- Indulgence is the antidote to the deleterious effects of modern work that is solely associated with toxic accomplishment, the way it promoted by the American Dream. Work can indeed offer accomplishment, but an accomplishment far greater than the one limited within the confines of our social mythology. Indulgence can really help us understand how.

Indulgence isn’t just a way to turn imagination into reality but it is the way in and of itself and we have been ignoring it.
In this we have been foolish, but there is no reason to go on being foolish forever.
Just saying hi Ade. Hows your day? Pretty nice sunshine
“Suffering breeds Character “… I was brought up with type of thinking. It teaches that being alive equates with unhappiness and strife. Whoa.. so sad.. I remember the first time I heard Carlin say, “The American Dream, You have you be asleep, to believe it!”. It struck deep. I no longer play the Game. Creative endeavors are so much fulfilling, than the competition/riches path. We don’t need most of what is being pushed. Thanks for your thoughtful work.
That was such a powerful comment. Thank you for this.
Throughout my life I always wanted to believe that suffering builds. I finally realized about 2 years ago that it's struggle that builds character. But suffering? Suffering breaks
@@WithoutFear804 but what's the difference
@@apocalyptika suffering is accepting your circumstances without doing anything about it
Problem with dreams are they go away once you wake up.
If you wake up.
People also don't know how to play anymore. Very sad.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
In my point of you the life is full of suffering. But there is stupid suffering (I´m only work for money, drugs, women or men and so on) and the type of that is great and transcend the destiny of ones own heroic path. I think the second is the best part.
Some of your end comments remind me of the Buddhist philosophy on work ethics. It focuses on finding meaning and thus indulgence in work, no matter how trivial or lowly.
Great channel btw ❤️
Thank you :)
Amazing video! I find "Indulgence" to be one of those things that are not easily understood by people, hence not easy to imprint to humans. Let's take "money" as a counter-example where everyone understands fully its value so everyone pursues it. I guess we need to do something similar for those values in order for them to propagate to more people. Thoughts on how we could break down "Indulgence" a bit more to make it more reachable?
I kept thinking of Nietzsche watching this in relation to his views on the herd. Also intentional and unintentional suffering came to mind.
What's more common? Intentional or unintentional?
@@metamorphosis_77 unintentional I’d say. Intentional is a choice we make like exercise, eating better etc to be healthier..it’s tough so we suffer. Unintentional is doing nothing, getting sick, losing independence etc…unintentionally we suffer. So intentional or not we’re all going to suffer. If intentional we at least get some say in it. I find it interesting having experienced both in quite big ways.
Truth, Love and Peace for All
I am enamored by the content you put out.
Thank you brother
I think it all comes back to how much you know yourself and stop absorbing all the cultural trauma of previous generation.. not a lot of people ever get there, even less have the guts to go with it, and even less can "afford" it.. 🌈🧛☯️
a great video.
Capitalism, and hyper individualism
hyper super individualism
Something cool
For the algo
Hmmm. You got some of "it" right, I'll grant you that..
"it" is enough I guess
You don't sound like you are from America homie
