    Love your tutorials. Always learn new stuff. Big Problem for me is, that I am working with Mac and there is no chance to render with lumion. Just the possibility to render with Twinmotion. Could you do a render tutorial with PS postproduction. would live to see stuff like this. But also happy to see all the other stuff. Keep up the good work mate!

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  3 года назад +1

      Hey Vincent, thanks! Most of the videos here on the channel are on using Photoshop and about the post-production step. Only recently I've started to experiment with Lumion. But definitely, more tutorials on this topic coming up soon. In the course that I mentioned in the video, I go over specifically the post-production workflow with Photoshop, you should check that out.
      I'll try to use Twinmotion in the future too! A lot of people have requested that. Thank you!

    You mentioned using the Camera Raw filter, but I had good results exporting the finished renders from Photoshop, then importing everything into Lightroom, where I can apply the same grade across all the pictures. Any thoughts on that, Oliver?

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  3 года назад

      Hey Koyor, that's even better! Going to Lightroom you've more editing options. I've preferred using directly in PS because then if any changes are needed, you can quickly fix it and redo the camera raw filter as a smart filter, saving me a lot of time. Do you link PS and Lightroom in any way? Or is it more of a manual process? Thanks for sharing your process!

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  3 года назад +1

      Hey Tyler, the trick is to apply a mask to hide everything in the layer, then use the brush tool with that vegetation brush to reveal the grass. Therefore we sort of use the brush as the edge of the grass. I hope that makes sense. Since the goal of the video is to be more specific about the tips, I couldn't go into detail in every step

  • @Pad13
    @Pad13 3 года назад +1

    I’d love to see a quick tutorial on how to create images that work well for printing in a portfolio and also can be saved to a smaller resolution for publishing on the internet. Often when moving from 300dpi to 72dpi much of the detail is lost. Have you got any tips so that you can have one master image serving both purposes?

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  3 года назад +3

      Hey Pad 13, that's a really tough subject to talk about, especially because I've seen that each printer or print shop handles ink differently. For me, the hardest part about printing is to get the color correctly.
      I'm also no expert in this, but from what I understand, the difference from 300 dpi to 72 dpi only counts for physical quality, in terms of screen quality there shouldn't be any difference.
      Often times we think that a higher image quality means that we can zoom in indefinitely and the image should look crisp. But you need to look at it at 100 or 200% zoom to get a sense of how that image/drawing looks in the medium you're going to publish. Issuu, Instagram, Behance, online PDF portfolio, whatever that may be, you usually need less quality than you think you do when it comes to the digital realm. Unless of course, you're planning to crop it or display it at really large monitors/TVs in 4k. I hope that helps you out!

    • @Pad13
      @Pad13 3 года назад

      @@LearnUpstairs many thanks for that. You make points which I’d not even thought about. What I was wondering though was whether it would be best to start with your 300dpi image as the master image and then downgrade the dpi to 72 for internet publishing. Maybe do everything in smart objects to retain the image quality. I’m just not sure whether this can be done… sometimes you scale a drawing and even smart images lose their detail because they’ve become too small and therefore they blur.
