    Man I wish I would have seen this video before I went through this one tuner. Great info and know. I just delt with a tuner and dam their attitude is like, dude its straight forward and they don't answer their phones and emails are a little condescending. Hell I'd rather listen to your content than some of the popular ones. Just like someone said, you should have a lot more subscribers. SMH As for who my current tuner is I feel like I am at their mercy being they are writing the tunes for my truck LOL. If I decide to go a different route I will get with you for sure. I just spent @ 5-600 with the tune, unlocking & licensing (which I had questions and I was treated like you dont need to know that). They freaking reduced my MAX VINs from 600 to 20 Geez SMH. Anyhow great content and I'll work on sharing it and definitely have a new subscriber.

    Hey man,
    I hope you're the guy that can logically and rationally answer my question.
    So here's the thing. I'm getting a 2022 powerstroke and am seriously considering deleting it. My sole purpose for doing the delete is not performance nor power increase. I'm considering it for the longevity of my engine and better overall maintenance of the truck as it no longer needs to recirculate any exhaust gases let alone doing unnecessary regen cycles whenever it needs to, etc... Better fuel mileage and unrestricted power boost is a bonus I won't turn away either. In other, pros outweigh the cons by a clear 10 mile stretch...
    My only concern is if I got the delete done the proper way thru a professional that really knows what they are doing, am I still taking a risk on deleting emissions as far as the operation of truck being "modified" vs "stock" or it will run a 100% like stock minus a few hundreds of pound of dead weight? There's more to it than delete and tune. If calibrations aren't properly taken into consideration the compression ratios aren't changed, the temperatures aren't dropped, and the engine timing isn't altered then I maybe better off keep my emissions.
    You hear and read a lot of reviews about people running into issues caused by deletes even when it was done proper as those trucks specially the newer ones are designed and engineered to run with emissions and the moment you mess with them, they will cause issues whether that is momentarily or down the road. I reached out to a few local mechanics and they all said they have seen the good, bad, and the ugly, deleted trucks may cause issues and fail at higher altitudes so I'm kinda stuck in a rut here so I'd ask you as someone who's been there and has a better sense of knowledge of this transition.
    Terribly sorry for the long write-up but I think we have all gone thru this phase of due diligence.
    Thanks again!

      You can't tune the 22s yet and there is no ETA on when you'll be able to. With that said I personally don't think it's really worth tuning unless you want more power. The stock emissions control stuff is very good and will last a long time, unless you do a lot of idling around, there will not be a huge mileage increase or some miraculous engine improvement vs stock. Also the tune doesn't need a lot of changing from stock to non like someone would think because of lessening EGR like on a gas engine. Your oil how ever will stay cleaner when light weight vs not and some slight wear acceleration does come from higher engine oil soot load from EGR. But EGR actually helps with cold weather starts by pre-heating the incoming air some, thus improving complete fuel combustion and lessening fuel/oil dilution This also helps cold engine throttle response as well. No tuner i know will tell you that either. I don't always like smelling the diesel exhaust tbh but the engine sound alone is worth it to me. Just FYI you can't change compression ratios with tuning. That is set in stone once the engine is assembled. Diesel engines move all the air all the time, you're just replacing the available space with exhaust gas vs fresh air and thus total compression heat generated, "all diesel's really care about" stays very similar and thus big tuning changes are not required. If i had to guess it'd be under 1% efficiency from egr to non tuning changes. Ford's factory calibrations are way better than most other manufactures IMO. If you're on the fence at all, all I can say is to stay stock for at least the first 10-15k miles to make sure your truck has no issues. If i could graph the rate of part failure on here, it is extremely high in the first 3k miles and after that it drops rapidly to about 10k and stays very low from there until about 100k miles at which point it slowly starts going up again.

    I think you're a pioneer for this industry. I feel that diesel tuning is a largely untapped market, at least compared to gasoline tuning. In the gas world there are so many different companies that offer both Dyno tunes and street datalogging tunes. If you keep at this, I think you can really be successful.

    • @JaegerWrenching
      @JaegerWrenching  4 года назад +3

      I hope so, this industry is great and i love learning more and sharing the knowledge. The sad truth is by doing this and making videos about tuning i feel as though a lot of people will refuse to work with me and almost blacklist me. All because they think i'd be giving out "trade secrets". Firepunk diesel does a great job of dispelling that myth.

    what is best afr for turbo diesel for power and safety? plz mate

    • @JaegerWrenching
      @JaegerWrenching  4 года назад

      That's a very loaded question as many things apply to what your AFR should be. When it comes to making power more fuel usually equals more power, but Unlike gas vehicle operation there isn't the chance for detonation, and we are not trying to prevent detonation by richening the AFR like you would in gas engine operation for stability. Your biggest worry sum thing with a diesel engine is your injection timing being too advanced causing peak cylinder pressure to occur BTDC and becoming too high and either lifting a head or damaging other parts like rods or pistons. Diesels run extremely "lean" compared to a gas engine especially during cruising and part throttle, but there isn't such a thing as "Lean" in a diesel but rather the minimum fuel amount to achieve our power goals/requirements. You want to be as lean as you can while still achieving your power goals/ throttle feel. EGTs are the number two thing to look at after peak cylinder pressure. Just know as we get close to 1.0 lambda smoke will start coming out of the tail pipe. But just like a gas engine we make peak power just over that 1.0 lambda, but unlike a gas we don't need to get into the 12.0 AFR range to get that air mixture stable because we want it unstable, that's how we extract the most power out of our fuel. We just go a touch over 1.0 lambda 13.0-14.0 to ensure we burn all the air in the cylinder. Just because we have a lambda of 1.0 doesn't mean all of the fuel will have mixed properly with all of the air.

      If you got nothing from it you should not get into tuning. You are the type of person who would watch my video showing you exactly how I tune, yet you would still ask for more or say you don't understand X, Y, or Z... I didn't make any more videos because I weighed the benefits and realized I'd be inundated with questions from guys like you who bought software, tried tuning, and now can't get done what they thought they were smart enough to get done. Remember I don't owe you anything, including this video. There is no easy button for tuning, and there are many resources online including the HPTuners forum where I have laid out a lot of actual tuning info on there. If you are mad about me speaking facts about tuning in a completely free video, I can't imagine how angry you'd be if you'd spent money and still were not happy.... You literally proved my theory....

      @@JaegerWrenching lol 1st of all; I'm not mad 😂 2nd, I do my own tuning and am mostly self taught. The reason I said I got nothing from this video is because you ramble on about mostly irrelevant stuff. If someone really needs to know that an engine has valve covers and shit they definitely shouldn't be near a tuning program. I came looking for actual useable info about tuning a 6.7 and there's LITERALLY ZERO. Sorry you were so offended by me stating my opinion. You know what else is my opinion??? The way you ramble on & on without actually saying anything suggests you're on drugs. You were wise decide not to make more videos if you're that fragile.
