Thanks Gill. Yes was plenty to do in the area - and the coast line isn’t as well explored as others I find.
All the best, David & Rachel 👍

Thank you - It’s a lovely ride through beautiful countryside, another one which brings back fond memories from when I think I was single digits of days out with the family. It was great to revisit and loved the journey along the line. The food in the pub was great and it had a nice atmosphere about it (certainly over the lunchtime we were there). Fascinating watching them turn the train around. All the best to you both and Maya and Luna, David & Rachel ❤️

It is a lovely area of the world, and from somebody that visits railways every week and is currently saving up for a camper I have to say this video ticks a lot of boxes for me :D

Thank you - it’s a great area and the railway goes through some amazing countryside - the campsite was great too - good luck with the saving up and living the campervan dream - I’m sure you will love it as very complementary hobby - all the best, David & Rachel 👍

You were not far from us at Englethwaite Hall and Troutbeck Head. Looks like a nice spot and who doesn’t love a ride of a steam train?! 😃👍🏻 Trev

Thanks Trev, was great to take a ride on the train as it had been many, many years since I last went on the Ravenglass railway. Can’t beat it can you 😀
We we’re closer than you think on Saturday afternoon/Sunday Morning at Troutbeck Head (we were at the other end of the site by the beck - you were out when we went past or would have said hello 😀)

@@LeisureBit Ah... didn't realise that. We were out to dinner at The Mill just up the road. We went with 6 others and had a great meal. I didn't video much from there this year. Weather wasn't very kind to us was it ? 🙂

@@PoshcatsCamping weather hasn’t been too kind in the west this week at all - shame as you can get some lovely days can’t you - we’re back to the north east tomorrow - still in the west at Silloth tonight but definitely not a kind few days at all from the weather 🌧️

Great Railway there David & Rachel, I had to survey the Ravenglass end about 3 years ago, A66 Cafe you must have been heading east then, huge chicken sheds opposite there now. Cheers K.

It’s a lovely little railway - a bit different with it being smaller - interesting that you had to survey the Ravenglass end.
Yes that’s right it was on the way back we called at the A66 cafe - remember when it was the Little Chef?

Lovely stop, really enjoyed this one thank you, the railway and cafe etc. looked fab ❤ Also the coast there is so unspoiled and usually quieter too, we haven’t yet been in our van but will add to the list now 👍 Great fun in the water too plus so well behaved in the pub 🐶 We made Mollie watch for tips 😁

Thank you - the coast is great on the west coast isn’t it and rarely is it too busy also. Definitely recommend, and well worth a trip on the train - I last went on when I was a young lad so was quite nostalgic to go back. Lovely countryside too. Roxy has her moments but generally is pretty good unless she gets spooked with something - hopefully Mollie didn’t pick up any bad habits! Have a good rest of the week and weekend. All the best, David & Rachel. Roxy says hello to Mollie too! 🐾

Hi David & Rachel nice to see the weather was better than when you were in Maryport such a little gem of a place Ravenglass is especially in the summer months car parks soon fill up
Myself and Sheila often go down and watch the world go by
The railway is also known as La'al ratty La'al In cumbrian means small
The cafe on the A66 used to be a Little Chef along time ago Remember them
All the best keep up the great vids

Hi Malcolm and Sheila, yes the weather had improved some what after Maryport which was great. We stopped at Tesco in Workington on Monday on the way back to Silloth 😀
Great to know what La’al means - thank you.
I remember when the cafe on the A66 was the Little Chef 👩‍🍳

Can’t say I’ve heard of this line but that said I don’t do narrow gauge lines, the only one I’ve done is the Ffestiniog in Porthmadog, I hope you don’t mind a tiny critique here but that same song you’re using in every vlog recently is getting really repetitive now…
Campsite looked like it was just the job tho.
    What happened to the ending?
Soooo Rachel what did you think of……

    • @LeisureBit
      @LeisureBit  2 года назад +1

Ah the ending - we are not sure what happened to the ending and then decided not to record a replacement ending. Should be back to normal going forward so long as the ending gremlin doesn’t strike again! 👻
Ref music - I got flack for too much variation in the music so did some research and it advised more consistency. The particular music we’ve been using we both thought represented some of our story so kind of conscious decision to be more consistent and less “random”. Appreciate your feedback though as always will have a ponder 🤔
      All the best, David 👍

@@LeisureBit fair enough, I don’t do music so I’ll bow to the research. 👍

    • @LeisureBit

Out of interest is it the intro track or the backing instrumental track repeating (or both)?
It would be great if RUclips allowed you to have optional music track so you could switch off the music if you didn’t want it - could even have a more or less jazzy option 🤔
