Yes but the problem is, if you don't put a ton of sugar in sweet things, you can't hide the fact that it has no good taste of its own. That's why all the cheap candy is so sweet.

Hahaha! So true about the"it's not overly sweet" comment. This is really the first thing we say when we want to compliment a dessert. Because to us, that means the dessert is perfectly balanced in flavour.
I love Vietnamese food. It’s so fresh, tasty, a bit of spice and crunchy texture. The banh mi is fabulous (gotta find a good place though). That first restaurant knew they were onto a good thing with Mikey in the house.

When you mentioned how that first sip of some amazing ramen or soup gives you that emotional connection, that hit home. I strive to always improve in my ramen or soup skills in general. My favorite is red pork Pozole and I like to eat it with ramen as well as the hominy corn. Its fire.

The first thing you should smell from BBH is lemongrass. Great places use fresh not dried. As a child my mom took me to this BBH place in Vung Tau. It was our favorite place and the ladies was hue and she had pineapple in the broth. Best BBH I've ever had and I've yet to have a bowl as good as hers in America.
