The bloopers are one of the greatest parts of a Jackie Chan movie and one of the reasons he's one of my favourite actors. In the final version of his films you see when it all goes to plan, the flawless moves that are almost superhuman, but, he's also not afraid to show when it doesn't go to plan. The amount of broken bones, concussions, accidents he has but still powers through to finish make him one of the true greats.
Yeah man. Thats what i love about Jackie movies as well. Lole Rumble im the Bronx and Jackie Chans First Strike. He really took a beating in those movies.
He grew up in a Chinese circus. Also, he's been seriously injured many times when his stunts went wrong. I've been watching him since the early '90s, long before his first US movie. My Korean friends introduced me to his Chinese movies. Even without understanding a word of the dialogue, just watching him was enough entertainment to keep me rivetted.
The chemistry between Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan is absolute perfection. I revisit these movies a lot because they still manage to make me howl with laughter every time, plus the action just adds the cherry on top. I also feel the need to add that seeing how much Dawn is enjoying the film is fckn class! 👍

That's Jackie Chans usual film credits thing... outtakes. His earlier martial arts films show him also getting injured. Jackie Chan is also blacklisted by insurance companys because of him doing his own stunts. And because he does his own stunts, he's broken almost every bone in his body. And... he took inspiration for his comedy from Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Gene Kelly, and Harold Lloyd.
The Rush Hour trilogy was SOOOO good! Jackie and Chris had such great chemistry, the writing and dialogue were awesome, and the addition of the bloopers was just extra perfect. Your great enjoyment of it made it even better! Looking forward to the next two!

JC's parents basically gave him to a Peking opera school when he was a minor and he studied martial arts, acrobatics, acting, etc everyday, day in and out for years and eventually worked his way into kung fu films in the 70's. It took several trys for the USA to 'discover' him, but when they did...the rest is history; It's a fascinating story.
Jackie, who's name is actually Chan Kong San, which means "born in Hong Kong Chan", started training when he was 7. He was enrolled in the Peking Opera School for 10 years. Jackie chan has been doing comedy martial arts movies for decades. And showing the bloopers. In a couple of films they show him come pretty close to death. Once in project a and once in armour of god both really funny movies to. He also hurt himself pretty bad in one of his own cop movies.
Jackie Chan's career go way back to the Bruce Lee days, he was an extra with Sammo Hung in "Game of death" in 1972! Jackie Chan tried several times to make himself a place in Hollywood but he was always underrated despite being a huge star in Hong Kong movie business!
He’s been in comedy since childhood. (1962) He became more comedic in the 80’s with movies like city hunter, meals on wheels, lucky stars, operation condo, project A . So on if you want to watch the classic Chan era watch all those movies. He was/is a stuntman and stunt director and appeared in Bruce Lee movies. He famously has hooked up with Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao, and the three of them later became known as the Three Brothers or Three Dragons. He has also done serious roles like police story. "My whole life I spent on the sofa", "I am special. My mom tells me I'm special" and "We all started off as naked babies". You are hilarious! Jackie trained at the China Drama Academy. A Peking Opera School for a decade. He trained in martial arts and acrobatics. And hapkido, kung fu, karate, judo, taekwondo and jeet kun do.
"How does one learn to do this?" Jackie and most Hong Kong stunt men attended what are known as Opera Schools, where children learn martial arts, acrobatics, singing, and dancing. Two of his friends from his school, Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao, are in a lot of movies with Jackie, commonly known as his 'three dragons' era. Try Wheels On Meals and Dragons Forever.
The c4 guy towards the fronr of the movie is in reservoir dogs. His name is Chris Penn, brother of Sean Penn. Sadly, he had a substance issues and passed from am OD a while back Also, the FBI agent was the creep from Shankshank. He was also in Aliens and A Few Good Men
I love that you are reviewing this film. Jackie Chan movies are practically their own genre. One of my favourite scenes is the girl singing Mariah Carey in the car, while the bodyguards just have to put up with it. (Also watching the film was the first time I ever heard that song.) BTW, yes, that is Chris Penn, who was in Reservoir Dogs and Pale Rider. And the snitch guy at the Chinese theatre I'm pretty sure played Saul on Deadwood.
17:36 "Can someone explain to me how one learns to do these things? Because I would like to do that, but I think I might be too tall." Jackie Chan's 5'9". Of course, he also has black belts in Hapkido, Judo, Taekwondo, Jeet Kune Do and a few _other_ martial arts, the likes of which he has been practicing since he was a child.
Hitting a body of water like that from that height is like hitting a brick wall. Killed instantly. It would not save him. Also, R.I.P., Tom Wilkinson, in real life.
Jackie Chan is *the* master of Action Comedy. You should check out the video essay done by Every Frame A Painting on Jackie Chan's way of making movies, it's definitely worth a react!
Supercop (1992) AKA Police Story 3, since there is another film called Supercop* (1993), which only has him in a small cameo. Also watch Police Story 1 (1985) + 2 (1998) first if you're going to watch the 3rd. *Also called Supercop II/Mega Cop/Project S/Once Upon a Cop
I love this duo. All 3 Rush Hour movies are awesomely funny. And I must say, your laugh is infectious. It's genuine, and it's one of the things that drew me to subscribe to your channel. See you in the next one!
Chris Tucker at this point was the funniest guy in Hollywood. He was literally the next Eddie Murphy. The rest of the RH movies are good as well but i think this one was the best in the series.
I was a combat engineer straight out of highschool in the USMC...to get into things that go kaboom, you have to be slightly nutty and/or too dumb to be scared 😂
5:17 Fun Fact: C-4 cannot be detonated by a gunshot or by dropping it onto a hard surface. It does not explode when set on fire or exposed to microwaves. Detonation can ONLY be initiated only by a shockwave...such as when a detonator inserted into it is fired.
You're forgetting one thing, C-4 can also be generated by expected gross sales. There's a direct link between big explosions & sales. With large expected gross sales over-riding the need for detonators & the laws of physics.
Thank you Dawn! There's some sequels too. There's many Jackie Chan solo movies to see too. He started studying as a child at the Peking Opera. Thank you so much!
I've always been impartial to "Ginormous" as a reference to Big. A combo of Gigantic and Enormous. Jackie Chan is really fun. He has a lot of B Films be he is in some Epics, too. Cheers.
Now I can't wait for you to get to the BLOOPERS from Rush Hour 2 LOL!! I could tell you couldn't cope with all those bloopers at once! Bloopers at the end of American 80s movies like Cannon Ball Run is why he included them in his movies. You should definitely check out somo of Jackie Chans older movies from the 80s, like Project A 1 and 2, and Police Story especially.
aww sheeit, 5 mins in I couldn't continue watching. I now have to revisit the movie, and come back to this. It's too good, I hope it's still as good as I remember it.
I grew up with these type of movies like the Bad Boys movies and Hush Hour movies and I was having a bad day today but thanks to Dawn and reaction to this movie my day is good now and I love your laugh Dawn is always good to see you laughing during movies.
@17:51 I think Dawn should watch some sammo Hung movies. He's an old friend of Jackie, and he's just as acrobatic. Meals on Wheels would be a good film, they're both in it
Most Jackie Chan movies are as least comedic, if not outright comedies. He's a big fan of Buster Keaton. He was tapped as the next Bruce Lee but decided he needed a different tone.
The 2nd one is just as good if not better. If you want some good Jackie Chan movies, Who Am I, First Strike, Mr Nice Guy, Rumble in The Bronx are worth seeing. He does all his own stunts & there are bloopers & how he cherograph them. You aren't too fat either Dawn btw.
👍 Jackie's 'fighting round the world' period is one of my faves. He spends the 90s on almost permanent vacation filming and recuperating in exotic locations like Australia and Africa. Super Cop and Operation Condor are also great.
Fantastic job and another top flight reaction. Jackie Chan was a well known and popular action star in the Hong Kong cinema movement. He was box office in China but not known in the US. This and the sequel were big hits with the public and critics. I can-say this about your review… Best Reaction ever ( while clapping 👏)and about most all of yours. Great job
Dawn Marie I wish there was a way to bottle up your laugh and sell it because it is so wonderful that I think it could cure sick people, it is pure splendor, bless you!!!!!!! 💯👍😊💖💗💓❤️🎇
Please watch more Jackie Chan movies! I'm fine with you sticking with the American production ones too. When people ask who my favorite actor/actress is, Jackie Chan is always the first that comes to my mind. To answer your question how Jackie Chan came to be, he started at 7 years old in Chinese Peking Opera. This requires acrobatics, fight choreography, dancing, and singing. He then became a prolific stunt actor, even in Bruce Lee films. From there he became a popular fight and stunt choreographer, camera operator, editor, lead actor, director, singer, philanthropist, and my favorite movie credit of his, catering coordinator.
Dawn Marie you're the first person I've seen that have made the comparison between Rush Hour and The Usual Suspects; I never noticed it but yeah, it's so true. Great observation.
Yeah Rush Hour is Great Stuff Chris Tucker & Jackie Chan are Having a Blast. Please Check Out the Other Sequels In This Franchise & The Outtakes are Just Funny As Hell. Glad You Enjoyed This Dawn. Enjoy The Rest of your Day 🤣🤣
This is one of those movies that you can watch any time no matter how many times you've already seen it. It's one of the best action comedies...ever. This is one of those movies I put right up with 'The Mummy' because it's so much fun. Well, actually I think I'll change that. I'll put this up there with 'The Mummy' and 'The Mummy Returns' as well as adding...'Rush Hour 2'. That movie is actually better than the first in my opinion. The chemistry is better, the humor is funnier, and there's more action/stunts. I cannot wait for you to watch that because I know we will all hear "Best movie ever".
I think you'd enjoy some of Jackie Chan's old 80s movies with him and other students of Peking Opera School. Some of them became big in martial arts films, like Sammo Hung, while others mostly made comedies. The movies may seem a bit corny today, but they are still great entertainment. If Jackie hadn't made it as an actor he would have been a superb stuntman. Now he just takes their jobs as he always did his own stunts. But then again, there are usually a bunch of stunt work to be done for other actors as soon as he's in anything.
Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights are also worthy of a look (Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson). As for Jackie Chan's films before he made it big in America, Rumble In The Bronx, Police Story, Project A, Who Am I, Drunken Master (1 and 2) for starters.
Jackie Chan was adopted into a Peking Opera school (Chinese performance arts) when he was 5. There he learned gymnastics, martial arts, singing, etc until he was 18. His best movie is Drunken Master 2. Most of his best movies are Chinese, (relatively) low budget, and mostly focus on martial arts. Rush Hour 2 is a good follow up to this movie, but the third is pretty bad. I've seen most of his movies, and I think his best are: Drunken Master II (1994), Police Story III: Supercop (1992), Armour of God 2: Operation Condor (1991), Police Story (1985), Wheels on Meals (1984), Project A (1983), & Drunken Master (1978). Be aware that his Chinese movies were not shot with sound, and so the original soundtracks are technically Mandarin or Cantonese dubs. Many of these movies were re-released in America with English dubs, but they were also edited and replaced the music with new scores and sound effects. Generally the original soundtrack is preferred.
Jackie Chan does do all of his own stunts. I saw an interview with him that said that because of that he can’t even find an insurance company to sell insurance because he’s such a high risk that nobody wants to insure him
Though Chan started cout w/ Bruce Lee w/ his films, he made his mark in the genre w/ more comedic martial arts films of his own brand. He 1st appeared in American films w/ an all-star cast in the first Cannonball Run (1981) movie (smaller role) (also featuring Burt Reynolds, Dom DeLuise, Roger Moore, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, & Frank Sinatra (among others). Fun movie. Chan started doing end-credit bloopers/outtakes after this movie.
The 2nd one is AMAZING! If you like Jackie Chan and don't mind subtitles check out his Hong Kong films before Rush Hour as they are mainly all Action Comedies! Rush hour was Jackie's 2nd attempt at Hollywood. His first was in the Cannonball Run films. Brett Ratner the films Director was a huge Jackie Chan fan of his Hong Kong films and it was his idea to get him out to the West. Jackie has been training in Martial Arts Singing and acting since he was a child and is skilled in multiple forms of Kung-fu. He is also known to have trained in other martial arts forms such as Karate, Judo, Taekwondo, and Jeet Kun Do. Jackie does all his own stunts but in recent years has stopped doing the death defying stunts but will still do all fight scenes himself.
Jackie Chan does Chinese Wushu (Kung-Fu) and acrobatics he learned since childhood at a Chinese Opera school. Chinese Opera schools teach many skills like martial arts, singing, acrobatics and other entertainment arts.
Darlin' it was just as entertaining as the film to see you having such a good time watching it! I think your laughter brought a smile and more than a few giggles out of me even more than the film!
chan started in the chinese opra school as a child. he does his own stunts has his own stunt crew. you should also look up Sammo Hung he did alot of movies with jackie in china. he does all hs stunts as well almost as good as jacie but hes like 220 pounds

A Peking Opera School for a decade. He trained in martial arts and acrobatics. And hapkido, kung fu, karate, judo, taekwondo and jeet kun do.
"I'm special. Well, my mum tells me I'm special" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"How does one learn to do this?"
Jackie and most Hong Kong stunt men attended what are known as Opera Schools, where children learn martial arts, acrobatics, singing, and dancing.
Sadly, he had a substance issues and passed from am OD a while back
Also, the FBI agent was the creep from Shankshank. He was also in Aliens and A Few Good Men
You're my favorite reaction channel. Love your honesty and the fact that you don't get offended over movies, it's refreshing.
I love that you are reviewing this film. Jackie Chan movies are practically their own genre.
One of my favourite scenes is the girl singing Mariah Carey in the car, while the bodyguards just have to put up with it.
(Also watching the film was the first time I ever heard that song.)
BTW, yes, that is Chris Penn, who was in Reservoir Dogs and Pale Rider. And the snitch guy at the Chinese theatre I'm pretty sure played Saul on Deadwood.
Yes, Jackie Chan does his own stunts, and has a long list of injuries he's gotten while making films. This was one of the less strenuous ones for him.
17:36 "Can someone explain to me how one learns to do these things? Because I would like to do that, but I think I might be too tall."
Jackie Chan's 5'9".
"She injured him. Good girl!" 😂👏👏
In reality she wouldn't have been able to hurt a fly.
Most women aren't, much less girls.
hi dawn, Jackie Chan is a master of many martial art styles. He has studied Kung Fu, Karate, Taekwondo, and Muay Thai. I hope that helps
Funniest thing is Jackie Chan doesn't need to be a Superhero. He is a Superhero. He can just play himself.😂 He was the City Hunter.
For more Jackie Chan may I suggest Supercop? Also stars a baby Michelle Yeoh doing all her own stunts.
I second this... Supercop is my fave JC film...
Jackie Chan was trained in the Chinese Opera, which teaches a wide spectrum of skills. Many Chinese superstars came from Chinese Opera.
almost All Jackie's movies have bloopers at the end
I just figured he set off the detonators and they set off the C4, since they were both in the car trunks, but in the end, who really cares?
I thought it was an electrical connection. You always see them sticking 2 wires into it.
@@3DJapan The wires explode the detonator or blasting cap. The force of that smaller explosion causes the C4 to explode.
Artistic license is taken, more often than not, in movies. Filmmakers are of the assumption that the audience isn't as savvy as they are.
11:30 Carter's informant is played by John Hawkes (Sol Star from Deadwood)
You should watch the other Rush Hour movies...and also Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights. You'll love all of them, they are sooo funny!!!😂😂😂
I grew up with these type of movies like the Bad Boys movies and Hush Hour movies and I was having a bad day today but thanks to Dawn and reaction to this movie my day is good now and I love your laugh Dawn is always good to see you laughing during movies.
the bloopers are amazing
@17:51
I think Dawn should watch some sammo Hung movies. He's an old friend of Jackie, and he's just as acrobatic.
Meals on Wheels would be a good film, they're both in it
Love all the laughter. 2 and 3 are pretty hilarious
Jackie Chan the Drunken Master if you ever you want to see a quality movie
Most Jackie Chan movies are as least comedic, if not outright comedies. He's a big fan of Buster Keaton.
He was tapped as the next Bruce Lee but decided he needed a different tone.
"It's him, 100%!"
"Aw, goddamn."
Love it!!
Jackie Chan fact he does his own stunts
I do not think he does his own stunts anymore. But for most of his movies he has done his own stunts.
@@malelonewolf80 most likely not his recent ones
The 2nd one is just as good if not better. If you want some good Jackie Chan movies, Who Am I, First Strike, Mr Nice Guy, Rumble in The Bronx are worth seeing. He does all his own stunts & there are bloopers & how he cherograph them. You aren't too fat either Dawn btw.
👍
Jackie's 'fighting round the world' period is one of my faves.
Great job
Shanghai Noon is another well written buddy movie with Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson.
Jackie Chan is also great with Owen Wilson in "Shanghai Noon" and "Shanghai Knights."
05:21 MJ dance is legendary. Chris and MJ would laugh about Chris used his left leg to kick
Dawn Marie I wish there was a way to bottle up your laugh and sell it because it is so wonderful that I think it could cure sick people, it is pure splendor, bless you!!!!!!! 💯👍😊💖💗💓❤️🎇
Chris Penn, who is in Chris Tucker's first scene in this, is also in "Footloose(1984)."
So glad you loved this very rewatchable masterpiece.
Amazing reaction. Love it. Hope to see part 2 and 3.
Gargantuan "Don't nobody understand the words coming out your mouth!" That might be 2 😂
The combination of you and this movie, has me excited for the sequels. More please.
Jackie Chan has been a master of his craft for decades. You'll love more of his movies, like Legend of Drunken Master and Operation Condor
The Rush Hour movies are legendary. All 3 are good
Dawn Marie you're the first person I've seen that have made the comparison between Rush Hour and The Usual Suspects; I never noticed it but yeah, it's so true.
2 and 3 are also great! One of the all time great trilogies for sure.
This is the most I’ve heard Dawn laugh in a video 🤣🤣🤣. This movie is so great and I like the 2nd one even more.
Jackie Chan does do all of his own stunts. I saw an interview with him that said that because of that he can’t even find an insurance company to sell insurance because he’s such a high risk that nobody wants to insure him
We definitely need reactions to Rush Hour 2 & 3!!
Comedy reactions are the best ... your laughter is great!
He is now 70 years old and has earned the right to relax a little.
..
@@cherylcohen5700 Will always be the GOAT when it comes to stunts
Jackie Chan does Chinese Wushu (Kung-Fu) and acrobatics he learned since childhood at a Chinese Opera school. Chinese Opera schools teach many skills like martial arts, singing, acrobatics and other entertainment arts.
Darlin' it was just as entertaining as the film to see you having such a good time watching it! I think your laughter brought a smile and more than a few giggles out of me even more than the film!
Watch Meals on Wheels. Jackie Chan, Yuen Biu and Samo Hung and watch those three bouncing around a room together.
Dawn has to watch Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights! Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson make for another great comedic duo.
chan started in the chinese opra school as a child. he does his own stunts has his own stunt crew. you should also look up Sammo Hung he did alot of movies with jackie in china. he does all hs stunts as well almost as good as jacie but hes like 220 pounds
jackie also loves charlie chaplin
