The way she screams "I came back home so I want my home back" gets me emotional. It's not a scream to just sound heavy and badass, it has an element of pain to it.

JINJER are from Eastern Ukraine, Donetsk region. Their native town was and still remains occupied by pro-russin forces. And all the band members became war refugees and had to move to a different region (at first Lviv in Western Ukraine and later on Kyiv - the capital). This is a very personal song for them.
Watching you breakdown the musical composition in your head is one of my favorite parts on this channel. Along with watching you enjoy the musical sounds of Jinjer!
This might be my favourite Jinjer song. Musically, it's superb, but it's also one of their most emotionally powerful songs. That penultimate line, "I came back home so I want my home back" gets me every time.
Damn... I've got a lump in my throat after reading those lyrics just now. Great analysis, Chase, as always! Was wondering if you're gonna be reacting to Opeth again any time soon? They're also one of Jinjer's biggest influences, especially for Eugene and Tatiana.
I said something similar on Tanks reaction... I have seen more than my fair share of war. More than anyone should experience. BUT, I had a safe home in the best country on Earth that I could eventually come back to, and where my loved ones were safe. I cant imagine the pain of living and growing up in a war torn area. I’m glad they’ve been able to use their life to make amazing art.

Great reaction. The part that resonated with me most was where you talked about how unique are their vocal/lyrical abilities and musicianship. It's one of the main reasons they never get old to me. To that end, allow me to recommend Sokoninaru. They're another unique band that, though sounding different overall, has that same ability as Jinjer to musically and vocally go places you didn't think were possible, and are amazing once they get there in such a masterful fashion. If interested, I'd start with "Tenohira De Odoru".
Man you are brilliant. I learned So much from you. I played drums. I love the way you explain the music i love. Hope you well man. Wish you all the Best
