Megan Griffiths: Should you buy a two stroke or a four stroke?
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 янв 2016
- Hello guys! I made this video to help you make a decision on whether you should buy a two stroke or a four stroke. Keep in mind, your decision will be different depending on your size, riding style, and what type of riding you like to do (motocross, endurocross, woods riding etc.). It is all rider preference! I hope the information in this video is some what beneficial to all you guys out shopping for a new bike!
"EVERYONE BUY TWO BIKES!"
Well said
I agree. Buy one of each! If you can't afford both, get the cheaper one that is easier to maintain. That would be the 2 stroke :) Most guys won't have to worry about jetting after they get it dialed in once.
Good call 👍. Both are amazing machines.
No 4 Stroke !!!
ALL THE WAY !!!!!!!!!!
I would agree with the jetting to an extent. I have to adjust my idle air screw with the weather. When I lived in Colorado it wasn’t an issue. But now on the east coast it needs to be adjusted with the temperature and humidity.
You wont have to fix your 4 stroke
@@kagamine_rin0294 Bull shit!
A few things I'd add:
-4 Strokes are a lot harder to start when you stall them while riding. (A lot of people buy the "hot start" to help)
-If you plan to cruise, a 2 stroke is not ideal. Staying at a constant rpm is not something it like to do, you are either decelerating or accelerating. There isn't really a middle option.
-I recommend 4 strokes to beginners so they can get used to riding with the predictable response you talked about. I've had many friends flip my old kx85 because they hit the power band WOT and went over board. That's not going to happen on a 4 stroke.
-You forgot to say with 2 strokes the piston fires every time it goes up! with the 4 stroke it's every other time. That's a big reason why you have more power in the 2 stroke. With a 4 stroke it's "1 stroke for power, 3 strokes to wear the engine out" XD
That's about all I can think of at the moment
100% correct.
+oHerroPrease i dont really agree with the 4 strokes are harder to start, thats really only true with 450's and 500's
oHerroPrease lol i started on a 2stroke and.still ride one
oHerroPrease u seem experienced with dirt bike and I need some help since im planning to buy my first dirt bike do u have kik?
Is a 4 stroke automatic?
i'm going to show this video to my girl, so she can stop asking me why i need two bikes. lol
So this video is obviously useful!
haha yup!! ironic timing here too. i am going to go check out a tt-r125 for her after work today! she just decided to try riding with me!!!
Once you ride a 2 stroke you'll stay addicted to the Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang.
+mdo686 I ride both but mostly my 450
I just got my 1988 honda mt5 50cc completely original and its almost as fast as my 125cc pitbike LOL im now addicted to 2 smokers
then if you want to win you buy a four stroke
I've ridden 125 2 stroke for a year and I am going for 4 stroke lol.
wtf
I like them both. I just purchased a 450 four stroke and I gotta tell you, this thing is a blast. Gobs of power and sounds awesome. I will probably buy a 300 two stroke after a few years just to go back to an ultra light bike. Great vid, Megan you did a nice job... very professional.
Thanks for the video. I've been trying to find a good video like this.
Ur absolutely right having one of each would be best thing, to take advantage of different riding conditions and to have the most fun possible !
2 stroke for the dirt' 4 stroke for the street!!
Yes
2 stroke for the dirt. 2 stroke also for the street
@Charles Johnson in finland they do
@@sciencemilitia1853 hahah right on brotha
2 stroke for the street as well
I'd take 4 strokes for the trails cause of the low end power it really helps on the tough parts of the trails and when u need to go slow and easy and I'd take 2strokes for the track because they make a lot of power and just do really well on the track where u need speed and power right there but in the woods 2strokes do get a little harder to manage than 4strokes but personally I prefer 2 strokes but am still a big fan of 4strokes basicaly all bikes are great dont discriminate . 😂
i did have both.but now just run two stroke way more fun and cheaper to fits.
+steve henley Definitely! And so much simpler.
+Megan Griffiths yep crosscountry raceing next month can't wait.four rounds.good fun.
steve henley agreed
One thing I think you should've mentioned is that when it comes to any slow and technical riding when there's not a lot of air moving through, the 4 strokes will start to overheat way quicker than any 2 stroke. Very well done video and very informative :).
+Jeremy Miguire (Raptor Killa) Yes for sure! My two stoke never overheats. The only time I've ever smelled coolant was when my rad hose was leaking when I was filming for Episode 3 of the web series hahaha. There are actually a ton of other things I would have liked to mention. It's tough to keep a video under 5 minutes! I also would have mentioned that the two strokes are much easier to start. Even with the electric start on both, the 2 strokes start up much better. There are so many things...
I really appreciate the comment and you supporting my channel Jeremy :D.
In Sweden ktm is called "koka till mål" (boil to finish) and that's why powerparts offer an electric cooling fan for the radiator and the issue is solved! :-)
in years of riding 4 strokes iv never had an overheating issue no matter what conditions. it's down to the fact that Muppets don't service there bikes
+vevohoeyo 4 strokes will overheat quick if no air is moving through the radiator, that's a fact not an opinion.
+Jeremy Miguire (Raptor Killa) one thing u should do is stick to your 2 stroke while the rest of the world moves on
Very informative, thanks for this comparison!
No problem, thanks for watching!
Failed to mention that 2 strokes are more stall resistant at low RPMs and that 2 strokes are given a displacement disadvantage in many racing formats.
And are easier to ride smoothly at low speeds both because they don't have as much engine braking, don't stall as easily but still have enough torque to push through.
xheppelin yeah they have more torque than a 450 a 300
Only if you a granny and lazy with a clutch.
True but 2 strokes run at a much higher rpm so if you keep the rpm up nothing to worrie about. Just got to feel the bike mate
o k FALSE 2 strokes run at lower rpm than many modern 4 strokes.
Thanks for making this it has helped me out so much
couldn,t be more clear!well done.
Easy, if you have to ask the question your not ready for a 2 stroke.
well put
Bradley truuu I have a 2001 cr250
no it's the other way around everyone should start on 2 strokes!
Other way round, after seeing you account name that sort of makes sense lol. Maybe your right, everyone starts on a 2 banger that way the scaredy cats can go off and find some other interest and we wouldn't have any of those noisy 4 strokes at all, win win. BTW Gas Gas EC300 here
Bradley 2 strokes are WWWWAAAAAAAAAAYYYY louder, are you fucking deaf?
Thanks for this Video, it helped me a lot :)
shakal pb No problem! Glad I could help!
shakal pb
Hmmm... That was a comprehensive guide, I feel so much better informed now. It all depends on whether I want to bash the exhaust header and pre-mix my fuel. Great
well thought-out video and clear explanation.. great advice
2 stroke is my go to bike it's a 2 in 1. Haul ass and kills mosquitos in the woods.
Ktm 6 days edition stands for how long it usually takes to blow em up
Subbed! I see you were on Vancouver Island earlier this month, wish I could have seen that race!
When I was in Canada last summer ich saw a store which looked exactly like yours. I'd liked to buy something in there for my supermoto but It was closed on that day 😐. I cant believe that I found this store on yt 🤘
My dream girl, good looking and can fix my bike!!!
ONLY TWO STROKE!
Both engines are perfect. Lets stop arguing about engines. Our real enemies are these quad bike guys
Love the video! ruclips.net/channel/UCKlHrLSNL5eVkNUjJALrYOg
I started riding on a 250 four stroke, but then I got into trials on a two stroke & fell in love with it. Now riding a two smoker GasGas EC300, very nice bike! Awesome comparison btw :D
So true about the 2stroke being lighter and more nimble. Also another fun aspect of the 2stroke, the sound is a lot more exciting
I think I'm too hard on my bikes but I swear I can't get more than 25 hours on my 2 stroke bikes without screeching to a halt with my back tire locked in place. After putting another 200 bucks in it I've earned myself 25 more hours. As for my four stroke bike.. I smack top rpm everytime I ride without fail, almost never change the oil on time and damn. it just doesn't stop
what do you do to your bikes. years ago i had an 2010 ktm 85 sx when i was racing and they were notorious for blowing up early at 40 hours. our engine made it right through to 80 hours before blowing. bike was only used for racing and banging off the limiter all the time
Beta 300rr 2T no longer requires gas mixing it's now electronic with separate tanks :)
So I've heard! That's pretty wild :D.
That's pretty cool! I never knew that!
My Beta 2 Stroke also has a ton of low end torque. 2 ignition curves with a flick of a switch and an adjustable Power Valve.
Yeah but it's not as sexy as KTM
your right it's not.. It's 10 times more sexy!
you are correct, considering a 250xc for woods, and keeping my 450 for track.
I'm a 2 stroke guy but this poped up in feed so I watched
it's not called a 'header' it's an expansion chamber!
it's called a stomach
Justin Lankester header pipe, expansion chamber, same difference. some people call it a header pipe, some call it an expansion chamber.
Its correct terminology is an expansion chamber.
Big Tom yep, the header/manifold is the bit before the expansion chamber not the rest of the exhaust! I would rightly expect to be laughed at if I asked for a performance cat-back header for my car!
Yeah you would get some weird ass looks asking for somethin like that lol
2 strokes are the best type of bike and the large header pipe looks bad ass!
I totally agree with everything mentioned in this video and very well done. I do think there are a few things worth mentioning though. A lot of the pros of a four stroke can be done to a two stroke with a few mods. You can tune the bike to a smoother powerband (although it will never be as smooth as a four stroke), 300 two strokes are known for their great low end torque in comparison to smaller two strokes, and a Lectron carburetor can nearly eliminate the need to rejet a carb. I completely agree with the weight comparison, my dad's 2012 WR450F is noticeably heavier than my 2005 300EXC both on the trail and even when picking it up onto the stand. Parts are also substantially cheaper for my two stroke than my dad's four stroke, and replacing them are much easier than my dad's bike. I also completely agree with the header pipe on a two stroke, much more susceptible to dents and being crushed (also not very cheap to replace $225 for mine). Well done video and you've earned a subscriber.
Very well put! Best 2 vs 4 stroke video I've seen so far! I prefer 4 strokes though! But why have just 1 bike? Get both for different purposes
Funny though , I've got a 450 4t and 300 2t and the 4t just doesn't get ridden anymore , weather it be technical single track or desert runs I'll grab the 300 !
You don't have either of them if you think that
Alex Frankl dish me that 4t???? Haha
How is mixing gas a con it's all about opinion
+PAul Schalkham I thought the same thing...great minds think alike :D
Hahaha true
Yah but it a preference between fuel injection
Because on a four stroke you still have to change your oil. I'm saying it a preference between that and mixing gas
+HelmetCamMatt it takes less than a minute to mix gas
Im new into dirt bikes (coming from a quad) and im 5'4 maybe 5'5 130lbs and i do a lot of trail riding, which bike/stroke would you guys recommend?
i subscribed because you reply and your bideos are awesome
Well thank you! I appreciate it :).
Ktm on Sunday atm on Monday dnf ready
K eeps
T aking
M oney
Obviously a 2-stroke, they’re faster, easier to fix and sound amazing.
Don’t forget that smell.
Something about two stroke exhaust in the morning- it’s better than coffee
PapaWheelie true that
Not necessarily faster depends the bike
4 strokes faster on a track
U mean a 4 stroke
I always said I would never get a 2 stroke. Now I have one and I love it! I agree you need one of each!
Good vid, good info for new riders... It seems you work for a KTM dealership but I'll leave this here either way... The new Beta 300R 2 stroke has oil injection.... it's f*cking amazing.... Can't wait to see what KTM/Husky develop to compete.
Ok say it takes 1 minute to put some oil in fuel on a four stroke if your racing you have change your oil every couple of races that could take up to 30 mins plus if inexperienced change oil filter and if you don't you have a chance on blowing up your motor after that your looking at 3000 to just get it fixed where on a 2 stroke you put some oil in your fuel and if you happen to blow a motor $300 and it's fixed so you can buy a money waster and slower bike or a faster and cheaper to run bike your choice personally I ride a cr125 and a kx250 2strorke
Trent T Okay, so this is a basic comparison video made for the inexperienced looking into purchasing a motorcycle. There are obviously pros and cons to both and what some people think are cons, could be pros to others. Basically what I was trying to let these people know is that a two stroke requires and extra step when fuelling. It's just something I thought I should mention to anyone that is new to the sport. Not necessarily a major con, just figured it was more of a con than an pro. I had to mention it somehow. Every once in a while it can be a pain in the butt, maybe you're out of mixing oil and it's a Sunday and the shops are all closed, it's happened to me many of times. People are so quick to pick the video apart when all I was doing is trying to get some basic information to new riders haha.
So your saying there is not a shop open on Sunday that sell oil that is the biggest load of shit I have ever heard I will tell ya now it's better changing oil after every 3 rides and wasting more time fixing your bike than actually riding it and then if you don't change oil you have more of a chance of blowing a motor than you have to fix it and that takes a lot of time meanwhile all your friends are riding because they where smart and brought a 2 stroke where you don't have to change oil after every 3 rides u don't have the risk of spending 3 k on your bike you don't have to waste time working on it as much I am sure that a person that wants to get in to riding dosent want do maintenance on there bikes a lot plus if they blow a 2 stroke up it is going to be quicker to get running again and cheaper so like I said time waster and money waster or a bike that's faster cheaper less maintenance it's a pretty obvious choice
Trent T Hahaha you are right out to lunch. It's amazing how close minded people can be. I can see now that you've got barely enough brain power to keep your heart beating. If you had an attention span at all and watched the entire video, you'd have seen that a spoke about he maintenance costs of the 2 stroke vs the 4 stroke as well. Yes, I am well aware that the 4 strokes are expensive to maintain in comparison. I've owned more than one of each and have experienced it for myself. This doesn't mean that whoever buys a 4 stroke isn't smart. Believe it or not, some people can actually afford to ride one and enjoy them more. Pretty cool eh? Haha man, this is why I don't respond to comments on this video very often. People with very little brain power lose their minds over the tiny things rather than seeing the big picture. I was MENTIONING to people who are NEW to riding that 2 strokes require mixed fuel. It's no big deal. In no way, shape, or form does it say in this video that mixing fuel costs more than maintaining a 4 stroke machine. Nor does it imply that a 2 stroke isn't worth buying for this reason. It's just a little bit of information for newbies. Calm down, take a pill, and go watch something else if my stuff is so offensive to you haha.
Now your just being a fucking smart ass I might have not read correctly but u said mixing gas is more expensive than changing oil because that incorrect changing oil is time wasting and is going to cost more i don't know what country you live in but j know where I am I can go down to any fuel station and they have a pump for 2 stroke fuel so that way your not going to mix fuel and you will just have to do what every four stroke rider has to do yes I know four stroke can be fun to ride if you say live on A farm and have land to muck around on in the mud but there still boring there always the same and reason why I put some of the Points in my comment so if someone that is looking to get in to the sport he knows more detail about prices and maintenance because you briefly said it in your video you just say there more expensive when you say new rider arent going to know if you Mean buy $100 dollars or a couple of thousand dollars
+Megan Griffiths Enduro haha I like how you got salty with him instead of just taking it! personally I truly believe the 2s will always dominate the 4s on paper and on the track in the hands of an experienced rider because let's be honest for a beginner the four stroke is easier then the 2 stoke however there is more power and torque on a two stoke you just have to practice in order to get it from the bike properly but I think you did a good or decent job informing people! thanks for the video
2 stroke has more power than 4 stroke
Except of course for any modern 450, and the ktm 350’s. There is nothing with more power than those 450s.
I owned 3 two strokes. Still have a two stroke. But i just lately went to the track on ktm ride day. After riding two 2020 two strokes, i jumped on the 250sxf. i have to say that i completely fell in love with this bike. I didnt really feel the weight diference comparing to the 150sx but just loved how smooth and predictable the bike was. The low rpm power was something i never experienced. It felt great coming out of corners. I just loved it. Really looking on buying one. The 150sx was also very nice to ride and less expensive also.
good advice, ive got a bandit 600 and a drz400, now im going to get a ktm exc 300 :)
Love the vid! 2 Stroke all the way!
nibbify yeeyee
Love the sound of a two smoke but I'm a big guy and love that low end grunt of a four stroke.
Cowboy4737 clearly you haven't ridden a big bore enduro 2 stroke the low down grunt of thoses are incredible and will blow away a 4 stroke low down
I agree! Two bikes! I have a question though what is your preference in the woods. Wide or short ratio? Also do you prefer the XC enduro or is an SX better suited?
+azdesertdog Oooh boy haha tough decision. I've never riden the ktm two stroke sx before but I owned an SXF for a couple of years. I definitely prefered the transmission in my SXF. I'm actually not much a fan of the wide ratio transmission. I'm making it work but I can't wait to get back on a 250 sxf or a 300 xc!
My first big bike was a 97 cr125 and I didnt know much about bikes at the time and when the top end went I got rid of it because I wasnt knowledgeable enough to rebuild. I had it for a lil over a year though and honestly did love the bike. Then after that I picked up my 04 Crf250 and it is a blast!! I like it and all but riding my buddys 2015 yz250f with the fuel injection i feel im missing out on some more and smoother power wich has made me not dislike the bike but think about other options. Then this past weekend I went to my other buddys 4th of july party and he has trails in his woods behind his house. Couldnt get my bike there so he lended me one of his many bikes. I picked out the 99 yz250 wich ive ever ridden a 250 2 stroke before n I'm glad I asked to ride it because I forgot how much fun the 2 strokes were, and on top of that it felt more torqy than my bike with I loved even though Im not a HUGE fan of the instant hit of power when the power band comes in I got used to it and started to ri like it was my own bike. So now I'm looking for another 2 stroke so I'll have both!
No one would pick a four stroke of equal cc over a two stroke for the track. You would give up gobs of torque and hp
450 or a 250 2 stroke?
U suck pewdiepie or vanoss?
Critical HP Gaming depends on the ridding m8
Critical HP Gaming 450
for the average rider, a 450 is too much power. be honest with yourself
Is there any kits that you can fit to a two stroke so you don't need to mix gas?
Im 2 stroke all the way no hate to 4t riders though, props to you guys for dealing with the hate and staying loyal to your stuff. Im just an enduro type.
Forgot to mention that a 2 stroke always sounds better when revved up
Caleb Guidroz no
4 strokes sound WAY better that's one of there pros
No way lol, way to loud in my opinion, don't get me wrong my old rmz450 sounded nasty but most 4 strokes are really loud, i prefer the power of a 250 2t also.
Ledgend27 that's why a 250 2 stroke has as much power as a 450 4 stroke
skojo3e lol
I love love Canadian accents!
Fuel injection for 2 strokes is here thanks to KTM
and tm
ok, but if your woods riding and going over boulders and logs you've got more chance of ripping the header pipe off?
My 4 stroke Honda 250x works great off-road but it’s also a racing bike. It’s a mix of both.
We all see you reading that script at the side pretending you're looking at something else in the room
+Kx BDAN You do realize she is looking at the side screen of the camera hahaha
aka where the script is located cos she actually dosent know what shes talking about:)
+Kx BDAN Dont be jealous bud that she knows more then you do when it comes to dirt bikes...There is no script...SMH
I SEE YOU there is, lol, and she dosent shes just there cos shes a female...SMH
and she forgot about the big game changer with the 2 stroke.... waaaayyy less reliable
2stroke for off road 4 stroke for motocross
mmm... no
4strokes have wider torque so they are better for enduro and for mx anything you like
+sakke sikiö un no have you ever rode a big bore 2 stroke it has crazy torque.
+Zane Zinn okay
eks koskaa oo ihmetelly miks kaikki pro ajajat (Graham Jarvis, Jonny Walker jne) enduros ajaa 300cc 2 tahdeil? koska neo kevyempii, niis on itseasias aikas vääntävä kone ja neo tehokkaampii jne.
Its so simple 2 strokes are faster because the engine dont have to wait for valves to open and close. therefore lower RPM, 2 strokes on other hand no valves. no cam shaft. none of that heavy bullshit, there you go now you got a good weight reduction. and when your engine doesnt need to wait for valves = higher RPM. higher RPM = more torque... more torque = more HP, more HP = More speed, and the faster it gets up to that speed.
Thank u Megan , subscribed to ur channel (y)
You're absolutly right, you need one of each. Although fun factor is much higher on 2T
All bullshit aside .I need a 1000cc two stroke with electric start and fuel injection please
That sounds like a recipe for a suicide machine. I like it.
sounds like someone is suicidal you might want to call the suicide hot line and get help!
DIESEL POWER!!
hahahaha, man u got me cracking into laughter bro..a 1k cc 2 stroke.... dude i will get a drag bike.. we can start a team.. what u say... lol...#usportman
some guys from new zealand built a "YZR 500" (video is on youtube) fi cr500 engine in a yz250f frame, thing sounded crisp af
I apologize for the negative feedback! But I've seen the how the industry and the sport of MX is declining because people think four strokes are so great. For example, dad and son want to race MX. Son wants a 4 stroke like the pros! (because they think four strokes are faster, not know that CC for CC two strokes produce MORE power AND torque than four strokes) Dad buys a 250f... 250f shortly after blows up because that is what they do (I've seen it a million times)... Bike goes up for sale... worthless.. Because its too expensive to fix and requires more mechanical ability, and tools. But if say they had bought a 125 or 250 2t instead, they can easily and cheaply afford to rebuild the bike themselves in their garage. Motocross was hugely booming in the 90's. Since the millennium the industry has been in a decline. Which you can partially blame on the economy but I've been in it from the start and I can tell you the four stroke fad has HURT local tracks and riders. Big time. Theres so many misconceptions about the two strokes still circulating today (even though more people are becoming wise to it, and buying two strokes instead) that are influencing people to buy four strokes, which in turn is just filling the pockets of rich CEO's in charge of Honda, Kawi, Suzuki, Yamaha, because four stroke dirtbikes not only cost more, but they cost much much more to fix. In conclusion, four strokes are for people who can AFFORD them. I want to see MX come back to what it used to be!
For some reason RUclips doesn't show the full comment. It ends with ... in the middle of your sentence.
But here is the thing....I switched to a two stroke for these reasons you just described. I had a 250f and it was expensive to maintain and more complex to work on. I like my two stroke a lot. I still really enjoyed my four stroke though and I miss it sometimes. Some people really prefer the way a four stroke rides. To each their own right. I fully agree with you about the fact that they have been trying to weed out the two strokes in moto/supercross because they make more money off them, period. But that's not what I was trying to get across in the vid. Just giving my input on the ups and downs of both bikes. Feel free to give negative feedback.
It's all good.
i'm five foot three. 122 lbs. Around 30 inch seats would work for me. I basically am going to try to get a part time job and try to work as much as I can after I turn 16 in two months. I know it'd take me about a year or something to get the bike and gear. So, which would be a better option? I need something cheap to buy and maintain. What about gas and mixing? Would that be too expensive? I'm a beginner beginner so...
what stroke is the ladder you use to get on the bike?
I just watch a 5 min video to de told to buy 2 dike
That was a wast of time
this is sooo screwed up u can get oil injection on a 2 stroke and fuel injection don't listen 2 this unless ur smoking the same thing they are!!!
chrome nation mixing gas is easy. If people think that 4 strokes are better because u don't need to mix then they clearly can't under stand simple measurements. Mixing gas takes under a minute
Its an old vid dude.
One thing I have noticed with my 4-t is when your into the tight first gear picking through the exposed rocks hill climb trail for long periods they do tend to over heat. It has never boiled over on me but I have had to stop because of the heat the fan throws onto my right knee.
spot on Megan. 2 stroke, jd jet kit, buy a pipe a season, cheap to rebuild top end, tight technical ridding, lower center gravity, rotating mass . four stroke low end power = traction loss, spin tire , more wight on top of engine , expensive to rebuild. just depends on where you live and what type of ridding you do.
there is actually fuel injected two strokes.......
Sean Perks like the nsr125 possibility the best 2 stroke
I ride 2 stroke the best on the market
Shut the fuck up lol.
Can anybody list down names of 230cc 2 strokes ? Im looking to buy
Nicely produced! A mic would have done wonders, but still okey.
Most of my veteran enduro riding buddies are running 4-strokes and seem happy with them. I chose a 2-stroke for the lighter weight and simplicity. Cheaper parts as mentioned but also a bit more time spent in the garage I would say.
Both bikes has there place nowadays. Can't really go wrong either way I think.
+BeachHead79 Well said! It really is hard to choose. And yes, I definitely need a mic! Especially in that noisy bike shop...
you said at the end a 4 stroke for the track and a 2 stroke for the woods, but its the other way around
Lol.. wrong, why do you motocross and supercross is dominated with 4Ts and extreme or hard enduro harescrambles are dominated with 2Ts? She's right 2Ts for woods and 4Ts for track!
no that's like sayin you would take a wr250 out on the track and taking a yz125 in wood
+PowerStroke Gaming I run a yz125 in the woods and I like it better than my old 4 stroke
Cummins Diesel no its not
Cummins Diesel why do you think all the enduro pros ride 2 strokes. why do you think motocross has switched to 4 stroke
It doesn't matter, a dirt bike is great and they all are good! Think positive! :)
Except for a 4 stroke uuuhhgggg...
what was the size of the bike next to you while you were sitting down
Are 2 strokes good for long distance? Thanks :)
Marry me
0:38 did anyone see that shirt that says my farts sound like four strokes but smell like two strokes
Rode my first 2 stroke the other day, it was a 2011 husky WR 250, I’m hooked now, getting ready to get a KX 250 2 stroke
When your bikes sinks in deep water, two strokes can get going again a lot easier, right?
I love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning.
And just after lunch.
And before dinner.
And after . . . .
2stroke: loud and annoying
4stroke: sounds like an actual engine
4 strokes sound like my ass after going out for Mexican
+Ascent Zaak that was so funny
2 stroke sounds like the engine is going to just shatter
+Dasa Toilet no it's just that 2 strokes are as useless as a blowfly
Great vid would have to say never tried a 2 stroke before but the smell is epic lol so it's 4 stroke all the way for me
XT
+The XT Donkey Thanks! Yes, four strokes are amazing bikes. I can't wait to get back on one.
Also, as of 2016 Betas 250/300 models are oil injected and do not require you to mix gas. Roughly every 3rd tank of fuel requires you to add a quart of oil to the tank under the seat.
+originalschmid Wow that's rad! I didn't know that. Thanks for the info!

My son is 12 we are looking at around 80cc trail bike. What should we get?
The new 2 smokers are fuel injected right? (2019-2018 model)
Yes
There is EFI for 2 strokes. Mostly snowmobiles use them. There are injectors spraying oil directly on the crankshaft and there is a fuel injector on the top of the crank case. If I recall correctly a few of the most popular 2 stroke bikes have EFI conversion kits for them too.
i was always a 2 stroke guy until i rode a 2012 kx250f and within 2 weeks owned a brand new 2014 yz250f.
bikes i had were ktm65 yz85 yz125 yz250 and now a 4 stroke.
haha nice ending, but a great review ❤️😍
Whats a good bike for muck about riding on property? I want something thats reliable and doesn't need too much fiddling. As well as being able to take punishment and still be fun.
Maintenance!
On my old RD-400, I could
change a piston (or both) in
2 hours. And, that includes
riding the bike to the Yamaha
dealer and back, and letting
the engine cool down before
switching the piston(s) out.

4 stroker my WR is bullet proof and I can lug it to the moon great for steep rocky, rooty trails here in Washington state
Thanks for the vid. Most videos don't explain jack for a newbie to learn anything about Dirt Bikes. We just end up buying Harleys instead.😎👑🔥
The big thing that sold me on 2 stroke is how low you can bog the engine before they stall. They also seem to avoid over heating like I had on my 450.
My first enduro motorcycle was 2t .It was old KDX 1993, Carburetor +40 HP, seriously scary. At the moment I own KTM Freeride 250 2t . And I'm so missing that old, wild, battle toad.
