I just want to point out that for the mm Zelda reference, the camera zooms in on _puppet_ Zelda, and in mm, the camera zooms in on skull kid. Towards the ending of mm, skull kid is referred to as a _puppet_ by majora. Just ties these two scenes even closer.
@@cravonomire9971 Not just the DLC. It's in the scene in the final memory when Fi/the Master Sword tells Zelda to get Link to the Shrine of Resurrection!
@@cravonomire9971Also, though it doesn't necessarily sound like it, near malice enemies (BOTW) or gloom enemies (TOTK) the master sword will make a sound.
2:51 that melody is actually just a fragment of the TotK theme played on a similar kind of flute used in Fi's theme. the instrumentation was probable intentional, though!
We actually hear Fi in BOTW as well. In the final memory when Link falls and Zelda's sealing power is finally awoken, the Master sword makes the same sound. Fi is telling Zelda that Link can still be saved.
If you go to the Shrine of Resurrection in the Great Plateau, you'll find a schema stone for a bike called the Beam Cycle. A reference to the Master Cycle in BOTW's DLC, which you also began by returning to the beginning area of the game.
There's a few more references to other Nintendo games -The shrine at the akkala sky labyrinth is a Mario Kart 8 track -The flute player quest for the fairies has the flute being played as fireflies rise up to look just like Offseeing in Xenoblade 3 -The bargainer statues (the ones with full bodies) have the unique body shape of the Bionis from Xenoblade 1 -The Muctorok boss fight is a reference to Splatoon gameplay and probably also Mario Sunshine
Fi's theme is not in the cutscene at 2:50, but it IS in Link's cutscene where he sends the sword back in time. The one at 2:50 is, as several people have said, more of a rearrangement of the TotK main theme.
4:07 I never see people talk about this but Puppet Zelda turns into a light and flies away just like how Link does after clearing a divine beast in Botw
I really like how Penn's sources for leads also imply that the Rito can communicate with, or at the very least understand birds' chirps. I don't think there are any hints of the Zora communicating with fish. (Or Gorons communicating with rocks? lol)
The reason Fi makes her sound in this game is because they wanted to put everything from the dlc of BOTW into TOTK and Fi's sound was in a totk flc cutscene
Yeah, and Demise didn't casted a curse when he was defeated, he was stating karma, that Hylia and the Demon tribe are cursed to fight forever (that's clearer in the Japanese text), Ganon was just the next Demon King, and as Ganondorf was out of the picture in Spirit Tracks, we had Malladus as the new Demon King.
5:14 calling this a reference to demise specifically is quite deceptive because ganon has been refered to as the demon king in every game he appears in be it a boss title card or someone else referring to him as such. It is usually used for his alternate forms but it still isnt entirely accurate to say SPECIFICALLY demise
"Except this Imprisoning War was ended by the King of Hyrule and not the Seven Sages" The King is very clearly counted as one of the Seven Sages as even the picture from ALTTP used in the video says "The Seven Sages' descendants, one of which being Princess Zelda". So she's obviously a descendant of Rauru. The Imprisoning Wars are obviously one in the same and I have no idea why Zelda fans are so pedantic as if the Zelda developers give the slightest shit about consistency. They like to make games in the same universe as one another, but not put any effort to keep it consistent. Ocarina of Time was created to BE the Imrprisoning War and was only retconned to not be it later when they wanted to make Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. This is a series you either need to decide the timeline yourself, or just take what is stated to you at face value, because it's never going to line up perfectly.
yeah well put. and in a lot of elements totk and it's premise is very similar to ocarina of time. wouldn't call it a soft reboot, but the sages, the elemental temples, even some of the cutscenes like Ganondorfs Fealty" felt like a reference to that scene in OoT where Zelda point out Ganondorf through her window in the inner gardens). think it was Aonuma himself stating they didn't mind previous lore all that much anyway. tbf I thought it sucked to hear that at first, and bc of all the theorising based on the trailers, people became infatuated with the ideas it brought about. if you can put that aside, totk is objectively a damn amazing game and at least to me my fav next to OoT. plus these games are almost tailor made to have you theorise on your own and create your own ideas about "what might've happened and what clicks with what". it's called Legend after all and a lot of those are often exaggerated bs 😂
@@gregpl9363 Yeah, if I remember, their statement on the connectivity of the games was something like "It's something we think about, but we don't hold ourselves to it" which I partially understand, but at the same time, what's the point of making them connected when you ignore some very glaringly obvious things. I can be fine with smaller stuff or even just unimportant parts slipping by and I don't need the same map every time, but I just wish they'd take a little more care than they do
Hot dang, these are good. And I'm usually pretty skeptical about videos like this. Most of these seem undeniable. Wait also did you just call Duck Hunt a first person shooter :P
Did you know that when you meet with hoz in tears of the kingdom you can also meet him in breath of the wild I forgot where but my dad played and i saw him meet with hoz I think thats pretty cool how the game tears of the kingdom brings hoz back yay!
I believe he's at the stable near the akkala tech lab in botw, just doing his guardly duties. I thought it was pretty cool that they re-purposed a very minor character to have a bit more of an important role in the sequel
im gonna throw something out there which is not as much an Easter egg but rather something that popped in my mind about King Rauru. knowing the Japanese language often uses "Ru" as an "L" ( Zeruda = Zelda). if that's the case, then ever since ocarina of time, this name was always meant to be "King Raul" ( RauRU = RauL) boom...mind blown right?😏🤣🤣 nah jk, but did think it a funny coincidence.
I don't think that's Fi's theme that plays subtly when Zelda approaches the Decayed Master Sword... It's essentially note-for-note with the main BotW theme
I wouldn't call these easter eggs, they're more like references since they aren't hidden background details, and some of these are just cross-game continuity/lore
My mom and I _hated_ Fi with a burning passion, so when we heard her little sound our hearts dropped and I was like "no. Nope. No way." And my mom said "absolutely not." Thank fck that she wasn't actually in it. Every freaking time, we cringed. Even at the very end 😭
Are there other fun surprises in this game I didn't mention? Thanks for watching, you're much appreciated!

yeah its strangely a theme to him

nice video! although just wanna mention that im pretty sure Fi’s theme 2:50 is just part of the predrop of the totk theme, its the same notes
I agree

that's great stuff. i'll have to find a few more and make another video sometime
That Duck Hunt reference is great! Thanks for pointing that out!
also a stretch, but for the first one on Maestro's easter egg:
Both are Italian names/words, start with M, and end with O.
Daaang, that'd totally have gone into the script if it wasnt too late.
Fi's theme is not in the cutscene at 2:50, but it IS in Link's cutscene where he sends the sword back in time. The one at 2:50 is, as several people have said, more of a rearrangement of the TotK main theme.

The way you present information and your humor are just so entertaining to watch.
I've never seen the mario character portraits in OoT before. Crazy!

Can't say calling Ganon the Demon King is a reference to Demise since Ganon had the title since Zelda 1 and it was also held by Malladus.

Further cementing the reason I call the master sword Fi
And when the sword is low on engery it’s her saying master your batteries are low

the first one totally isnt a stretch, I noticed IMMEDIEATLY when he said Yahoohoo that it was a reference to mario, it definatly is.
02:53 The song playing here isn't Fi's theme, it's actually a slow rendition of part of TotK's main theme.
wow that last one was pretty dope, i played that game all the time was i was a kid and didn’t see that connection
