      its all a ruse lol. i tried the bacon recipe he got hella excited about and it was one of the worst things ive made in my life and i cook all the time. i hate to bash a dude putting in work, i watched this channel a lot before trying a recipe, but goddamn did that shit suck. every time i watch his recipes i keep that in mind and i cant help but think they are all garbage. my only advice is to try the recipes and see for yourself. pull back the curtain....

      @zachyg hahahah excuse me? its a ruse?? nah bro. I have always been honest in my videos, when I don't like something I will tell people if its bad or if it needs something extra. I have released videos where recipes completely fail. You obviously haven't watched a lot because I have had plenty of failed recipes with bad reactions.
      1. Everyone has different tastes, not everyone is going to like the same thing.
      2. If it is the worst thing you made in your life then you made it wrong. I can't control your mistakes in the kitchen.

So sorry you made my recipe wrong or you have the taste buds of a squirrel. Either way you made one thing out of over 250 recipes and decided to bash me as a ruse? Pathetic man honestly pathetic

    You’re my hero 😭😭😭😭 also you can buy the gardien patties with no breading. They’re called the chick’n scallopini. I’ve breaded them before and they’re a great neutral base!

    Made this with Whole Foods brand patties. The flavor and crunch was fantastic. The only change I would make was to use the Gardien patties because the whole foods patties were too heavily breaded. It was hard to figure out where the breading ended and the patty began.

    Just made this with both Gardein and Morningstar brand chick’n patties. Gardein patties turned out much better. My mom and brother, who are meat eaters, even said they were delicious! Thank you for sharing this recipe!! I’ve been on the hunt for a good vegan fried chick’n recipe for a while.

    YES YES YES I would love for you do more with store bought mock meats. we don't always want to make everything from scratch. sometimes a good idea using store bought stuff can be a big help on a night where you don't want to be in the kitchen forever llove love love your channel. just did a modernist pantry order (already had an account) for methylcellulose. ty for that

      You might as well make your own. Those products by Gardein are expensive. The fact that you're taking out ingredients to do this is already making it more expensive.

      I think it's awesome that she's introducing her family to different options. It's a stepping stone to healthier eating and healthier cooking. I know I started with purchasing prepackaged vegan foods before cooking my own and I've never been happier or healthier.     I just made it and it was amazing. Honestly couldn’t tell that it wasn’t actually chicken. I will definitely make it again and probably triple the cayenne for some extra heat. Thank you for making all of these vegan recipes!

    Yeah this was a success two times!
    The first time they didn’t have the patties in-store, so I went with the scallopini like another person suggested. It was pretty good and light, as in, it wasn’t a heavy on my stomach, I’d repeat this as like a lunch sandwich with sum sliced veggies on the side. Or use this version of chick’n as fried chicken strips in a wrap.
    I ended up finding the actual patties at a different store and it was incredibly accurate (to a chicken burger). Much more filling as a meal. When I peeled back the initial breading I found more oats coming off than the scallopini. The patty version made a great dinner w/ fries.

    I tried 4 different chix patties. Gardien, Aldi's brand, Viana, and Quorn vegan fillets. Had a group of people, vegan and meat eaters, taste test. Quorn hands down. I still soaked them in the bullion broth before hand, and followed your recipe. They are the BOMB! Also, I used "Better than Bullion" No Chicken Base. It's a liquidy gooey base, not as salty, and easier to slowly add as much or as little as you need. THANK YOU SO MUCH for all you're doing.

    Cant wait to try this. Humbly requesting more airfryer recipes!! I did nashville hot sammich both deep fried and in the airfryer. The only difference was a SLIGHT diff in texture but they were both insanely good.

    Popeye had a spicy mayo that went on the sandwich that complimented it so well! maybe mixing the vegan mayo with cayenne and hot sauce will bring so heat to your sandwich. 🤤 you can thank me later🤗

    I think to be somewhat fair, you should have someone try the Popeyes sandwich and the one you made side-by-side. I know it's NOT going to be 100% the same but it would be cool to see how close you came to duplicating the chicken sandwich.

      Only time I saw him do that was when he had his dad test between beef, beyond, and impossible burgers. SS: "Which one is the real burger?" Dad: "Well, that one but the others aren't bad. " SS: "See! He can't tell which is which!"

      @@jonathonmacbride9951 I did see one video where he brought his GF to taste test an item, I forgot which video and food it was. I think if he does that it will put at ease the fear of vegan tasting horrid, I'm pretty sure he's making vegan foods taste pretty close to the real thing.

    I wonder if I left the breading on, dipped the patty into egg replacement that is seasoned with chick-un powder, then seasoned flour, no egg liquid, flour, and finally cook in oil? Perhaps I could eliminate soaking the patty and scraping the original breading away.

    I liked the use of bouillon cubes as kind of a quick marinade ! Every good enthusiast has little quirks/pet peeves about preparation or presentation. Mine is, I hate the idea of a dry piece of bread as part of a sandwich. Perhaps Popeye's only puts Mayo on one piece? I dunno? But, I loved the idea of refurbishing the Gardein Patty. Great job! 😃

    Wow dude, you’re amazing! Makes me wonder why the hell gardein doesn’t make them in that fried chickn style to begin with.
    I would love to see you do a small series for upgrading store bought “fake” meats.

    Lastly, in Canada Popeyes does not use brioche for their sandwiches, they use these weird artisanal diamond shaped bun things, since Popeyes isn’t vegan I haven’t been there in a while, but yeah, we’ve had chicken burgers for a long time up here. The burger you made today more or less resembles a burger from Mary browns, look that up if you’re interested

    Have you ever tried the Better Than Bouillon Vegetarian Not Chicken Base? I've used it to flavor tofu, soy curls, soups, and I prefer it over Not Chick'n cubes. It's awesome! Maybe you could do a video comparing vegan "chicken" bouillon? 😁

    I would love to see your take on seafood. I find that it's the hardest to replicate. Usually, recipes call for seaweed, kelp or the like, but I don't know if it really comes close to the taste of seafood.

      It’s mainly nutritional yeast, salt, msg, some sugar, and poultry seasoning. Maybe his doesn’t have poultry seasoning since he always adds it back in

    Morningstar makes a good vegan chick'n patty as well. Interesting I have the exact idea in mind and all of a sudden your video pops up on my feed! Seeing how crazy it's been on social media regarding Chick-fil-A and Popeye's chicken sandwich, I thought what if we can veganize this! Thank you for this video!

    I'm a year late, but I will say that you could use the chik'n scaloppini which you don't have to take breading off of to use and is already kind of seasoned to start. Love the vids!

    Hi I'm a relatively new sebi but was super excited to find your channel a couple months ago I've been addicted ever since me and my mom and my sister literally binge watcher videos after we get off work anyhow I love this recipe because I buy these on a regular basis and can't wait to give it a try maybe you should try some of the vegan buffalo wings and chicken strips and things that they have is well and see what you can do with those maybe you can create Popeye's chicken tenders or even a McDonald's flavor

    Do you cook with bicarbonate soda? Makes food alkaline and upgrades your alkaline intake I normally mix vitamin c powder and bicarbonate soda and mineral water but I have added it to cook both savoury and sweet.
    I've added it to gravy and sauces bicarbonate soda and buckwheat flour to thicken stuff ... peace from London UK GaiaCalls.
