that's not even true at least for the first half, from what I saw there, USA had good ball movement, they had Pops and Brown as coaches. But nothing was falling in, you gotta credit Argentina's defense for sure. Every shot was contested.

Then why did they lose 2 times in the group stage? They lost to Spain 76-87! And they lost to Italy 75-76! The USA never lost any group games or k.o. games previous to 2004! And that's why they were so great as well! But c'mon be serious here..The 2004 USA team wasn't even good! They lost 3 games! And they didn't even have any NBA players that were in the nba finals! The 2 teams in the NBA finals were the Pistons & Lakers & there were zero of those players playing for the 2004 olympics team! But the best player in the world (Kobe) did play in 2008 and what happened? Argentina lost 101-81😱If they were an actual "Nightmare Team"? Then they would have won in 2008 when the USA had it's great player's playing? But they didn't 😂

Ese día a la mañana ganamos el oro en fútbol, el gran título que le faltaba a la Selección Argentina. Fueron las dos primeras medallas de oro, en cualquier deporte, desde 1952. Posiblemente el mejor día en la historia del deporte argentino junto con las dos finales de Mundiales de fútbol ganadas.

A Pekin 2008 los norteamericanos todavia humillados por la derrota Argentina de 2004 trajeron a todas las estrellas NBA obligadas y sin excepcion y aun asi perdimos solo de 10 puntos, en Londres 2012 aun con miedo en el cuerpo trajeron a la quinta flota sin ausencias y fueron perdiendo todo el partido, ganando al final solo de 7 puntos.
Nosotros no lo conseguimos, pero los hermanos Argentinos si, Enhorabuena !.
Otra vez han vuelto a relajarse y hoy en el mundial de China 2019, Francia les ha echado a la calle de 10 puntos al quinto puesto.
A la proxima volveran otra vez a la carga con los buenos.

Argentina played excellent in that game, and the players of the United States were frustrated by not being able to develop their game and be always overcome by the Argentines. That made the Americans violently against the Argentine players. That was how Oberto's hand was fractured and Wolkowysky was severely beaten in the face. The American players had a real basketball lesson.
Great great team, well deserved to win gold.
By the way, Lithuania was so happy after Argentina went to finals as we thought gold will be much easier to get now. nobody was counting on Italy LOL
These Olympics will always be as one of the best basketball wise. so many good teams and awesome players.

I´m from Argentina and played basketball 14 years, born in the 80s I grew up admiring and loving the NBA, specially Jordan´s Bulls, when I remember this Argentinean team I feel the same as I felt with MJ´s Bulls or the Spurs with Manu, Tim and Tony. I miss those teams :)

Entrar de sexto hombre no significa ser el sexto mejor, entraba desde la banca para cambiar ritmo del partido, la intensidad o para anotar cuando su equipo estaba atascado en momentos específicos. Y a pesar de salir de la banca jugaba los minutos finales para cerrar los partidos.

Argentina proved just how important teamwork is. On the surface, of course the United States is better. However, a team of all-stars is not going to cut it if they are playing like individuals.

Le duela a quien le duela, Manu ha sido el mejor jugador de los San Antonio Spurs y de los mejores jugadores que han existido en la historia de la NBA y no precisamente Tim Duncan. Si hubiera sido titular y hubiera jugado más minutos sería obviamente no solo el mejor anotador por mucho de los San Antonio Spurs, sino de los mejores anotadores de la liga, así de sencillo. Lo mejor de todo es que adicional a ello era un gran defensivo y un gran asistidor. Mis respetos, nadie como el. Fue el jugador más humilde, aceptando un rol que no le correspondía debido a que siempre fue una estrella para todos, pero Pop no se lo permitió y los motivos hasta la fecha se desconocen. Simplemente creo que Pop por sus propios intereses no quiso que el argentino brillara. Aún así todo el mundo lo respeta como la gran estrella clutch y me atrevo a decir que pudo haber sido en varias ocasiones el mejor anotador de toda la liga. Te apreciamos y mereces estás palabras de tu servidor por qué soy una persona observadora y analítica. Te queremos Manu, gracias por todo lo que nos diste con tu gran talento y magia en la NBA.
