Sleeping upside down all night long really helped my moustache train upwards, and then flying my airplane with the front window open, chin slightly tilted upwards, really sealed it.
I’ve incorporated all of these, but the one thing that helped a lot ( and still helps) was investing in a couple of Stern Mustache Snoods. I wear one when going to bed, and the other after having styled my ‘stache in the morning (for about 10 minutes or until wax has set.) I’m surprised Germany is the only country making them.
interesting I have seen them before however Im not sure I could sleep with something like that on my face. I may have to get one for trials sake though.
@@30DayReviews I thought the same thing at first, but it’s quite comfortable once you get the adjustment where you want it. And the end result (at least for me) is well worth the weirdness of its initial appearance.
Every November I grow my beard long along with the mustache. I carry my mustache comb in my pocket all day and several times a day, I comb it and kind of push and wipe it in the direct it needs to go. My mustache gets only a little more than half the size that yours is though.
I say grow it and leave it :) one tip with those mustache combs is drill a hole in the handle and attach to a key ring.. I kept loosing mine when I would pull things out of my pocket. as soon as I did that I haven't lost another one since. they are pricy little combs but well worth it in my opinion. what kind/brand comb do you carry with you
Yes, my fledgling grows down over my lip like Obelix and I am having difficulty eating porridge for breakfast. My beard wax seems pretty weak. Can we use actual candle wax for a real stiffy? I want super wax.
Beard balms, butters and waxes are only meant to help shape a beard and get some stragglers inline as far as the hold goes. I guess you could use candle wax but I wouldent recommend it. Check out my strong hold videos for some stronger waxes.
I’ve been trying to get my handlebar in order and using a medium to stiff wax. For some reason, one side always has a great curl and the other wants to curl outwards and almost down. I gives it a super funky look. You have that issue at all in the beginning?
I still to this day have that issue. the best tip I can give you is to pay attention to your daily habits expecialy your sleeping ones. do you sleep on that side allot, is your mustache under your cheek or hanging over your pillow? I found when I had a goatee one side always looked shorter and it was due to me resting my chin in my hand on that side all the time. you are probably just training the hairs and not even knowing it.
Good tips. I've had a full beard for quite a while now and i just got tired of trimming my mustache. I'm just trying to find a good way to stop eating it😅 nothing fancy
I'm 26, never tried to grow facial hair because it never came in, but here we are with a really big bushy mustache and absolutely no idea what I'm doing. How do I tame the tips of the mustache? I've got them separated and growing the right directions, but the tips are bushy as heck and I cant get em to sharpen up. Any tips?
Well Congrats on the Mustache! and I think your in the right place. I would say to check out this playlist to learn all you can. ruclips.net/video/CpeB_SEf67Q/видео.html&pp=gAQBiAQB as far as the tips I dont have much to tell you except wax is your friend. mine like to be bushy and not go in a single direction as well so a bit of wax helps to group them together.
I have many shortcomings (some pretty unfortunate) but I was blessed in the facial hair department. I can grow a full set in no time, but usually I limit it to a boring old goatee because it’s easy to manage. It’s time for a change though and I’m in the process of training a handlebar mustache. I have a feeling that facial hair is making a comeback and we’ll soon see men sporting the type of looks that were common in the 1800’s. If that’s the case I want to get in on it before it becomes mainstream.
Hi great info..so can i ask you which of the many waxes you've sampled is the best in your opinion? Is it the death grip an extra strong hold? Also do you also need the oil when using death grip? The other less talked about thing is folks like me have wavy/curly hair so its much more unruly than say your stache or most anglo's. Any recommendations for more coarse/wavy/thick hair handlebar stache and how to shape and moould it ? Sorry for a barage of Q.'s..im at the half way point of where i want my handlebar length to be..but need tips to get me to the finishing line..
I dont have a particular wax that I think is "best" as they all have their positives and negatives when it comes to application and hold. I would suggest you watch my reviews on the death grip line of products to find out what hold strength they are. Personally I think for training your mustache a lighter wax is better and so is oiling as it helps soften the hairs and makes them a bit more pliable. so for training, no matter what wax your using you should use an oil as well as instructed. even with curly hair, it can be trained to be straighter in most cases. in the cases that it cant be then you are better off with keeping the middle at whatever length it fills in and just growing the sides longer to be able to get the curl you desire. my best recommendations for training are all in this playlist> ruclips.net/p/PL1oY2OAyK4t71a_VI592My0TyLalJNuIQ Hey no problem asking all the questions. I have a feeling that much of what you may want to know is answered somewhere in the recommended playlist but if you have more you can always ask and Ill do my best to answer. is this your first attempt at a handlebar mustache? have you had any other mustache in the past?
@@30DayReviews Apologies for this very late response..i did check your other uploads but still not convinced which product will work on me..its my first stache but i've tended to a long goatee for 10+ years, also, what most stache owners dont usually point out is how high up the lip they start the stache, after hours of playing with mine, i realize that the higher up the lip, the more "dali-esk" shape the ends can have, in other words, my ultimate goal is to have the ends point as straight up as possible (as opposed to the sideways handle bar), while i have yet to reach the desired length, i am beginning to have issues eating as the hairs around the center of my upper lip are getting "caught with the food" as it were..just dont want to trim, then regret later. The other issue is do most dali -like statches have the hair grow in one smooth line from the center of the lip? Some have suggested trimming most of the stache and just letting the ends grow but i doubt you can achieve that smooth contour that way.
I've not trained my moustache; it has trained me to trim it every few weeks. It will tolerate a bit of sweep, but wont stay in a handlebar with even the strongest wax (tried Firehouse Wacky Tacky). I'm not going to use a blow dryer on my face thank you very much. All that said, I do admire your epic stash Justin.
LOL i guess some times it goes the other way where they train you lol. many guys really need to start training it as soon as it starts growing enough that you can get the comb through it. I'm sure there are also those that have thick hair that just refused to go any direction then down. the blow-dryer is because heat helps set the hair and also mustaches take ridiculously long to dry for what they are lol thank you much sr! its only getting more epic each day. I made some trimming mistakes so growing it all out to same length to get that thickness up.
@@30DayReviews Yes my moustache is as stubborn as a mule and with all gels and waxes Ive used it will go down again within 20 minutes. I also stay in a hot country so I sweat a lot and that washes the was away too. Im convinced training whilst sleeping etc would be my only hope

Great video there Justin! Curious what you're doing and if you have to wear a mask? I'm playing around with whether I wax my stash under the mask or not. Waxing it seems to help with keeping it trained in other words if I don't wax it say on the weekend I'm going to have a harder time getting it to look really good when it is waxed. But sometimes I just don't like the wet sticky feel of the wax with the mask you know plastering it down. Are you having to wear a mask?
thanks for watching again and im glad you liked this one as well. as far as what I do when i wear a mask.... well... I dont... I live in a state where the numbers are not high and our rules are more free. that being said there are stores that require masks or face coverings. In the places I must wear one I use a bandana. Bandanas tend to wrap around the nose a little higher then the masks do. Because of this the stache does not get squashed on the face as much. If i had to wear one all day I would probably just add a bit of oil in the AM and then not do mush styling with it.
Great step by step routine! I can't seem to make mine point downwards/sideways but rather horizontally towards the front. I'm not a fan, and neither is my wife.

I have death grip and firehouse both and trying both products from 20days
and i find out:-
death grip:-
what i like-
1)it spreads evenly
2)it gives that nice shape
what i don't like-
1)it is sticky gooy
2)it adds extra shine
3)as it give good shape but it doesn't hold it and breaks after 15-20 min
firehouse wacky tacky:-
what i like-
1)hold is strong enough
2)not gooy and less oily
what i don't like-
1)hold is good but feels like cement
2)not spread evenly through mustache
3)smells bad
what i m finding in a wax is-
1)feels soft on mustache and should has that extreme hold
2)not oily sticky just natural finish
3)natural ingredients
and i search amazon reviews and find out that peckerhead is better version of death grip. peckerhead is non sticky and has stronger hold than death grip is that true?
