Phil has left us now two weeks on. Phil left us with these final Clubhouse Sessions and the Darkstarathons, the last one only a month or so ago. This one is my favorite of all. Midnight Moonlight with Mr. Rowan who played it with Jerry Garcia in "Old And In The Way"... The music will never stop.
So good to see Peter Rowin playing these songs with Phil and all these fine people. Every song is a gem. Seeing Mr Rowin work his magic with those still golden pipes once again (saw him do this many times in person over the decades) brought tears to my eyes. The filming of it was also magnificent. Thanks so much Phil and to everyone involved in making this happen and the people behind the scenes. It blows my mind what I get to see and experience on a RUclips channel sometimes.
Phenomenal session, great musicians! Peter Rowan is indeed a national treasure. He, with his brothers, performed Land of the Navajo at TXR’s outside park a couple years back in brilliant sunshine-dancing to it was a spiritual experience. Music opens pathways. Grateful to all who explore, and that’s what TXR was about. Thanks for pushing boundaries, moving up in light & love. Phil, may you rest easy. Thanks for all you gave💪🎶❤️✨🌎
She's played a lot with greensky bluegrass and gets lost in the sound. Here she is turned up, and her solos are more audible. IMHO she's best when playing solo... Melts my heart
Wow what a set . Real music played by real players . Peter Rowan as usual just blew me away . He is the connection between blue grass and jam . I really love these videos
first time I've ever seen Peter Rowan playing electric. He sure is in good company here. I love his song Midnight Moonlight, it's become one of my all time favorites
This was a great idea, so many inspiring moments, Land of the Navajo jam not the least of them. So sorry to see you go Phil, my heartfelt condolences to your family and friends . What a mensch
Been watching this set all weekend. Haven't seen Peter in a while, still sounding awesome, as well as the others. RIP Phil, thank you for all the magical moments (💜);}
I was saying I don’t believe I had ever seen that before. He does a hella nice job and he still has his pipes on him too. Great performance by all involved.
Fun to hear Phil play a few tunes I associate with Jerry Garcia side projects and not the Grateful Dead; i.e. Old and in the Way, New Riders, and JGB. Rowan has always been a favorite.
Phil, I really miss our conversations atTerrapin Crossroads. Thanks for always searching for the sound and ensuring our music lives on through the generations. The music is in good hands. Steve Raucher
That’s indeed how it works, friend: we pick it up in one part of the cosmos and send it on again as we travel. Thanks for being part of the Unbroken Chain!
What a real pleasure listening and watching these incredible musicians. What a tour it would be, especially if they just stayed on the West Coast. They don't need any stinking east coast thereabouts.
Love this! The guy with the shaggy grey hair and Les Paul Jr. style guitar has a really cool voice. I feel like I could watch this lineup play all day. If John Molo is involved, I watch. Same with Holly.
Bingo: “They’re the only ones who do what they do” - the original “they”, and all of the “descendants” who keeping forming new “bands beyond description” and blessing us with celestial dispatches. THANK YOU PHIL LESH!
Exciting stuff. Peter I caught you last year @ Madrid, NM Down to the Mine Fest. Brought me back to those old 90's Telluride memories... Cool combo, great arrangement, love to sing with you one day!
That’s Elliott Peck, of the Terrapin Family Band and Midnight North. She is a strong songwriter herself, check out her solo work. (description has credits)
Peter Rowan is one of the finest Bluegrass songwriters there ever was.

Holly is magnificent! Never fails to blow me away. It's like the perfect combination of Keith, Nicky Hopkins, and her own thing
Well said. I hear Keith in her too.
Holly brings whatever band she is sitting in with to the next level!!! I think GSBG would agree.
SO FINE! Ol’ Spud Boy is gleaming. Giving it up for all but damn that Panama Red is SO FINE!!!!

They ain't stinking old, they're mellowing. Hahahahaha.
Excellent ! Go Phil go. Makes me so happy to see this and Peter’s voice is still strong. Great line up 🔥❤️
Rowan with so many intersections with The Dead World over the years. Epic.😄☮✌
Some things really do get better with age.....Absolutely stunning.
That Mournful Cry in Navajo is chilling. Peter and Phil still got it. Great stuff.
This moonlight midnight opener really hit me this morning. So amazing.

Thanks Phil... All our favorite musicians ❤Barry +Holly? OMG 😊
Holly just amazes me on piano.
Land of the Navajo! Great session. I also love the pedal steel, and overall arrangement, on Dupree's.

Enjoyed this compilation of musicians and had good fun harmonizing with ya all too..just like old times ‼️🙏💕~😇
Wow, Midnight Moonlight was fantastic. Totally heard Throwing Stones in there also - thought they were going to segue into that.
What a wonderful session!
I just went from the kitchen area, classical music, back into my room - this music - and I couldn’t hear a separation between the two, it was bizarre
Bingo: “They’re the only ones who do what they do” - the original “they”, and all of the “descendants” who keeping forming new “bands beyond description” and blessing us with celestial dispatches. THANK YOU PHIL LESH!

I know Terrapin Crossroads closed but is that the same space? If so, can I have a spare key?
Pete Rowan, aka "Red."
So it is😂
I heard Barry Playing with Moonalice about 12 years ago or so and he was good then but he has stepped his game up considerably, just fantastic.
Where is this filmed?
Lesh filling
Stereo or 5.1 ?
Let Trey Sing 😅
Real deal stuff. Not so common…
No mention of the brunette woman in front singing🤷♂️
That’s Elliott Peck, of the Terrapin Family Band and Midnight North. She is a strong songwriter herself, check out her solo work. (description has credits)
