You have no idea how perfect that setup was. Now when the guard wakes up and has to explain himself, the last suspicious thing he would remember is a crew member sneaking around... And would you have it, lying on top of his client's corpse is a sleeping crew member... You were never even there..
+Many A True Nerd You are apparently part of the less then 10% of the population that pulled off a Silent Assassin kill, not too far off from the fastest one either. www.pcgamer.com/hitmans-elusive-target-stats-prove-that-the-best-killers-are-on-pc/?.com&
I'm planning on buying the full game once the price has gone down to a more reasonable $20-30 range (aka like in a year from now or so); does this mean that cheapskates like me will have presumably missed out on all of the Elusive Targets?
I personally think that if you successfully complete the assassination it should be unlocked to replay it. They can keep the whole, "you fail and it's over" component, but there are so many interesting possibilities that can never be explored because it's 1 and done.
Did this target earlier today. He went up into the attic almost immediately at the start, which is where I happened to start, so taking him down quickly was actually really easy. Silent Assassin Suit Only, too!
FYI You can restart and replan the mission as many times as you want as long as you haven't killed him. Only once he's dead are you locked into escaping without being killed.
+Many A True Nerd Just about to say this. I got silent assassin by starting where you did, knocking the waiter out with the piano, throwing a coin to get the guard down as they moved to his office and then garrotting the target. Took about 5 minutes, unfortunately my PS4 decided to only record the last 2 minutes :-(
I hope they introduce a mission where if you take out the bodyguard that the target after a bit notices that he hasn't returned in a while and so changes his pattern.
I killed the Forger but sadly not as stealthly as I'd of liked. I ended up killing him in the attic with a letter opener after getting spotted. Luckily I made it out unscathed though.
It's called "Daily Challenge" in other games, usually in twinstick shooters or dungeon crawlers, like The Binding of Isaac Rebirth/Afterbirth, Spelunky, stuff like that. Basically, one seed for everyone for 24 hours, the score gets saved to a board, if you die- you can't replay the challenge, if you do it, you can't do it again. Same shtuff.
really enjoyed the mission i managed to luck out and never be spotted by the cameras by simply running from door to door and was pleased with 7:59 as a time especially as i don't know the level that well but hats off to the people at the top of the leaderboard they really know how the mechanics and the level works
There's a much easier way to erase the security cameras than standing in front of the machine, especially in Paris - just shoot it from afar. I like to stand behind the crates a couple of rooms down and target it with a silenced gun. Just don't shoot when that guard passes by the machine. You don't even need to be recorded by cameras to do it. Destroying it like this will also prevent any recordings from happening.
theres a much easier way, spawn in the same way you did then shoot the camera and run into the door to the right of it. turn on the vacuum. knock out the first guy who comes in, move him to dresser and then knock out the forgers bodyguard who comes to investigate second. then just do what you want with him while he's all alone in the room. can silent assassin the mission in under 2 minutes.
The only game I can remember that does anything similar to this is Dishonored. You had a level with a random target and you had to collect four pieces of information to figure out who the target is. However, it was a set level that didn't vanish after a few days.
This was so tense I loved it. Exactly how I'd play the game, just taking ages and then getting spotted. I would've started in the attic though, since you see him in there in the thumbnail
I killed him as the Sheikh in the attic, which is a pretty OP outfit, next to Kruger's. I thought it was too easy because Diana pretty much tells you where he'll be.
Funny, I just realized something watching the beginning of this. I may have found out one reason besides "power fantasy" why I like video games and now that I think about it, it is obvious. I'm an economist scholar and I like ethnography. I allows me to assume different roles, play different parts in various organizations and observe the people actually there while participating, and become "one of them". One of them to an extent, however. This is likely why I skip country somewhat regularly as well even if I love my native Finland. I'm now in Japan and just got done helping and organizing a huge tech entrepreneurship conference called SlushAsia, a spin off from Slush in Helsinki. So basically I find I like to skip roles, and I like to skip countries. Hence, my previous career pivoting from investment banking to IT and so on, before I took on my scholarly career. Ok, so in games I get to do one thing more than in my actual real life role and environment skipping, and that is to be essential. To become an essential person in any organization or environment, you need to commit your life pretty much to it, or at least a considerable amount of time. In games you are automatically essential, the protagonist and so on. Maybe I could make my self essential in academic circles, but rather, for me, scholarly work is just an excuse to put on a different hat every now and then, and also to work remotely on my laptop. Congrats if you read this far. It was probably utterly useless for you (unless I inspired you into academia or ethnography) but I felt like writing it as I had an epiphany. Thank you good sir, have a nice day.
This is a very well done target! I really hope IO are thinking about releasing all the Elusive Targets as DLC when the game is released on disc, maybe with the bonus suits as additional separate DLC so there's no moaning about it.
Love watching your videos sir. Because its nice to see how a normal, sane person plays these games, now me the first time i did Sapienza I missed a shot so badly that i ended up pretty much wiping out the whole town :/
As soon as I first heard of this mode, I was hoping you were record your run of this. Very nice! You are truly a Hitman Master. I wonder if its possible to do suit only silent assassin... Thanks for the video!
I done this mission in no time at all. Start undercover as Crew, and as soon as the mission starts go to the room with the paintings, the target will be in the room next to it. Flick the switch of the hoover to draw them both in to the room. Choke out the gaurd as he passes, then walk up behind the target, and snap his neck... Literally so easy it wasn't even funny. The ONLY thing that really pissed me off about it, was I completely forgot to destroy the evidence (security cams in the basement) making my almost less than 5 minute run... fucking pointless. :(
I lured away the waiter in the room with the balcony, using the piano in the next room to draw him out. I took his outfit and placed rat poison from the kitchen downstairs in the wine. Follow him to the nearest bathroom, sneak in after him, drown, escape. I was pretty pleased with it all in all.
if you go and get the iago invitation for the auction you can be in and out in like 5 minutes if your quick or 6 minutes if you tak take your time for easy drop your gun or dont bring the gun and ust get to the attic and he comes there when you load the game just have to wait for him to come up and perfect opportunity to subdue the bodyguard and kill the target
+Oliver Carpenter Kind of - Invitation to a Party had another assassin, and so did St Petersburg Revisited. I think the second guy in Amendment XXV was an assassin.
What's the point of one time missions? If you really need the whole leaderboard thing for a single player game, could the score just not get submitted after the first try? Christ, do I ever hate "social features" in single player games.
They should make it that you have only a certain amount of time to kill the elusive targets I people can't just play it and then quite so they can get a fast time
This is partly why I do not think Hitman 2016 is that consumer friendly. Becaude I do want to play the game, but basically a quarter of the content will be locked because I can not play it anymore.
This is really a "one shot" mission. I was thinking I wouldn't be able to restart etc and it was literally go and you are stuck with whatever time etc. you can't save, but can still restart the mission as long as you do it before the target dies. If he does die before you restart, then that's when you can't restart and just have to exit. This made it kinda lame to me. You could essentially follow him every where, learn everything and then just plan and restart and boom kill him. I didn't do this, I treated it as a one try only, I started in AV and avoided the camera (seriously just look at the ground it's easy as shit to avoid OR shoot it. ) and then turn the vacuum on in his apartment, knock first guy out and put him away and then kill the target when he comes in. I literally got 5 star silent assassin in under 2 minutes with a 198,000 score. It's NOT hard at all.
How is this a good idea? The longer I wait to buy the game the LESS content I get? Why not make it just one try only but allow others to play it in the future? How fucking hard can that be? Why in hell would I pay over 30 euro for this game when I know I'm paying the same amount for less? Not to mention that there will be what, 7 missions in total?
This mode is truly awful. I have to plan my life around a bloody game. Also the one-shot only is the direct antithesis of good Hitman games where you can try out different tactics. Absolutely not a fan.
Slightly disappointed that it doesn't look like you actually got anything extra for having done this successfully. Sure, you got some mastery points but you already had the level maxed out so those were worthless and even if you didn't have the level maxed out it can be just doing the normal challenges. This adds another extra challenge that's only open for a limited time, but offers no unique bonus for having completed it?
they say u get signatur suits when completing 5 then 10 and so on but, i think that sucks because we only had one target and this game is more than a month old now...
So they give rewards for milestones, but absolutely nothing at all for doing the first one? That's usually how milestone rewards work; 1, 5, 10, with the first being an incentive to do more of them.
+tpbloomfield agreed, we should of got something for the first kill but also because it took them so long to actually deliver this in the first place. I don't mean anything massive but at least something, double silverballers maybe?
You have no idea how perfect that setup was. Now when the guard wakes up and has to explain himself, the last suspicious thing he would remember is a crew member sneaking around...
And would you have it, lying on top of his client's corpse is a sleeping crew member...
You were never even there..
+maxerd2 Right, the cops are gonna go nuts not knowing who to suspect more, the bodyguard or the unconscious crew member.
And I should clarify - this Elusive Target is currently live when this video goes live - you have another 18 or so hours to try it yourself.
+Many A True Nerd Is there going to be a second video today and I am really looking forward to you playing civilization
+Many A True Nerd Why not do a Hitman kill everything, in the new hitman it's pretty much a challenge.

UT should only be unlocked once and if you ever fail it's all over
Did this target earlier today. He went up into the attic almost immediately at the start, which is where I happened to start, so taking him down quickly was actually really easy. Silent Assassin Suit Only, too!
+Manablade117 Man and you didn't post it.
curtflirt2 Hell maybe with the next elusive target I will
Manablade117 Okay
+Manablade117 I did the same thing! :D
FYI You can restart and replan the mission as many times as you want as long as you haven't killed him. Only once he's dead are you locked into escaping without being killed.
+Mike Carson Thi woud explain scores so ridiculously high that they could only have been planned perfectly.
Yep, learn his routine then replan the mission with the gear you know you'll need to get the job done easily.
+Many A True Nerd Just about to say this. I got silent assassin by starting where you did, knocking the waiter out with the piano, throwing a coin to get the guard down as they moved to his office and then garrotting the target. +Ditchdigger2005 did more or less the same, but i subdueded the bodyguard while he was leaving the office.
I hope they introduce a mission where if you take out the bodyguard that the target after a bit notices that he hasn't returned in a while and so changes his pattern.
'taken out of the picture'
heh, I get it
I like how there was a spelling mistake on the "Loaction" of his wife :D
+Isaac Allan, please correct spelling
Rekt
+Many A True Nerd Allan not doing his job right
I killed the Forger but sadly not as stealthly as I'd of liked. I ended up killing him in the attic with a letter opener after getting spotted. Luckily I made it out unscathed though.
the best disguise in paris is the Sheikh as nobody at all is suspicious of you and you can go everywhere!
SpyroTGC Yeah the sheik and Helmut are op

+TheDude i'm sure he'll try that next time - oh wait
I just ran in like a mad man and dropped a fire extinguisher right next to his ankles
You can shoot the camera recorder. You don't need to walk up to it to turn it off, you can shoot it from really any range.

you should try the wolf among us for a series

"out of my way, i'm important." lmao 19:25
I suspect that like most scored leaderboards, the very top scores are memory injected cheats and can be discarded.
As soon as I first heard of this mode, I was hoping you were record your run of this.
Very nice! You are truly a Hitman Master. I wonder if its possible to do suit only silent assassin...
Thanks for the video!
They should take out the option to start with a disguise in these elusive target missions.
I absolutley love your hitman videos! Thank you very much.
when the full game is out you should do a permadeath for it, just a suggestion might be cool
that's a very good idea.
Jon I absolutely adore your Fallout 4 Survival Mode series and Stelaris series, I just wish that you'd make them more often!
I done this mission in no time at all. Start undercover as Crew, and as soon as the mission starts go to the room with the paintings, the target will be in the room next to it. From 13:34 (and without the context), you sound like you're pondering about something entirely different :P Great video as always!

+Many A True Nerd will you consider doing a kill everything run of Hitman once all the episodes are out or periodically as they come out :D?
1:33 - Anyone else notice 'location' is misspelled?
Love it! Shame the leaderboards system doesn't let you skip to your score!
Good show Jon, good show.
Has there ever been a hitman mission where your goal is to assassinate another assassin?
+Oliver Carpenter Kind of - Invitation to a Party had another assassin, and so did St Petersburg Revisited. I think the second guy in Amendment XXV was an assassin.
+Oliver Carpenter Blood Money had a mission like that.
+Oliver Carpenter Temple city ambush in Silent assassin 2, you had to kill 2 out of 5.
episode 2 but no...
+Oliver Carpenter A Dance With The Devil had a couple of assassins also
thanks developers for another 5 minutes of gameplay
when the time runs out will there ever be another Elusive Target agane
The disadvantage to killing someone with a silenced gun is that it leaves blood.
Games that are single player, but basically force you to sign in to an online server is almost as bad a microtranactions
Dude, there ain't no glitch. You ran someone over.
Hey, that's pretty cool.
What's the point of one time missions? If you really need the whole leaderboard thing for a single player game, could the score just not get submitted after the first try? Christ, do I ever hate "social features" in single player games.
Cool, cause from now on i wont have any internet for two weeks. OH ISNT LIFE GREAT!
I'm sorry Bro
They should make it that you have only a certain amount of time to kill the elusive targets I people can't just play it and then quite so they can get a fast time
thanks for killing the target for me

Is it only on ps4
How many more of these are there going to be?
+Mega Best pic EVAR!!!!!!!
+Mega well At least 10 for sure for the rewards they published. But i'm pretty certain we will have more cause we have 4 episodes left
I read it as "The Frogger"
GG!
when do all the missions come out??
+lts Kas about October
+lts Kas September/October, with the on disc version due at the start of 2017.
I like the idea, but frankly I just got MGS 5 and I'd rather play that.
hit man kill everything?
are you going to do the congress man this weekend?

theres not even a dislike

Jon do you watch Eurovision?
This mode is truly awful. I have to plan my life around a bloody game. Also the one-shot only is the direct antithesis of good Hitman games where you can try out different tactics.
Absolutely not a fan.
This contract was v disappointing - I SASO'd it in less than 5 minutes. It took me longer to escape than it did to do the hit
+Sam All you have to do is Start Attic - climb down to his room, distract the guard with a coin, kill forger, knock guard out then gtfo

1 minute and 17 views already :/
420 viems time to blaze
damn I'm early
45th
Wait, this game has release windows for the actual game and dlc that expires? Whoa. Yall Hitman fans are suckers.
This kind of game development is both creative and shitty. I could understand an unknown product/studio trying this, but Hitman is 20 years old.
