Yeah I actually had a black woman ask me who was singing this song at the gas pump. This kind of pro Jesus music has gotten burried with the beast system taking over
@@ThisHandleIsntAvailableTryANew old country and folk have such an overlap in traditions with the more “black-centric” blues. Good American music is good american music, everybody recognizes it. Country folk and blues are all a man needs
I am one of those who wishes I could have been around when this sound was in its prime and that I could have danced a few rounds to Ernest and the like. There is just nothing like it anymore.
Cal had the hit, but Ernest is hard to beat...saw his @ Cactus Jack's in Memphis late 70's/early 80's. was one of my grandmother's favorites in the 40s and I'm going to see him in concert 40 years later. WOW!!!
V people say I'm not old enough to listen to country music like that but I was born in 1968 my mom and dad grew up on it in the 70s and I always love the old songs I want to listen to some people now to this age I have to have a liking and be a follower
Outstanding artist. Right up there with Jimmie Skinner, The Carter Family and Hank Williams. Very talented and had a long career. Great song - also recorded (before Tubb) by Cal Smith and also by Carl Perkins.
Love ernest Tubb so much! This music is way ahead of it's time, or its us who are behind! The lessons in his songs are great, wish I could play them in a church ha~
Guess you can say it too. Wow I'm so glad you feel this way about me that year that night conceived right fern now. I think that hurts worse then your parents saying I love you
The great E.T. was closer to the end than to the beginning, but this is one of many terrific recordings (this one of a song by Whisperin' Bill Anderson and originally recorded by Tubb's protege, Cal Smith) proving that Tubb only got better as he went on.
Charley Pride said in an interview that how he measures today's country music to traditional country music. He started with Ernest Tubb and Roy Acuff and ended at George Strait. After that they're what he'd term the hat gang.
Right when these old country songs turn on I’m immediately transported to a Texas country western bar….this music is hypnotizing
Country will never be as cool as this stuff.
What😂 this is country
@@chasehall6393 he obviously means country going forward, as in modern country. He knows it country Ffs!

I am one of those who wishes I could have been around when this sound was in its prime and that I could have danced a few rounds to Ernest and the like. There is just nothing like it anymore.
So do I, but there are still a few traditional style artists.
Put it on the juke and grab a mature woman down at the beer joint. You can still whoop it up. I do.
