Phil you are such a treasure. I loved the backstory and theory of the song structure. I'm sure most of us were hearing this for the first time in your intro comments. Thank you guiding us all these long strange trippy years through the Phil Zone. Much love and light. Keep on shinin"
Holly's playing is genius! Her and Phil create a tonal dialogue that is absolutely fantastic!

A friend of mine used to joke that I had a PhD in Grateful Deadology. But this is a true education. Listening Phil teach these kids is amazing. They are just soaking all this knowledge. Great stuff Phil.
So cool, it's like dropping in on a Master Class intended to place the Grateful Dead repertoire in the Great American Songbook
This is what I came here for. Fantastic. Songs I never thought I'd see you play and great playing all around, just amazing.
Great stuff. Holly Bowling is something else! Nice Graeme & Stu interplay. Alex Koford is solid. Phil is… as usual… you know, the center.
Holly Bowling is awesome!
Holly Bowling is such a great addition to the musical community that we all love. She is soo talented!!
"Not too tight or too loose." And yet the way China starts is right ON!!!!!!!!❤🎉😊
I ❤ Phil & ALL Phriends!
First time I heard about the 12. Nailed the segue: COSMIC.
My favorite episode to date. Cool to hear the band talking through the key / chord / song changes and then go and do it. Especially noted the small grin on Phil's face when the change from 12 to 11 happens. That's always been a cool moment in that song for me, so it was neat to know that it's still a little magic moment for Phil, even after playing it thousands of times. Did I also notice that Phil does not use a pad or teleprompter for lyrics? Darn fine for 84!
All great but my favorite to date as well. Incredible insight and jamming!
Yeah baby, New Potato---Born Cross-Eyed, my favorites!
Great Feedback!❤❤
🥔 🚂
Well that just happened! Yesss please on the 11, I LOVE when old shows are redone like it was played originally, such a treat! Thank you for sharing this beautiful music and can I give my girl Holly a shout out, seriously though, doesn’t get any better than this!!! Close my eyes and let it hit my soul❤
Thank you Phil!
This is a great example of things getting better with age. Granted, the skills of these players are far in excess of what was around in 1968 on the part of the Dead. This arrangement is really electric. All the players really cook. As an audiophile of SF in the 60s it's great to see the spirit so evident there and then now and here!
No matter how much I miss TXR, I understand.....EFF that dang landlord! Or whatever but thanks you gals and guys for the music that never will stop!
They have the sound so dialed in for that space, it’s great! Closest I’ve heard to early 70s Dead tapes.
Jewels polished and gleaming
Voices of the storm sound like a crowd.❤
Love the pre jam meeting and history lesson almost as much as the music.!!
Love those keys!!
Lesh is more
Sooooooo much more...😊
this hit the spot! love that the conversation was included here. I always feel better after listening/watching one of these sessions, so, THANK YOU!
Phil was right! That was TASTY
Thank you so much for sharing and posting; sounds and looks great, love the insightful comments by all involved; again love the editing and production of these sessions.
Dave sounds great on this! Love the history lesson
The time signature in The Eleven is so complicated, they make the transition look and sound so simple.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Please tell us more, Phil...these videos are treasures!
Absolutely wonderful 🇬🇧✌️🇺🇲
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing the discussion throughout the video. I think it helps understand such discussions take place with any band that want’s to take things to the next level. Along the same lines of China Cat originally in E, I think Help>Slip, was originally in Em and performed once (possibly twice). I need to dig the recording up.
Ice Nine published it in Em.
Any chance more DeadCo guests will stop by? It would be nice to see John come back after all these years now that he knows the material. Originally when he attended the Terrapin venue, it was brief and a warmup for him but nothing like he plays now. It would be nice to see that other guy drop in; the one that plays rhythm guitar. LOL, kidding. Bobby of course. And maybe add some gym equipment to the clubhouse so everyone can workout with Bob, before a jam session.
Again, a Fog machine and colorful lighting would be nice. It could be fun to also have a clubhouse cat walk around during the Jams.
Hey, maybe even a China Cat! - Meow
I already really enjoy the Terrapin Clubhouse . With Holly's unique methode of doing solo covers from a historical context it fits perfect for exploring the iterations of songs. Phill adding bits of the band's state of mind is even better. Thank you. 1 love
please please please post more like this i'm learning so much!!
I just relate to the sounds coming from this clubhouse… the interactive interpretations and room to bring each player’s style to the music is just soul replenishing. Thanks Phil and friends in all of your forms. Sweetness fills the air.
Graham, you sound so great on Born Cross-Eyed!
So instructional, making it so accessible and much more understood. What a blast being a fly on the wall. Thanks Phil. ❤if you keep inviting Holly your sound will keep on growing. She's a treasure😊
Holly's back!!!
Phil still searching for the sound. Explains why The Eleven is so hypnotic.
1968. Everyone's on acid. Four bars of 11 then a bar of 12... then we'll do 11 bars of 12... Everyone got that?
When the secrets are all told ❤ Phil teaching a master class I love it❤
Phil and jack white should chat about song history
Sounds great guys. Time to invite Garrett over.....
If you need any camera help, reach out. I'm local
Alex Koford. "crimson black and indigo". I will never forgive.

That guy on the turquoise strat looks like he could be Pigpen's son
JFC..WOW
Dude, first off, I could listen to you expound on the Intricacies for hours and if you did livestream discussions with us in the chat, we may be able to lay down some serious material for the future people!
P.S. I saw DSO last night in Santa Fe, it was great.
I'm still wishing you would make it back this way; 'like three nights at Tico Time would be divine!
Much Love,
✨🧙🏾♂️✨
wisdom for the classically trained Grateful Dead fans to find.... musicians. artists. dancers. listeners.....
Great 69 sound true psychedelic
Politely, with all due respect, this bunch screams early 1968.
So interesting
Stu needs to be further up in the mix or Grahame down a bit.
I like how the Eleven makes me feel when you play it Phil
Always have
iPads. The death of music.
The singer fucked it up for me.
Looking at the lyrics. Really?
