divided into neither, neither one would work for me..

what are the 2 colors chosen here
What happens if your base isn't satin but matte or eggshell? This is for a bathroom that's already painted a tomato red my wife picked out. It looks nice, but I'd like to give it more depth. Thanks!
John Barry
The reason why you want your base coat to be more glossy than flat is due to the glaze. The more dull in sheen the base coat is, the faster the faux glaze coat will dry. The more glossy the base coat will relatively give you more "working or wet" time. Hence ensuring your faux finish painting success when using glazes.
TheWoolieCompany Thanks so much for that explanation! We had our bathroom professionally painted with a flat tomato red. The results are more rustic than we hoped for so wanted to liven it up a bit with faux. Do you think we still can with a base that's flat? Do you have any other methods? Thanks!
Super nice m
so, how do I buy a woolie?
I'm having trouble finding a glaze in the uk. Do you know any brands?
Darude-sandstorm

Hi
Hii
Wheres ur whites you got no paint on yourself
Interesting that she doesn't change out of her nice clothes into painting clothes.
My goodness. Come on folks have a little imagination. Names of particular paint colors are marketing wank. Look at the color and shade that she's using and get something that matches it that's it that's all there is to it you don't need the specifics of the exact tint mix formula. Come on like if you're doing a faux finish and you don't have any style or adventure in your spirit I highly suggest you hire somebody to do this because there is no exact formula or color to get a great faux finish it's really more about just letting it happen get some old paint that you have laying around mix some colors together and just have at it. Have a little imagination have a little fun stay away from home depot use stuff you already have. And actually I learned early on that you can just buy cans of paint like as if you were going to take it to have a certain color mixed up and then just don't have a color mixed up and just buy the base which essentially amounts to glaze instead of buying special faux finish glaze because that can be expensive and harder to find. I don't think it's necessary all the time. There are some specialty tools that can make it a lot easier like the wood graining tool that Woolie thing she is using looks neat I'll definitely like to try and then double rollers are something I use a lot.
can this look also be used on Stucco?
