Back in the day it used to be rust that killed cars.The manufacturers were shamed into removing that issue and built in electrical trickery as an alternative!!!!!

VAG tdi alternators! Got one out the top, proper nightmare never again. Much easier the other way, Aircon pump is 3 bolts and there is enough pipe to swing it out the way gassed up. So yes, fully recommend the bottom first approach next time 👀 top work 👍

If you is going near Hamburg, if you ask nicely Ford may let you take a look inside their obsolete parts warehouse where all the experimental and rare stuff gets shoved. Keep an eye out for a Taunus Transit aka Ford's ripping off of the VW bus and the original proto Transit, very very rare and desirable. Whilst at Ford Hamburg, they may still have lurking about the Tickford's MK2 1.4i Fiesta prototype, only one made and faster than a nun after her first vindaloo, 2dr coupe and booted Taunus Cortina's always nice esp the 2.3's basically the MKIV and V Cortina but in funkier trims and bodystyles, Opel Monza also very desirable esp the bodykitted Recaro GS-E with the digi dash only in white and boy racers wet dream. MKIII Taunus Coupe with the 2.3 v6 having the coupe back end from a Granada Coupe but the front end of a MKIII Cortina GXL... sexeh as fu..
Transits are great,driven them for hundreds of thousands of miles.never had any major issues with them and they are just so good to drive.

Mate went to fix his Toyota went to change the alternator and had to take out the drive shaft to get it out, it’s a manufacturer conspiracy

It is obviously a " lock up " somewhere probably a missing " empty buffer " countdown which normally doesn't matter because it's cleared by the last cycle , but probably there is a function that occupies the next register , that for whatever reason overflows and a bit of the code instead of counting say .. 01001 17 down to zero starts with FFFF 65,000 , you get a injector full on for a couple of seconds, it would be caught if the original programmer had cleared the buffer before calculating the on time needed , it's a " chain of consequence"

Got to agree with a few other comments on here about how all these computer modules generate weird faults which most garages cant repair and generate loads of flashy lights and money for the manufacturers! Vehicles were so much easier to fix in the old days!

Computers and software are the enemy! My 2015 Mondeo has had at least two software updates in it's time and I can't see any difference in performance, fuel economy or anything else.

The thing you are having with trigger is known as a "funny " in the electronics engineering trade , such things are useful as they allow a window on the workings of systems , there is a uncontrolled circumstance happening , it's like jailbreaking an iphone , it allows you to see further inside , it should never happen that one of these gets out into the wild , it's a catastrophy for Ford if it's them
