@Ziqver Exactly. By the same token you could say there's no creativity in taking a photograph, rendering an image, or writing a comment. The camera or computer has done everything for you, there's no decision making process involved. When writing with a device, you no longer have to think about grammar or spelling because it fixes it for you, and will even predict the next word. Obviously, if you want to be truly creative, you have to pick up a paper and pencil, and make it yourself.
@Ziqver That's my point. You recognize the inherent creative decisions when pointing a camera and yet disregard that same creative process with image generators. I agree that most things made with an image generator is slop, but you could say the same thing about cameras. Most pictures that people take are not very interesting. But to claim that it's impossible to use image generators creatively lacks imagination.
Drawing apps don’t need AI honestly. Seems more like a pencil company saying they won’t steal your drawings, an obvious and popular stance to take with people that love drawing (something that’s not going away, lol)
Job section get's outdated overnight but tips, tricks, and info on searching jobs, what a good salary is, why a good job, etc. e.g. the Meet the Hiring Team tip is pure gold.

These weekly videos are great. Some say they feel like ad runs, but I at least like to get an easy-to-digest overview of new tools. Really appreciate these!
"It's a piece that stands out not for its super technical execution or jaw-dropping design but from how brilliant and clever the idea is". An often overlooked part in any work.
Yesss!! Info on JObs would be really helpful and more over jobs for remote working/freelancer would be amazing! Yet again a brilliant Motion Mondays video!
Guys, the week update is really useful and enjoyable to watch! Thanks for keeping us tuned with all of every week CG news. Deeply appreciate your hard work
I dont mind AIs useage in general but really love procreates commitment to human made art. AI becomes no longer just a tool when it makes creative choices for you.
The hiring gig roundup is super helpful. I never would have thought to look at companies like Walmart or Coinbase. The hiring landscape looks pretty dry from where I sit.
2 years experience isn’t Entry Level, it’s Wage Theft. Would love to hear more news about remote work opportunites. Not so much the actual job posts themselves, but industry trends or companies that have hired fully remote roles.
Whether Procreate's rejection of AI is a good move or not, I think having principles and sticking to them is good. Too many people treat new technology as this thing that just happens to you, and you have no agency and that even thinking of anything else is foolish, arrogant and almost immoral. It's insane. New technology is not the same as human progress and isn't entitled to our support, especially when that tech has the problems generative AI has. I work with generative AI all the time, and it regularly blows my mind it even works, but the one thing it has made me aware of is the need to be informed and conscious with this tech. These folks who want to shame people by talking about how they'd still be using horse and cart miss a flaw in their point; cars weren't all upside, for all they've enabled, they're a huge contributor to climate change that we're barely even close to dealing with. If nobody's challenging these technologies, pointing to the downsides and showing a different way of doing things then we're all just sleepwalking into whatever issues they bring.
@lynmeredith8405 I disagree. I think we're shooting ourselves in the foot if we're not willing to explore these tools. If artists don't figure out how to use it creatively and ethically, then we leave it up to corporations to decide, which is only motivated by job reduction and profit. I think we as artists need to show corporate interests and the public that these tools are 100x more effective with artistic skills. On top of that, if you actually use the node editing interfaces, you'll quickly understand that it's extremely creative and technical software that can do things simply not possible in any other medium. If you consider the folk story of John Henry racing against the rail driving machine. Imagine if he could assemble his own machine for his own needs. These tools are currently free and open source. This is a very rare time in history in which anyone can use this technology to the same degree, if not more, than the commercial options, and ironically, the people that potentially could be doing the most with it are rejecting it out of misdirected fear and anger.
Thought there was something broken on my computer due to the audio. I'm partially deaf in my right ear. Through the headphones it sounded like an inaudible soft whisper. 😕 The Jobs Round Ups is awesome! Keep it. Even if I'm not looking, it still gives me a good idea of where to look if I want to look for a new job.
Love these Joey! so helpful. The jobs board is interesting, I would say keep it up. As someone who's just ditched Full-time and returning to Freelance; the jobs aren't always relevant to me, or a good geographic match, but it's a good indication of what KIND of jobs are popping up.
Priceless info from start to finish.... Keeping an eye on industry developments across various sectors (yep, even job opportunities provide insight)... Salute!
Thank you for mentioning us and our crazy fast renderer Render Brain! May all After Effects users will have the chance to ditch Media encoder and long renders. AMEN!
Question, why is a subscription model necessary for using our own network of computers? Why isn't this a single purchase for using our own machines? Especially in this day and age, this kind of feels like a cheap money grab since everyone and his mother seems to have a subscription model to hook you. Can you explain why this is?
@@ThomvanVliet That is a good question, since most of our tools are one payment based, and you probably don't refer to the free version of Render Brain. So let's go to the answer: Render Brain was designed for multiple network setups on high volume studios and offices, which requires 24/7 close support (although you can also use it at home). Render Brain also updates frequently, mostly for clients feature requests, so the development is always ongoing. If you look at the competition, Render Brain's yearly investment is only a fraction of what the industry is used to. So Render Brain not only saves time but also costs. And most of the revenue goes back for support and development. And on a personal note: I am not only in the development team but also a freelancer that uses it in multiple broadcast studios and it is a life changer for any multiple machine studio. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have through Render Brain's site, I'll be more than happy to reply. Cheers!
The comparison to AI in this specific case would be more like "MS Paint killed crayons and paint", rather than "Automobiles killed horse carts". Of course we all know crayons and paint are alive and well.
It makes sense that Procreate would take a stance against generative AI, considering that much of their user base might be at odds with it. However, I’m curious about how they’ll approach new AI-driven tools that function more as plugins-those that help users work faster or more efficiently. I was already thinking of adding this perspective even before you asked for comments! It’s great that you’re sharing job opportunities too-really appreciate it! 🤠
The job section can be useful if the it's a Remote position, It might be more relevant for most, considering many of your subscribers are from many different countries.
Procreate is a digital canvas, not a full house software like photoshop where you can edit, clone stamp and really modify images to a new level. Why would you expect procreate to integrate AI? It isn’t photoshop, it is a software designed for drawing specifically.

Procreate is taking a stand for the artists. And as they say"Creativity is made, not generated."👏
I would argue, if you can't see how image generation can be used creatively, then you don't understand the creative process.
@@AB-wf8ek 🤣🤣🤣
