- Javier and Gloria Cazares, the parents of Jacklyn; Kimberly and Felix Rubio, the parents of Alexandria "Lexi”; and Angel Garza, the father of Amerie, were among the speakers at Wednesday’s March Fourth Rally, which included survivors of the Highland Park, Illinois mass shooting on July 4.
Oh my gosh I can’t stop crying. One decision can change your whole life. Back in May at my sons 4th grade ceremony I chose to take my son out of school for the day. Just cuz I use to hate that my mom never took me out of after an award ceremony during the last few days of school. I hope no other parent has to suffer from this type of tragedy again
The world can’t stop crying. As for her guilt, sadly it will eat her alive. Because on top of that she’s been going on countless national news outlets demanding accountability and the firing of “all the cowards in that hallway” and her husband is one of them.
So many parents blaming themselves but sending your kids to school shouldn't mean they are at risk of not ever coming home.

Kimberley, you heart and intelligence moves me to my core. Lexi will never be a number to me because you carry her light everyday in you and it shines through you and your husband Felix. Thankyou for moving us forward in our humanity even through your loss.
Don’t force us to send our kids to school when they are not safe there & police refuse to serve & protect them or allow parents to step in & save them.
Cops pick and choose who they are going to protect and serve, mostly their friends, family and themselves.
Absolutely heartbreaking. In tears as I comment. I’m so sorry for your loss and I pray for some empathy from law makers.

The husband needs to speak up! We all saw in the surveillance video that he was there, but didn’t take any action. He never mentioned it because he knows he is as guilty as his other colleagues.
Did you know that the guys from Border control that went in and killed the gunman had no idea that there were kids dead In that class room? They ran in thinking it was a barricaded subject . NO ONE informed them that kids had already been killed. I I were you I would not make any judgement just yet about what this dad knew or did not know because they lied . They lied to Ms Mirales husband too. Told him the chief was in there talking to him that they were in in order to shuffle him out and off the Property. They did something similar to Lexi dad because he also was escorted away and disarmed.
THAT'S WHY HE'S ALWAYS SO QUIET BECAUSE THAT GUILT IS EATING HIM UP
No parent should have to fear sending their kid to school and what's frustrating is that no other country has this problem so that means it's fixable.
I feel for the dad who was waiting in the hallway together with the other officers...he's going to live with that too

Yes he was standing around, but he was also following order and probably knew they would not let him in. He also probably did not know his daughter was already dead in there. He probably still had hope she was still alive. The whole point is that day he was OFF DUTY and put on this uniform to go help. You cannot blame him for this. Imagine the pain he must feel after finding out she was in fact in there. You have to realize Lexi probably wasn’t confirmed dead until THAT NIGHT or later that day. There was no way for him to know she was already dead. Have some empathy. The guilt must be killing him
Uvalde needs to be reconfigured. New Chief of police, cops, mayor, legal team, etc.
As a parent myself it hurts hearing the pain she has losing their daughter.

Im tired of this... Seeing these videos and the leak the video footage is heartbreaking. I live right next too a highschool. Anything can go wrong. I'm at my witts to use my 2nd Amendment rights to bare arms because at this point, Law enforcement are not trust worthy and I'm not saying all cops are cowardice but it's pathetic. Most combat veteran would probably rush in and instantly neutralized the threat. This is just heartbreaking
I'm right there with you. Both of my kids are 9 yrs old and 6 yrs old and go to Elementary school. I'm terrified for them. I DO NOT trust our PD. I really, really am considering getting a firearm. That way I'm 3 minutes from my kids school. If I have to take care of business of a nutcase I will. And the cops can shoot me I'm going in and saving my kids!!! My son is terrified a bad guy will shoot down the classroom door.

He was off duty that day and was at the award ceremony that morning, no uniform. He put on the uniform and went to the school. He wasn’t there until about 12:20, attempted to engage and was held back. His daughter was already dead.
@@Nofidelityproject please watch the footage properly he was not held back at all the colleague only held him when the shooter was shot dead and he was emotional. He was there even before they started shooting, he could have stood in the front with the other officers supporting the tactical team and get into the class room to look for his daughter immediately. He literally stood at the very back end!!!

To be fair most of those children are already dead before police arrived. Maybe some could of been saved if response was quicker. But was held back by gun fire. Not being prepared was their down fall. First responding officers should of grouped together with shields and rifles and toke him out.

Yes & No! Gun violence isn’t the only threat! Bomb , kidnapping, sexual, rape, hand terrorizing etc… has been going on since I was 8 yrs old. My school immediately hired an armed school official when we had a bomb threat! That was over 20 yrs ago. Blows my mind why they didn’t have at least a security guard on site! The back doors take FOREVER to close.. I have pulled in those doors extremely hard & it takes about a minute to actually close.
Also the police department don’t have special circumstance training. FBI , secret service etc..with special skills training should be the ones to train & hire the police.
