Had to grin at the "don't feel like going home yet" In the 90s I came off nights in Swindon one Sunday morning, 7am in the summer, and decided to do the Ridgeway on the way home. So I got on it at Hackpen hill like you, but headed south to the A4. . I knew it quite well as I used it on my off road cycle route. I elected NOT to do the drop into Avebury as it's quite steep. I love the ridgeway - an historical trading route thousands of years old, just a few yards in , you feel miles from anywhere and the scenery is wonderful. And oh yes, forgot to mention, I did it on my XV535 Virago .😂 .
OMG, I was wetting myself watching your video. I thought Jay was going to need some scuba gear to get out of that puddle. Great content as always. Well done Charlie and Roger.😂😂😂😂
Charlie, that looked really exciting and fun, it was so great to hear you laughing and enjoying yourselves, don’t feel too bad about dropping it as Wiltshire man and his group of riders also found that section difficult, I think you were lucky to fall off and not go through that deep puddle 🤭😎
Great to see the ‘Darth Vader Appreciation Society’ out and about having jolly japes!! Loved all the squeaks, giggles and huffing and puffing… Such fun!🤗🤣🤣🤣
Should have brought your scuba gear Charlie😂I really thought Jay was taking a dip in that big one🤣It looked like a lot of fun though😁I learned to ride offroad before taking to the roads, it helped immensely👍Great stuff Charlie😊
Hi Charlie, thanks for taking us home that wonderful adventure. Glad you’re OK after you fell off the bike and my God Jay went through a massive puddle. What a cool trail that’s why you bought Roger.
Love the white Randall & Hopkirk suit, perfect for trailriding 😂 Not done the Ridgeway in years so thanks for a really nice reminder to get back on it this year. I'll be himmy mounted as well but with slightly knobblier tyres, hope i do well as you 🤞🏼
Hi very enjoyable to watch beautiful scenery it did not look very enjoyable for you but hopefully it was good fun at least you had a helping hand brilliant stuff.
Hi Charlie. Good to see some off-road adventure. Looks like you enjoyed it a lot. Bike looking good in its environment. As always keep safe and the rubber side down
Great show Charlie. Done a bit of this stuff myself and, you don't really know that off roading is a genuine workout, before yo actually try it. I remember even my eyeballs werte sweating. Cheers.✌
Not sure if crawling up a dirt road is considered 'offroading' by the pro's but you had fun and made it in one piece. That's a nice day out in my book, any day. Groetjes uit 🇳🇱 NL.
Great vid Charlie, nice part of the ridgeway to go along , thought Jay was going to nose dive into that large puddle, thankfully looks like he had the strength to hold his line , well done Jay , Roger will need a good wash off after his tumble 😂 lot of huffing and puffing 😮💨, well done both of you, maybe see you both on Sunday ? Cheers Mitch 👍
"See it bumpy", "Yeah thats the bumpy bit"s" Neat looking route for a jaunt. Not that long ago you would have been having kittens doing that. Nice slow dismount in that rut
Brilliant ride Charlie. Isn't great doing something a little different? The day looked lovely and the scenery was fantastic. Your adventure adds to your experience, so good on you. Roger is an ideal bike for off road riding. Thanks for sharing.
Well you got Roger good 'n dirty there Charlie, but what a brilliant trail! We've got lots of lanes up here in The Peaks, but a good long trail like The Ridgeway's a bit special - nice one. 😎
Hi Charlie, another great video. Have you watched Itchy Feet on her travels? now, she does go off road!! Just like you she too has a great personality. As always ride and stay safe. Looking forward to your next one 😊
You two are a great Team...and that "little Bimble" was awesome to watch.Great Fun😂 I guess you are the UK's Bimble - Bee No. 1😎 Greetings from Germany sends CarpenterBea (bc. the CarpenterBee is the Bee of the year 2024!) haha P.S. I will def. check out the Ridgeway while Visiting UK🤓
Well done! My best tip for you is to stand up as much as you can on your everydaytrips. To master that will help you on the rougher trails❤ Keep it up😀
Great stuff Charlie. Got mine stuck down the feilds the other day. It literally just up by itself😂 There was a lot of huffing and puffing, I can tell you.😂😂
If, at about 18:10, you only listen to the sound and not look at the screen, you two could be involved in a different activity!! 🤣 Anyway you enjoyed. Thanks for your video. The weather is finally getting better, time for planning a holiday trip. Depending on the weather it will be Slovenia/Kroatia or Snowdonia/Brecon Beacons this year for me. Take care and drive safe Charlie!!

Good afternoon from Moray in Scotland! Brilliant video Charlie and Margaret and I loved the squeaks and giggles from you, some of which may have only been audible to dogs! 😅 Loads of fun! Keep up the good work lassie 😊
That was brilliant and when the chap went right through the middle and bike dipped omg I'm glad it wasn't me 😮 there are puddles then there are deep puddles 😮
Super stuff. Of course you aren't actually "off road" as you are on a legal highway, not all roads are black. In the Trail Riders Fellowship we call them Green Roads. Congratulations. Great fun. Stuart
Hi Charlie, I have walked the Ridgeway from Avebury (Overton hill) to Ivinghoe beacon 5 times and know it well. Some sections are closed to motor vehicles, some sections are open and very easy to ride and some sections are deeply rutted by 4X4 vehicles and very tricky to ride indeed. As for Himalayan rear master cylinders both myself and Dickie are now beginning to experience troubles too!
Great video, completely epic ride in the dirt. Make me want to buy adventure bike to try off roading again. But also afraid my old motocross racing days would come rushing back! I am not built for that anymore, thanks for great video.
Loved it Charlie. Your enjoyment and excitement was infectious, I had a beaming grin all the way through. You deffo chose the better line than Jay’s with that little off 😎
I hate those 360s if not used properly. I want to see the wonderful countryside as it is and not distorted. Only then, can I determine, if I also wanna go myself to see that part of the Country! You two seem to get on well, and the chat and the excellent audio is top notch. This could be the start of some exciting Dual-vlogs!
Parts of ridgeway completed - now wash bike again - I think pressure washing a bike is cruel but sometimes necessary - great content as always ride safe Charlie
About 16 minutes in, you failed to start channeling your inner Frau ... "Yutta Kleinschmitt." (She of the Paris-Dakar motorcycle rally fame.) That's were it all went wrong! 🤣🤣. Great video and a "Road to ride" for the future, I think.
So, I needed something cooler for the hot weather. Bought this stuff from Maximo Moto very reasonably at the end of last winter. The best time to buy summer gear!
Tell you friend I have the Bella 2 piece outfit from maximoto and its from Italy I belive. I've had my textiles for 5 years and with all the layers that come in and out and the waterproof layer has kept me dry in some corkng downpours. Fantastic outfit and cheap as chips and very comfy with a great safety rating
Well, you're certainly no Itchy Boots but as long as YOU enjoyed it. I would prefer to see you riding a difficult muddy track on your Himalayan where these bikes feel at home as does my 2022 Himalayan.

Otherwise love what you’re doing and both Jay and yourself are brilliant, like Itchy Boots but with more banter and maybe minus the hundred million dollar bank account (which I swear down, she gotta have)
Hi Charlie, did you fit the Hitchcock lowering links and drop the forks 20mm? If so apart from the less ground clearance did you find any difference with the handling, steering or suspension? Tia Brenden 😊
I’m just in a quandary whether to get a classic 350 or the Himalayan 411 as a first bike. Heart says the classic head says the himmy. Did you find much of a difference with the engines?
The Himmy has just a little bit 'more' and will go anywhere you point it, the 350 meteor ( same engine as the classic) was a lovely bike, but doesn't have the 'ill take you anywhere' feel that the Himmy does in my humble opinion.

Fabulous!
Here in the US they have BDR routes across each state, Backcountry Discovery Routes that follow trails and dirt or gravel roads.

Lovely views and some fun noises coming from Charlie and some deep puddles 😊
