So this was originally a compilation CD by David Byrne where he did duets with a slew of amazing artists like Cyndi Lauper, Sia, Fatboy Slim, etc. The production started at The Public Theater in midtown Manhattan in early 2013. I was an usher there at the tint, and there was so much work and choreography that involved not only the cast, but a large crew of background stage crew that involved moving several small stages off and on the main floor. I was lucky enough to see David Byrne on a regular basis, as he was heavily involved with every step of the show. And Ruthie Ann Miles as the original star playing Imelda Marcos was just amazing. I loved being a part of this musical theater history. It was just over 10 years ago, but I won't forget it.
it’s a shame they tried to use all backing tracks and no musicians, because that’s left a really sour taste in my mouth about this show, but it looks like a lot of fun!
Disco in the 70's was mostly tracks, not live music, at least in the Philippines where the story unfolded. In a way the show was true in essence to the detriment of the Broadway musician's union or whatever.

I watched the show last night. It was brilliant!!!
The dance floor is the place to be
Excellent!
My favorite was Lea's Just ask the flowers.

Have you watched it? Right after they freeze the show?
Watched it and it was still a really good time, but yeah the fact that it was all backing tracks really took away from the performances
