I lost 40lbs by walking 20,000 steps 3x or 4x per week, drinking a lot of water, eliminating alcohol and sugar beverages, and staying within my daily calorie allowance. I never cut carbs nor sweets. I just eat those things in moderation. It’s about lifestyle and not about quick weight loss. My goal is to focus on weight maintenance after I lose another 20lbs.💪🏾

    • @RenSayLess
      @RenSayLess 3 месяца назад +6

The maintenance is only the hard part when the weight loss method wasn't sustainable. For example - restrictive eating, excessive exercise, long fasts, etc.
when weight loss is slow, it's bc healthy habits are being built in regards to moderation and the integration of foods we enjoy are being folded into the lifestyle. when THAT is learned, "maintenance" is simply your lifesyle.

Biggest misconception about working out is that it has to be intense to get results. That’s far from the truth. Walking 5-10k steps a day would do wonders to your body. Infact, I recommend walking as opposed to running as it’s easier to stick with.

You can definitely still have your chick fila and still lose weight. Start small so you dont overwhelm yourself and do what works for you so that it’s something you can sustain. Everyone is different and everyone’s lifestyles are different. I say the top things to do:
      1. Calorie deficit. Calculate it on line. Look up TDEE. Track what you eat, even if it’s bad.
      2. Eat protein (eat your goal weight in grams)
      3. Walk. Get steps in. Try to work your way up to 8-10k a day.
      4. Allow yourself to have a cheat meal once in while but not an entire cheat day. You can even have a cheat snack weekly just as long as you’re staying in a calorie deficit. What helped me not binge was not bringing my cravings home. So instead of buying a whole family size pack of cookies. I would try to buy just 1 from like the bakery or something so there was no temptation at home.
      5. If you can try to do someone form of physical activity or exercise( strongly suggest strength training & weights) 3-5 a week. It doesn’t have to be lifting weights as I know it isn’t for everybody.
Good luck. I’m on the same journey. I tend to gain weight and and gain it back but I think this time around I’ve figured out how what works for me to not gain it back.

I had lasik 7 years ago and I am very happy I did. Make sure to go to a reputable doctor that will check if you're eligible and not just do the surgery for money.
The actual procedure is about 5 min long (the longest part was the wait and signing paper work). I was able to see better immediately after, just note you will need someone to drive you home as your eyes will be extremely sensitive to light. Be prepared for a ton of drops over the next few days as these will aid in healing and keep your eyes from getting infected.
Also I recommend having you hair freshly done so you dont have to worry about washing it and water/soap getting into your eyes. Note, you CANNOT rub your eyes for a little while as the cornea is healing.
As I said, im so happy did this as I've been wearing contacts/glasses since I was 8. Hope this helps

@@sls4170 I went to Dello Russo. If one of their offices is not near you, make sure to check all the reviews and ask around. Besides them being popular, I liked that they had no problem telling people if their eyes were not good candidates. More people got LASIK than you think and they will be able to tell you.
When I got it done, I paid $4k. But that was years ago and with inflation, idk how much that would be now, but don't get sucked into a scam. There is currently a lawsuit against a laser eye company that said $300 an eye or something like that.
It's expensive and rightfully so. Your eyes are extremely important. And even after you checked everything out and it doesn't feel right to you. Walk away.

I did some research and realized that I was taking 4 different medications that are known for weight gain. As for Lasik surgery...GO FOR IT!! I started wearing glasses at 9 yrs old and my sight had declined over the years where I became dependent on them. At the age of 40 I decided to get Lasik surgery and it was the best thing I ever did. You literally have 20/20 vision immediately! The procedure lasts less than 5 mins and recovery time is minimal. Lasik is literally THE best decision I've ever made. I ended up flying out to Bogota, Colombia for my procedure. I paid $650 for everything. I had a pre-op appt. with my Dr. (he was recommended by eye Dr. here in MIA) I would highly recommend going to a consultation wherever you live first being that not everyone is considered a good candidate for it. Once you do that gone head & fly out it's wayyyyy cheaper. In MIA I was gonna pay 4k because of how bad my vision was but literally with my roundtrip flight, ubers to and fro while in Colombia, all of the food I ate, & my hotel stay, I only spent $1,200 at the most. It was a 10/10 experience and I got a vacation out of it.

Thank you for sharing this video. I’m right at 185 and trying to get back to 145 hopefully. I agree the beginning is really hard, I’ve decided to stop eating too much rice because it’s killing me. Hopefully I get consistent with time. It’s also important that we all remember to give ourselves grace when we mess up and get right back to doing it right. Wishing everyone watching this the best weight loss journey. Cheers, and you look really good. ❤

These are some amazing simple ways to get started and stay consistent. I’ve had lasik for 7yrs now and I love it. I would say the only thing that bothers me is my eyes are sensitive to light. So when outside I have to wear sunglasses and even sometimes even the tv, phone and laptop light can be annoying. But you turn the light down or wear blue light glasses.

I’m trying to reset my eating habits and routine, so this was super helpful and relatable! I started warming at a bakery last February and steadily put on ALOT OF weight through the year. I noticed most of jeans fitting tighter, and then into the winter most just didn’t fit. I finally weighed myself in December and saw I was in the 190s😞 I really don’t eat big portions or eat out that often, so I couldn’t figure out what caused me to put on so much weight. But then I thought back to what I eat at work… I’m surrounded by pastries and sweets, and can get a drink every shift. So I was probably having a wild amount of carbs and sugar through the year. It’s hard to realize how unhealthy something is for you when it’s your normal or you’re surrounded by it. I made a commitment to get back in shape before the holidays, and have been modifying my eating and grocery shopping to focus on clean/protein packed meals. It’s been about 3 weeks of mindful eating and I feel a lot better! I really want the weight to shed fast, but I know it will in time.

You are a gentle influencer and I love your makeup. I used to workout so hard, I find myself cringing now. It was fine when I was younger, but I'm 67 now and switched to Supernatural Virtual Reality workouts, but it's so enjoyable, but sometimes that feeling of "exercise" seeps back into my head and I need to override it and finally get over it. I do enjoy it and want to eventually include resistance again. Who knows? Maybe I'll also bring pilates and ballet back. Next week I'll restart my VR training again. The other programs will come on later. Thank you for the video.

Went back to balanced eating this week. I've been in the gym consistent for about a month but was still eating as I wanted so I was still.gaining weight! It's been a little under a week that I've been on a calorie deficiet, eating about 1700 calories a day. I use the exercise bike at a high inclined 1 hr to 1.25 hours and then go into about 30min to 45 min of weight training. I prioritize protein and keep a snack in my car for after the gym. I weighed myself Monday and I'm 7 pounds down! I had Gained about 30 pounds over the summer after losing almost that amount lats summer! Muscle memory is real. Not only do I feel satiated and less triggers to over eat, but weighing myself a few days apart was just the boost I needed to keep it up! I can see my body changing at its so motivating

Love the video! Great advice! Also, I'm not the best candidate for Lasik however you can always do a lense change. Its the same procedure they do for cataracts but they can also fix your astigmatism as well, if you have one.

I got Lasik in 2020, BEST decision ever!! It was painless and literally only took like 2mins. 2mins to open my eyes and see clearly. Mind blown lol. The first few hours after surgery you'll have to keep your eyes closed and it will kinda feel like there's gravel/gains in your eyes. It's not painful just odd and a little annoying. For the next 2 weeks or so (I can't remember), but you'll constantly have to put in the rewetting drops and your eye meds to make sure you heal right and don't get an infection. It's very easy. I'm so thankful to be able to see lol.
Oh, for the drops I bought this box of 100 individual use drops from Amazon. It's nice because you don't have to worry about contamination

Hi! Commenting about lasik.. I got it about a decade ago and I definitely recommend. I never was able to get contacts in, and I was tired of wearing glasses. I recommend 100%. I think my vision did get a little worse due to looking at screens for the past 3 years. But I definitely still do not need glasses. I had astigmatism before the surgery, and now I don’t experience any issues with that either.

Thanks for inspiring others looking for a way of losing unwanted weight. I lost 42 lbs in less than 3 months best feeling ever. I did a lot of walking myself but my major issue was despite exercising daily for months, I struggled everyday with my calorie intake. It was also impossible for me to eat less. It felt like I was not in control of my actions. Adding Phenq pills just made my journey easier. Eating less became possible and I also had enough energy to exercise.

Just came across your vid... cute video! Love the messy up-do that turned into a dope wedding style😜. Make-up *chef kiss*🤌🏽
thank you for sharing your experience. it was super encouraging as I'm in that "I know I need to get back up but not doing enough" mindset.
This concept was also my approach to losing weight (pre baby). I did achieve my goal weight (150lbs) in 2019, and was well on my way to acquiring my goal "physique". Now, post baby, I will be taking the same approach, but knowing in this round I just need to push myself more bc I can handle it, I will be weight training from the start. Water is def key essential. Pre-baby, I drank nothing but water. During my pregnancy it was a struggle. However, I remained eating healthy all throughout... I was damn near vegetarian LOL. Post baby, its been hard to eat healthy and drink water. But ever since I've been using that Stanley 40 oz Tumbler, I drink 80 oz of water per day. I started working out again earlier this year, but I've since fell off cause life got crazy. I do intend on starting again tho.
For reference: I was 190lbs prior to reaching my goal weight.

I had lasik done in 2018 and it was the best thing I could have done. I wake up every morning and can see the clock that is across the room or my phone right in my face. I can go swimming and don't have to worry about not being able to see or something getting on my contacts. I was told at 40 everyone will have to look into getting Readers but hopefully with less screen consumption, you can extend that to 50. I would say go for it, it's a really good investment. And thank you for the weight loss advice. I will be sharing this video with my family to start living a healthier life along with me.
