To me, the Flashback 2 is THE DEFINITIVE if you want authenticity in a console. I believe this is the only one out of the 12 revisions to be the original hardware that can be modded to add a cartridge slot. I still own mine and still love it. Centipede, river raid, millipede, Yard revenge and middle command is all I need.
The Atari Flashback 2 was great, a vast improvement from the first one which was a mini 7800 with the worst emulation I've ever seen. As far as any other flashbacks afterwards, my only interest was the flashback portable. The SD slot to add more games is a great feature.
@@GregsGameRoom yes, I remember reading about that and him butting heads with the company making it. Curt was the expert on the subject of Atari, they maybe should have listen to him a little more since he obviously knew the target demographic way more.
Curt was a great guy. I created a mod for the FB2 that I sell and sometimes I mod FB2's for people. Joe Decuir bought the Atari Flashback 2 Prototype from Curt and gave it to me, along with the Atari Flashback Portable prototype.

Curt also worked on the first one, but he didn’t have a choice but to do NES on a chip with that one.

Way different hardware. The 3 and up are NES on a chip I think
