My other gaming songs can all be found at The Escapist Magazine: www.escapistmag...
It says a lot about how memorable your songs are that I only listened to this one once, over two years ago, and the moment I head the chorus of your new Fallout 4 song I recognized it and came here to check if I was remembering it wrong
Such a good tune
I guess some things never change.
We fall, we fall again
Stare through empty window panes.
+David Gomez like war
+ELLIEtiAMO Tell that to MGS.
But war has change
You know what I love about Gavin? He's able to capture the spirit of any game or movie and turn it into song. That takes real talent that not a lot of other artists can do.
My favorite moment was right at the end.
I was a Good person all the way through.
The epiphany that I would not live to see the fruits of my labor, and a cleaner, safer wasteland for everyone, hit me, and left me sad, and wistful. Then, seeing the faces of people like Agatha, and the people of Oasis, had me happy, to see even my more minor actions left an impact. The fact that Fawkes refused to stop my destiny, and left the decision of life and death to me, left me positive of my choice, and so, the Lone Wanderer stepped out of Vault 101, and into the annals of history. I cried, and had a smile on my face, after 70+ total hours of playing.
I agree. Fallout3 had such a good ending, yet so many people complained about it. I often wondered if people miss the point of a noble sacrifice.
mca mac Noble sacrifice? The ending was really dumb if you think about it. Fawkes could have gone into the room and come back out, alive, meaning no one had to die. This ending was eventually patched in, showing even the devs thought that the initial ending was stupid.
Ryan, it was added in for popularity. While he could have, this is a much better cinematic ending, especially from a storytellers viewpoint. But not everyone liked it so meh. To each their own
I'm listening to this after the Fallout 4 song, and DAMN, it all comes full circle. :)
you are so right!
going back a watching this again. I didn't even realize the reference to this in your new fallout 4 song! damn.
There is no reference. Your reading too much into things.
He did use some lyrics from this song in the new Fallout 4 one though
He did, and some parts sounds exactly the same, it's almost a better version of the Beauty Bleak. There definitly IS a reference x)
The line "Sterile soil will harden, wasted world my garden" is featured in both songs.
Like how in (the 2021 version of) the Mass Effect 3 one Take it Back he has a callback line to Normandy, one of his other Mass Effect songs.
Probably worth reuploading this so more people get to see it...
5 years later and I still think this is true.
This is so beautiful. It truly is Beauty Bleak. But why the lack of views? It's one of the best songs you've ever made, in my opinion.
Lewis Toroian it's because it's old or people just don't like fallout 3 don't get me wrong I love fallout 3 but I feel like people jumped on the band wagon when fallout 4 came out and no one ever played fallout 3
Likely this video has so few views because it is hard to hear anything going on. I have been listening to this guy's music in the background for the last hour while doing stuff. Took me glancing at this video halfway through to realize there were actually people singing in it and not just loud music. Don't get me wrong, the music is good. But without being able to hear the words clearly, it might as well be the background ambient music you hear in the fallout games.
After 11 yeas i'm still listening to this once in a while to remember how much this game was a masterpiece
@Undertowstudios Fallout 3 is my favourite game, but I agree with you - it's not a good sequel to the originals. It should have been called Fallout Capital Wasteland or something, and New Vegas should have gotten the numbered title.
I watch this, years after playing the game for the first time, and it's like "I'm coming home again. This is MY playground." It's still the best song ever based on a Fallout game. And probably always will be.
as a friend of mine said: "This track went so deep in me, i actually felt like i was a tree."
now, as for my own, let me congratulate you for making a great post-apocaliptic ambience song! i guessed for myself it could've had these nuances between the Book of Eli, some Jean Michel Jarre vibe, the Vangelis track in Chariots of Fire, and maybe even that track of Philip Glass from Koyaanisqatsi (Pruit Igoe)!
Hemingwayesque how you can pack so much emotion into three lines.
“Poor Faulkner. Does he really think big emotions come from big words? He thinks I don’t know the ten-dollar words. I know them all right. But there are older and simpler and better words, and those are the ones I use.”
For sale: baby shoes, never worn
Not as big into Fallout as I used to be back in the 2010s, but still coming back to this wonderful song in 2023 to soothe an anxious mind.
Rarely do I get to use the words "haunting dissonance" on a video game song, but its the only workds I can think of to describe this. Excellent work.
How have I not even seen this!? It's hidden so deep!!
I was on a long buss-ride home yesterday. I spent most of the ride dozing off to your Little Sister song. This will make a nice addition for my next trip!
This song is absolutely awesome. I always get emotional when i beat Fallout 3. It's one of the greatest games i've ever played. It makes you think so much that it feels like real life. Like imagine one day there was an Apocalypse. Makes me think a lot. Just like any other RPG that's made me emotional. Fallout 3 will always remain number 1.
the ice cream place at 0:43 is called majority whips... politics joke XD
@111lower Thank you :) Glad it moved you
This is Miracle of Sound's equivalent of the "The Way Out Is Through" by NIN. Beautiful.
same and i love the way the sun glares in your eye signifying that you've left something so small and dark into something so big and bright signalling a huge change
7 years later and still gets goosebumps all over
12 years later and the gooses are still all over
Only one complaint about this. It will be stuck in my head for days. Great video, goes great with the song.
amazing and underrated.
Man this never fails to give me chills, goosebumps, and an overwhelming sense of melancholy beauty
I like it. The haunting tune made me think of all the places i found and the people i met in the wastes. This is by far one of your best
Outstanding. In my opinion, you knocked this one right out of the park in every aspect. This is a work to be truly proud of. Congratulations
- Jace
Just amazing man, seriously you have to be one of the most creative people in the world. I like all your videos so far. Fallout 3 is one my most favorite games of all time and this song could of been put into the game and it would of fit perfectly. Keep making these awesome videos.
i had the most fun in my life playing oblivian and fallout 3 thank you for secureing them and you a permanet place in my heart
Its nice to see that you're actually taking the trouble to put it up in 1080p rather 720p, keep the the great work man!
Gavin, the video is absolutely fantastic and fits the wonderful song like a hand made glove for a waste land warrior. Incredible. It's magisterial, moving, evocative... It's a hymn for the art that can sometimes be made from games. I wish I could say something more analytical and helpful,or even insightful but I just can't. I'm captivated, entranced by this lonely siren song... Mournful, yet hinting at this vast expanse of adventure- just like the game, really.
@miracleofsound You bet your Vault reared ass I did! absolutely loved that the video captured that vast feeling of emptiness and adventure promise just over that hill... *puts spurs to mount* That song felt like it belonged in the soundtrack; it felt like Clint himself would walk around to it. You made fantastic use of the landscape of Red Dead- loved the emotional core that John and Abigail form in that video.
it took me awhile to notice the lyric in the song. it really add the emotion to song.. Great job dude
Fallout 3, favorite scene is the exit from the Vault cave... suddenly your horizon expanded to the sunrise and set and you can't help but feel a thrill run down your spine. and your thoughts turn to "this is mine, from every heap of concrete and speck of dirt... it's mine..."
Amen brother. That and the introduction to Rapture in Bioshock were two of my favorite moments from this Console Generation.
I really love this video, and this song -- it perfectly captures the landscape of the wasteland, and the feeling of moving alone through a broken world. Good stuff.
Just got here because of some things never cahnge, and i gotta say, this is great. Very different from your other stuff, it's less of a song and more of an experience. And a wonerful one.
I love how your video game inspired music doesn't sound gimmicky. These are just beautiful by themselves, whether you like the games they're based on or not.
I love you for making another F3 song, even 3 years after its release v.v
I wish there was a large industrial park still in operation within D.C. The Pitt blew me away with the grimy smoke filled city that actually represented a hopeful future rather than a bleak tomorrow.
All the lyrics :
Sterile soil will harden,
Wasted world, my garden
Beauty bleak in a wasted world.
BUT ! This song/video doesn't need lyrics to be incredibly beautiful ! I really loved it =) Congrats !
these videos are simply amazing. there just so great and his name is well fitting miraceofsound keep up the great work man.
One of my favorite games ever, it's a shame that the "True ending was only ascessible by DLC and to get 100%(Platinum) you have to play it like 3 times IF you dont miss the PIP BOY DOLLS!!!! Great video!!!
might be my favourite song so far. a lot more moving than the rest.
God, just walking around in this game gives one a profound sense of loneliness. You are truly one of the last remaining vestiges of humanity, and seeing all of the desolation, decay, and just plain EMPTINESS really drives that point home. Fantastic game, and I hope a Fallout 4 comes out soon.
That was beautiful.
Love the ambient vibes. :)
It seemed to be written as if the world of Fallout 3 left you speechless, and you had nothing else but those lyrics to say.
Love "Wasted world, my garden."
Fallout 3 with fallout 4 graphics would be the most extraordinary and beautiful thing in the world for me or better fallout 1.I will cry from happiness if i ever see such a beautiful art.Now im going to see fallout 4 song :)
Wow, this is hauntingly beautiful.
sweet pure sweet..thoroughly enjoyed this song man..Keep up the good work!
@JohnfuckingSnow 2.32 is in The Pitt DLC and 3.25 is in Falls Church! You have to go through some sewers to find it :)
I like the ambiance sound of the song. It fits the barren wasteland feel of the game. I'm always surprised at how you can make each song different and yet make it fit the world that it's in. Good job once again mate!
@miracleofsound I was hoping, that the last line of the credits would be: 'Don't sew Mojang'. A well, great song! Really fits the atmosphere!
This made me cry, made me remember the badass moments in the wastland, very great song.
It's amazing how well this song transitions into Little Sister. Very nice!
@samprastherabbit That was a lovely comment, thank you. Exactly what I wanted to capture in the vid, that mystery and majesty they created with their beautiful ruined world. I agree, and am glad you saw what I saw in the game.
@Zangelin It runs wonderfully on my XBOX, a few frame rate hiccups but as you can see from the vid it looks very pretty.
@Thakill6 I probably will! Gonna be making new vids for my 2 Gears songs
You really captured the essence of Fallout 3 in this song. I actually want to start playing it again after watching this. Absolutely Fantastic. Keep it up. :)
Thank you, and thank you for sharing your talents with all of us!
This is so serene. I love all of your fallout songs, but I think this is my favorite. :)
I love listening to this song, keep up the good work!
@samprastherabbit Have you seen the video for Redemption Blues on the escapist? We made good use of the RDR lanscapes :)
JUST THEEE PERFECT SONG WHEN YOU CAN4T CATCH A SLEEP
That video was fantastic, as was the music. Fabulous work!
im amazed you manage to put one up almost every week
@BradTheAmerican Yeah, just outside the metro coming from the south!
miracleofsound This song Is not In your music playlist!
(Didn't you wonder why it had so few views? :P)
Bethesda let Miracle have his own radio station in the next fallout. It would be awesome another great song
I was just at Falls Church the other day! I'd never been inside LOB industries before.
It's kind of weird to think I found MoS through his Skyrim work and one of the best songs he's ever made was released before Skyrim was.
Holy shit how did I miss this one?
That's it. It's what I love most about the games I play. You get through that intro or whatever and claw your way to the surface and BLAM eye full of world to get out into. From Fallout 3, to oblivion and skyrim. Get out and see the world open up before you on your journey to nowhere in particular... I'm probably going to go grab FO3 for pc now =.= (been doing new vegas to death and back)
Great work again dude. Love how you make each song unique!
Thanks for that, And thank you for uploading all these great songs, I honestly wished I had musical talents like yours!
That was freaking amazing, dude!!!
Awesome. Simply epic.
And you do all this by yourself? You sir, are talented. Congrats on the 1 mil+ views :D
In my opinion fallout 3 has a very dark atmosphere compared to NV. In the capital wasteland u see very many ruins of war and u feel that horrors of it. While in New vegas u cant really see that since Mr house shot down most of the nukes headed for las vegas. Fallout 3 has also a better story in my opinion. It has very many touching moments like when ur dad sacrificed his life for the good of the team. So if u really want to see the horrors of an apocalypse its better if u play fallout 3 then new vegas but to me they are both very great games and will always be in my heart
CaptainDoucheNozzle I think that it is just more subtle in Vegas. There are some areas where you can tell that shit used to be really, really bad in Vegas. Reading the notes in Zion Canyon, for example. The west coasts just healed faster than he east, because it was hit less.
Also DC is just a more concentrated population center, which means there are just more buildings in general, outside of The Strip, Vegas is just desert, so it is also due to that
I Liked this before watching it, once I watched wanted to like it even more.
Watching this i have reached a very interesting thought this game would be very disheartening with no enemy's without the occasional fight to distract you from the rather bleak world it feels hopeless this was very nice and thought provoking
@miracleofsound in other words i also had goose bumps '' sorry if its not right'' i speak french hehe ''the arm hairs going WHOA?''
@Roronoa2zoro I have an instrumental or two from my old days... will upload them soon!
Beautiful piece Gav!
LOB Enterprises is a worthwhile location to check out, the unique Chinese pistol in there is pretty decent.
Low on on lyrics, high in awesome!
Got fucking goosebumbs from this, good job sir!
This Song is AMAZING 😀
Wow this is amazing.
So relaxing, calm, beautiful, splendid, wonderful, deep... This song just got deep into my soul, I just cried ;), describes Wasteland perfectly.
Waitwaitwait.
"Sterile soil will harden. Wasted world, my garden."
...
'Some Things Never Change'
"Sterile soil will harden. Wasted world, my garden."
Is it plagiarism if you steal from yourself?
no, not plagiarism, just refferancing.
You realize that was a rhetorical question in jest, right? I'm an author, I know full well the definition of plagiarism, and that this isn't plagiarism.
Given that the internet is full of idiots an people who honestly could ask that question and mean it, I didnt realize that you meant it in jest.
Vincent Montgomery This is true.
This reminds me of "Don't Get Lost in Heaven."
Bloody Awesom!
I loved this game it was very
@miracleofsound YES! BIG UP TO THE 360!
just went to death valley, thought of this song, ty gavin.
Believe it or not, this song really inspired my composition style ten years ago
I had the same experience with distant honor
@Imnotscottishable Nah, it's just me singing low!
Im putting this in my game as music :D
@PVTMTA Nope, that one is called Wasteland Soul :)
