Made it to Les Arcs and Tignes/ValD' again last year for twenny days in March... A most successful trip!! Thought about getting a guide but went out the door and just pinned it! Airbnb in Bourg for Les Arcs: Robert Blanc = ohhlala! La Plagne: Bellcotte!! Then Val Claret for Tignes: Creamy Groomers in the Fog first day: Riding on foot pressure only. No lumps. No Skidding. No Falling. No Waiting. Next day was shin-deep Tufs down to Grand Motte Funi. Soft-pack laps on Belevarde!! When looking for "another expert" to ski with; I check out the lift lines... shooting the breeze with guys who look like they Know. 'Met a Guy' did a run and went to meet his guys. Turns out; all were tough-old Swedes with FIS experience. I could hang but I paid for it. Found a few others for a few laps every day. Had so much fun ripping that the thought of actually walking anywhere was not happening. Generally too tired for apres. Food Questions ? en France: cette un problem?? I Suffered with Joues de porc braisées ultra tendres, sauce au vin et échalotes sur un lit de riz espanol... From the Sherpa marche' deli for 15Eu. Boots: Bring the boot fitter a six-pack and watch him fit others and try on a few of his recommendations. Learn How. Try on everything until you know Boot-fit. If you don't know boots it will cost you ski-results. Brands don't matter but specific models do. This Takes Time. If you only invest a ski-week a year forget it. Skis: You must use the right tool. Skinny skis Rock!! But Not a 185GS in moguls. You really want a 15-17meter radius in a 170cm with a 68-72waist = Nordica SLR or Spitfire. Fischer SC. Rossi Hero. Head Supershapes. Atomic X9. The Whole world is on Mid Fats because they never had a 100Day Season! Meh: unless the snow is more than shin deep and heavy. Fat skis suck but not as bad as a GS in crust. Hey Floss, hope you’re well and thanks for answering my question, will see how it goes with the goggles tips this winter. My head sweats even in the cold, should probably carry a towel in pocket or something 😂 Hoping to make it on the PSB.
@@FreeFloFloss I’ve been using a Salomon driver prime helmet with integrated goggle for the last 2 seasons. I was hoping it might work better for me but nope. Just waiting on admin to sort the buttons really, need to get out of MK…
Hi Floss, shame we could not book when we are in Tignes. Our questions would how to ski when you are caught in a white out and when do you know when you are ready for off piste.
