  • Battlebit has been a lot of fun whenever I've played, but I'm becoming disappointed with the way things are now. seems like the game is just dying, and that may just be an error on my perspective, but it's a shame. I won't say that it IS dying, but it certainly feels like the player base is way lower than it was even just a couple of weeks ago. hopefully new content updates or something will help drive some players back. I really enjoy the game and am becoming disappointed that it seems to be losing traction. also I apologize for lack of content lately, have been uploading shorts from my games in rainbow six siege but haven't had enough to warrant an actual video
    I hope you enjoy! Please consider liking and subscribing for more!

    i played the battlebit beta, what i dont ilke about battle bit now is that it became a slightly more realistic COD, back then using the fal on full auto with as much no recoil setup as you may try was still not good for anything +30 meters of distance, now people are beaming with the guns

    • @vandlassie8478
      @vandlassie8478 6 месяцев назад

      Yeah i agree with this one too. Even with lmg and A BIPOD, you can still beaming at range. Not to mention about dropshotting and fast leaning, at the end the day your usual gunfight looks like people do ballerina and break dance

    Love 127v127 but the devs definitely need to up their update game, maybe hiring additional people would help.

      @atomskGull  6 месяцев назад +2

      yeah, that could really help as I know it's a fairly small team to begin with. gotta be hard to keep up with everything with just a few people. I worked in software but I had a lot of other people who were also working on the same stuff I was, without them I don't know how we could have done all we did.

    Dont really agree. The game is really stable with the players and community. I think they do need a couple big updates tho.

      that's completely fair! it is entirely possible that I'm just getting the wrong impression lately, but the next big updates will be good anyway

    Nice video. I can't say if it's dying or not but those queue issues can totally lead you to believe that. As for retention and what's going wrong...
    ---- why they could be leaving, if you want a paragraph for inspiration ---
    There's a lot of variables to player retention, content releases/updates, consumer retention/patience being destroyed by tiktok, new games coming out like you mentioned, missed/delayed promises, missing base content, having a more complex gameplay loop/diversity in content, well weighted progression systems, graphics, how alive the game feels, how much of an effect you feel like you have on the final outcome, etc. So many things in a game can rub different people the wrong way, hence why there's a video game testing job.
    To try and ask why they're leaving is too wide of a query. Maybe post a poll and give some options for why people left, and put it out there. You'd be doing SgtOkiDoki a favor.

    • @atomskGull
      @atomskGull  6 месяцев назад +1

      it's not even the queue issues as much as it is seeing it from the server browser. once I started not getting queued into any 64v64 servers I looked and since then I've just used the browser.
      however, yeah, I can agree with what you're saying, retention is hard for people these days it feels because of how media is consumed. yeah, maybe I'll do a poll soon, thank you for the suggestion!

    My money is on lack of post-launch content. I knew right from the start that by the end of this year that the game would have under 10K players by the end of the year.
    For as to why I stopped playing, I personally wasn't a fan of different bits and pieces of the game. The lack of AP rounds, shotguns, and the large gaps between weapon unlocks made the game stale quick.
    I honestly wonder how the game would be know if they actually took the deal from Tencent. For sure the game would die out, but the game would have more content.

    I kinda stopped playing because everyone was looking for the next meta-overpowered gun and instead of teamwork everyone started going for MVP - it just wasn't very fun. I still like the game and the community tho.

    I love battlebit. I'm a casual player but it does seem to get a bit repetitive over time. It's still better than battlefield in COD imo.
    The player base will go up and down but updates will still bring veteran players and new ones alike back to battlebit.
    I wouldn't say it's going downhill. Some people thought it was going to die shortly after launch.
    Remember, the holidays are here, ppl get busy with work too and ofc... new games are coming out while existing games are crushing big updates.
    Battlebit isn't going anywhere any time soon as far as I can see.

  • @abon1364
    @abon1364 6 месяцев назад +2

    Given how much attention/hype the game got, of course the player base is going to have a downturn...especially since it's between major updates, new games and fickle players. I miss the 64 v. 64 games a lot too because they felt like an ideal size for learning to run & gun, compared to 32 v. 32 where I die too fast to get much done, and 127 v. 127 is kind of similar, except avoiding heli snipers* by constantly fidgeting makes moving around so tedious that I often just give up and go recon to keep them honest.
    *How many kills does someone seriously get heli-sniping because I'm by no means good and it's killed me maybe 1-2 times over my 200+ hrs of play...seems like a bigger waste of time than spending a match focusing on doming helicopter pilots lol

    From friends ive introduced the game to recently they dont like how slow reloads and bandaging are(luckily bandaging has been sped up for all classes now), people camping, map design, and frontlines being a horrible iteration of the gamemode.

    The game is definitively dying because they decided to introduce community servers - which exacerbated the existing problem of the hype dying down. Now we have a dwindling playerbase, but worse they are split between 3 different types of servers to play on, meaning less players per server, meaning less activity, meaning people think the game is dead and stop playing. Which makes the player count even worse. The real killer is that community servers can not and never will meet demand for them. Official servers can merge together when player counts get low, ensuring that every server stays relatively full, and when more servers are needed more servers are created. Community servers of course can not follow this type of fluidity meeting the demands of players, so the supply of servers will always be far too much than the demand.
    The only real solution is for Battlebit Remastered developers to give up completely on community servers and go back to only official servers. This will fix most of the issues and keep the dwindling playerbase intact and together on the same stuff. Some might think this is evil or messed up, however they don't recognize that the real reason people play community servers is because those servers modify the bad parts of the game to get rid of them entirely or work around them. There are servers dedicated to not having snipers, or removing RPGs, or only playing a certain type of gamemode.
    This DOES NOT fix the core issue - people don't like snipers, so snipers need to be adjusted. People do not like RPG spam and RPGs need to be adjusted. Having community servers that ban certain items or classes doesn't fix those classes in any way, shape, or form. They are bandaid solutions to a core problem that only the developers can fix. Furthermore, on map-specific or gamemode-specific servers, official could certainly do this themselves if they desired to do so. But even then, this doesn't solve the issue of people choosing the same map/gamemode over and over - I think it should be like early Call of Duty games where you get to choose between two maps at random, each with a random gamemode assigned to them.
    The hype was inevitably going to die down - and thats completely fine. But the devs refuse to recognize that they are making the problem worse by an order of magnitude. I'm not sure what their strategy was, I doubt it is worth killing the game to save a little bit of money on server costs.

    the game is dying mostly cause of the sweats if they nerfed the movement when the game was at its prime i think alot of casual players would have stayed despite the ridicilous grind

      @atomskGull  6 месяцев назад

      yeah, that's a good thought, I could certainly see that. it's a shame, though, cause overall the gunplay and the game itself is great - however, the way people play can really kill it for some people.

      i dont know, i really enjoy that there is another aspect of the game that you had to try and improve on, i think the game benifited from the fast movement and gunplay. Although it still is pretty fast for a semi realistic game mechanics wise.

    • @King1614

      It’s mostly because I suck and stand like a target when I shoot at someone. Half these guys have enough coordination to move side to side, keep moving the mouse down to avoid recoil, and move the nous side to side to not miss the target. That or they’re cheating lol.

      That only affects getting new customers, not the active playerbase that already owns the game. Unless they went to a subscription model, that would hurt player counts.
