I just did another gun candy AR a couple weeks ago. I actually didn’t mesh strain it cause in my mind I thought that would negatively effect the prismatic gun candy powder. However I read on a forum some guys suggested using the mesh that Cerakote recommends for that particular clear. This last time I also used the air dry clear over H series graphite black.
Pearlescent single or is it a multi layer "candy" coat? Also, I've been having some problems with my double & tripple weave stippling as well as my inverse diamond stippling. They are leaving long stringers off the material. In your opinion, Is that a heat issue or possibly a blunt tool issue? I thought about narrowing the thickness of the tip but keeping the same width to hopefully reduce surface area as well as increase direct heat transfer.
It’s a pearlescent single it’s a “powder” additive for Cerakote Clear. And when your have issues with long stingers I’d say you don’t have a enough heat I like my top to be as hot as possible. Sometimes if my fan is blowing directly on it that cools it too much. Changing the tip shouldn’t not affect that cause I use some large blunt tips on some of my patterns.
TNT Tactical is it a standard black base coating? If so I wonder what an arctic white base would come out like... also, any suggestions on my stippling "tails". The bits that don't want to form properly, it's like they want to stay attached to the iron tip & I've been dying to turn these new patterns from concept to product
TNT Tactical I missed the original comment, sorry, was probably either my fan (been 90°here) or possibly the used iron set I bought at a garage sale this wkend for $2. Thanks for the feedback & would love to see that coating with either an arctic or storm trooper white base coat to see how much diferent the color pops. Keep up the killer work bub!
What mesh are you you using for clear

Yeh it’s like armor black Cerakote. And did you read my other comment? Make sure that tip is hot as possible and you shouldn’t have that issue
