"The last good MTV in Europe" Obviously, they were also the last channel to air Party Zone and Chill Out Zone (until July 2, 2017, just 1 day before they removed all non-music programming). MTV Adria was the OG MTV Europe of all MTV European channels. Known for favoring more music over non-music and BS, it wasn't widely known until some viewers were able to watch Party Zone and Chill Out Zone. The channel was pure heaven to those who watched MTV before since 1987. During the time when reality programming was already trash for MTV in the entire Europe (let us say, the late 2000s and the 2010s), MTV Adria had a strategy to lessen the non-music programming by increasing its music programming ratio by 80%. That's a programming ratio of 80/50. And, pretty much in the 2000s, almost all of the MTV channels in Europe had continued airing Alternative Nation, Party Zone and even Chill Out Zone. The reason why it closed down (in my opinion) was that Viacom ordered MTV Adria to shut down the channel, because the channel didn't want to rebrand during 2015 and the channel didn't want to follow Viacom's orders to air more on reality programming, and rather playing on more music instead. One issue that this channel has run into was the aspect ratio scaling. From the early 2010s, 16:9 content tend to squeeze to 4:3, the same thing also happened when it transitioned to widescreen, but instead, it's 4:3 to 16:9 stretching. Even worst, 16:9 letterboxed music videos would also be stretched.
Chill Out Zone! Man! While I never had MTV Adria (sadly, I'm not living in a country that had it), VH1 Europe had a Chill Out block every weekday from 04:00 to 06:00. I loved it. They just got rid of it. And since then, I don't watch the channel...
Coincidence, U2's Beautiful Day was technically, the first music video to air on that channel. MTV Adria went downhill from September 18, 2017 (when they started to ditch the rest of the countdown programmes and genre-themed music programming) to the first day of 2018, where they closed down. MTV Adria from July 3, 2017 until the first day of 2018 became a channel like MTV Music 24 and VH1 Europe.
Weirldy, The first song which was played when it was launched and when it was closed was Beautiful day by U2
Sad day. The last good MTV in Europe is gone...
Must agree with this.
strowger79 MTV UK is great (the music channels)
MTV UK Is pure s**t, even MTV Russia is better

And before, it was a great cannel like MTV Latin América and MTV Europe :-(
That definitely wasn't a coincidence.
i think it deserved a better send off, a message at the end or something... too bad
RIP
The last song of MTV Adria was Beautiful Day by U2
