Everyone, you have to try this recipe out! It’s really good. I made this recipe but I kind of tweaked it, instead of Worcestershire sauce, I used brown sugar BBQ from Kraft. In a stand mixer, I kneaded the dough for 10 minutes Then after 10 minutes, for 2 minutes I kneaded it with my hand and kept punching it to get thicker, after that I let the dough rest for another 10 minutes Then I simmered the seitan for 35 minutes After that I drained it to get all the liquid out, and deep fried it in peanut oil. This is the best vegan fried chicken I have ever had, you need to try it. My father who is a heavy meat eater went out to Popeyes and compared the 2 together! And he said he liked the vegan one more, the texture of the seitan is on point and the flavorings as well!
@K ever considered that sometimes - now I know this is crazy - us vegans just want some burgers every now and then? Doesn’t have to have nutrients all the time. We also eat a lot of food just because it tastes good. Veganism is primarily for ethics, secondarily for nutrition.

If you’ve never made seitan, watch how small she’s making the patties. When you cook seitan it will almost double in size. You don’t want monster chicken patties lmao
Hey boo. Try alkaline ranch. Hemp seeds, dill weed, salt, little lime juice, onion powder, and some water to thin it out. Blend it. You can add more seasonings but thats just the basic

I been a vegan for almost 13 years, my wife just got started on her vegan journey and my 3 daughters been vegan because they just didn't like meat at all.
I grew up making gluten steaks thru seventh-day adventists. This reminds me of it but it took us like 3-4 hrs for steaks boiling in soy sauce broth. Lol

Also aside from the importance of soaking up any excessliquid, it is also of the utmost important that you do not, and I repeat do not, kneed the seitan for more than 30 seconds! If you do then it will completely ruin the texture :(

I just somewhat did the same thing but instead of seitan, I soaked chickpeas, then cooked them with a couple of onions, some garlic, poultry seasoning, salt, Worcestershire, soy sauce a sprinkle of red pepper flakes and I added a touch of fish sauce. I'm not vegan by any stretch, but I wanted to see what I could do with the 6+ pounds of chickpeas (garbanzo) beans I had. After I let them soak all day I put them in my pressure cooker for (started timer when it started whistling) for 10 minutes. I turned off the heat and let it release pressure on its own. I'll be making these into chicken nuggets or chicken patties tomorrow! I haven't added the nutritional yeast or anything to it and these things are GREAT!!

Jessica Ingram No not an insta pot. I’ve had a pressure cooker long before the insta pot. Just set you pot to pressure for 15 minutes, and let it go.i did the quick release then removed the setain and pressed the water out like she said. Then followed the rest of her recipe.

Yes I use it in my chikon tofu & my fake fish it makes it a little spicy

I just somewhat did the same thing but instead of seitan, I soaked chickpeas, then cooked them with a couple of onions, some garlic, poultry seasoning, salt, Worcestershire, soy sauce a sprinkle of red pepper flakes and I added a touch of fish sauce. I'm not vegan by any stretch, but I wanted to see what I could do with the 6+ pounds of chickpeas (garbanzo) beans I had. After I let them soak all day I put them in my pressure cooker for (started timer when it started whistling) for 10 minutes. I turned off the heat and let it release pressure on its own. I'll be making these into chicken nuggets or chicken patties tomorrow! I haven't added the nutritional yeast or anything to it and these things are GREAT!!

Girrrrrrrlll 🤗🤗🤗 I have tried many setain recipes, but this is by far the best. I put it in my pressure cooker for 15 mins. and it came out Great! I think the mustard in the wet dredging did the trick. Cudo’s to you. I don’t know what Poppey’s sandwich tastes like but this was delicious.

Jessica Ingram No not an insta pot. I’ve had a pressure cooker long before the insta pot. Just set you pot to pressure for 15 minutes, and let it go.i did the quick release then removed the setain and pressed the water out like she said. Then followed the rest of her recipe.
