The Gold Medal Game duh.....whats takin so long?
Still waitin on that Dream Team gold medal game
Vince Carter’s “Dunk of Death” is not only the best Olympic game dunk, but the best in game dunk that has ever happened. I don’t think there will EVER be a dunk greater than that!

31 years later, unarguably the greatest Basketball team ever to play the game, greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
30 years later and I still got excited watching the game.
Magic hook shot Birds reaction priceless. The 2 players that saved Basketball and made it really fun to watch again.
So true, before they came in the finals were on tape delay, how crazy it that ? Bird and Johnson saved the game and Jordan took it to a whole new level.
The hard truth is that NBA was only 3th most popular sport in the USA in the 1980s-1992! NFL football MLB baseball were much more popular! World Series baseball have twice two time bigger tv ratings than NBA finals!

Bird starting with the psychological warfare at 27:04
Led to a 30 second shot clock violation
33:33 Ewing threw that dude, and Barkley got up to shout "stay down". LOL the disrespect XD
😂 ☠️ That was classic.
I was blessed to be alive during that time and was young enough to enjoy a game like this. It was truly the dream team, these guys play with a sense of synchrony. This is no doubt the Best Olympic of all times. I don't think we will ever see another setup like this one.
Can we please appreciate how well the Lithuanian team was moving the ball?
There has never been a player like Larry Bird. He does everything at the highest level ever and he is only one player, older and hurt. He iwas the magicman.
39:13 Larry was ahead of his time
😂😂🤣🤣
love how he was so epic. so iconic.
I was often times annoyed that the scoreboard wasn't always visible... then I realized this was Dream Team 1 and the score doesn't matter.
No need for scoreboard when you are against the Dream Team. Guarantee a lost if you go up against them. lol
Bird‘s passing is amazing👍👍
In my unpopular opinion, he’s as good of a passer as anyone who has played the game.
Bird IMO is the most skilled player of all time.
This definitely the best basketball team ever assembled in life
Shaq over Christian Laettner would have made it even crazier
Bird was a special player he made everyone else on the floor better it showed this game
He didn't even get out of the game with a cut on his knee. Playing on like it was nothing... that's what a real basketball player looks like.
Sabonis gave it his ALL In this game. that back 2 back block on David Robinson was pretty impressive
Larry's passing was on a different level.
What a game! To see the American team play against Sabonis and Marčiulionis was amazing!
Sabonis did really well for that game also. He went toe to toe with Robinson for a while.
@@finalxgohan1which goes to show what could’ve been had Sabonis come to the NBA sooner
Me watching the game: "Ha! Jordan just got blocked by some random tall dude who wasn't even an NBA player."
Me, after seeing a close-up: "Oh wait... that's freaking Sabonis! Pre-NBA and in his prime! No wonder he was able to block Jordan!"
There was another block from the random guy number 10. Stop sucking MJs nuts too much smh
The 1992 Dream Team was historic. You had Magic, Bird and Jordan on one team, three generations of all time great players. And those playesr came up when basketball was a much more physical and intense game. Some of the players today are great, like Durant who is a lethal player in international competition, but it is not the same thing. They just don't have the same pedigree.
Bird and Magic were the same generation.
Even MJ is the Same Generation. Larry is 3 years older than magic and 6 years older than MJ. For me thats not a "new" Generation.
Thats like 6 years between kobe and lebron.
Basketball was more primitive back then. More physically intense tends to imply less reliance on skill (which was the case). Players today need to rely more on skill than simply barreling through to get past defence.
@@johnnyhammerWho cares. Always one know it all

#11 Lithuania. Three blocks in 30 seconds!
@@dancalkins97 sabonis.... worst match ever

Fascinating to watch this 30+ years later, as an adult, noticing things that never registered back when I was watching it as kid. Like the extent to which Sabonis or Kurtinaitis just could not buy a bucket.
Barkley said "Welcome to the NBA, Arvydis"! 😂
Top USA stats vs. Lithuania:
Jordan 21 pts, 4 ast, 6 stl
Malone 18 pts, 7 reb
Johnson 14 pts, 8 ast, 3 stl
Robinson 13 pts, 8 reb, 2 blk
Bird 10 pts, 6 reb, 6 ast
4 others with 10+ pts
3:53 Coach and staffs be like: “Oh, they are giving us nice caps.. hmmm.. give them your banners.. wakeke”
59:30 Marčiulionis with a nice bucket after MJ yells I GOT HIM!
David Robinson is too nice not to catch someone when they're falling 55:30
MJ’s perimeter defense is so exceptional in this game. So fundamentally sound with his stance and hands on the passing lanes. He’s the best offensive and defensive player on this dream team. 21 points 4 steals!
It was fantastic! Sure for all the international teams must have been an honour to play v.s the Dream Team: for me the image of the Lithuanian player on the sideline with his camera says it all.
i think lithuania was the best team the dream team faced in the olympics
Jordan’s defence on player no.13 was so effective , he couldn’t do much when Jordan was on him
Sarunas marceliunis is a fiba hall of famer... play in the nba is one of the greatest european player...but jordan is too much jordan
Jordan averaged 4,1 steals in the 1992 Olympics. In 23 mintutes/game.
Marciulionis was a great scorer, even in the NBA. He and Dragan Petrovic were the first east Europeans to succeed in the NBA.
Thank you for these uploads. I’ve been rewatching all the games.
At the end of Olympics they should of had dream team split up into teams and played . MJ, Pippen, Barkley, Bird, Laetner ,and Ewing vs Magic, Stockton, Drexler, Mullin, Malone, and Robinson. What a game that wud of been
this is the best U.S.A Mens basketball team ever this stars make NBA famous entire world
Yo soy de Corea del Sur
Not just Usa Like entire worlds best team of all time and it was Unfait Lithuania as poor wasnt in nato Or eu It was independent just for 1 year at that poin they had no money and they you kwon had a choice of 3 mil people To choose team while usa had atleast population of a few hundread million sooo yeah
@@cepekas4189: That is a fair argument but what is the US supposed to do about that are they supposed to handicap themselves and bring themselves down to their opponents level? Now that would just be ridiculous. It's the Olympics you are supposed to gather the best team you possibly can and that is exactly what the US did there is nothing unfair about that.
@@tommyhallum2054 Its a fair argument i give up but there is a chance that i come back and write so bullshit

Dream team and the other dream team. American and Lietuva one. Legendary event.
I love the way the Spanish PA announcer pronounced Christian Laettner's name.
Era mi tío Manolo el speaker del partido. Un grande
I love Larry BIRD'S jump shot, he brings the ball all the way back to his ear and lunches a all net jump shot, his form is faultless.
To show you where, when and how I grew up: Born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American. I grew up watching Sarunas Marciulionis play. I shot Sarunas Marciulionis 17-footers. Say it: Mar-see-UH-Lee-OH-nis!
quien ve esto hoy Agosto 2021? para que reniega el técnico de Lituania , , a este Dream Team, ni en sueños se le podria ganar !! jordan, Magig, drexler, Bird, pipen, Malone , Barkly, uuu una pesadilla todos!!!

Rimas Kurtinaitis, Toni Kucoc, Predlog Danilovic, Vlade Divac, Sarunas Marciulionis, Atruras Karnisovas, Epi,
Dino Radja and Detlef Schrempf.

Bird and Stockton together in the same team are illegal!
33:32: Priceless Patrick Ewing, and Barkley with the final insult.
You saw that too huh? lol today's basketball it would have been a flagrant foul. That was just a "hello, how are you doing?" foul.
Shout out to the best team ever assembled my hat is off for the goats 🐐
lord have mercy, i outdid myself with that home made hotsauce this time, its gonna hurt TWICE
What’s really crazy about this dream team was Larry Bird went on to coach Chris Mullin. 😅
Plus Malone/Stockton/Jordan for obvious reasons.
Let it be known that Sir Charles of the Barkley hit a SOLID step back 3 at 24:44
Semi solid
The Pass to MJ at 55:52 was Exceptional, Love Sir Charles!
El equipo mas hermoso de todos los tiempos. Basquetbol sublime. Competidores clase estelar en la misma sintonía.
Así es 👏👏

Larry Bird: "WAH!"
hahahaahahahah
Even Chuck was making spin moves on the basket 🤣🍺.
Of all the dream teams, the original played the best D. It's hard to score on them. MJ was the most active defender among all dream members.
What are you talking about? Those teams were mesmerized and were obviously intimidated to Nba players let alone the Dream Team. Once that intimidation was gone and the "new" bar for Olympics basketball was set... international teams have improved their talents exponentially and even now we even have 4 of the top 10 players in the world are international players. Giannis, Luka, Jokic and Embiid.
@@dobz746hat are u talkijg about? Those 4 "top" international players u quote are from the current era of soft nba. Gather this 4 players u mentioned, throw in wenbayama.. STiLL will not beat 92 dream team, not even close.

@@johnnyhammer I don't hear people talk about his defense much

Of course the USA offense was exceptional. It was incredible how much superior the USA defense was stripping away balls and rebounding like no tomorrow
thats because LTU took that game as a practice for upcoming bronze...no one believed they can win that game, so they didnt even try.. even so they were the team that lost the least amount of points
DREAM TEAM inspired the world of basketball impacted internationally.

I've seen more hookshots the first half than I have seen in the last 10 NBA season combined lol
still imagine what if Sabonis entered nba in his prime

Dream Team the best basketball team ever assembled period
I love and respect all the players who played in 1992 Barcelona - Especially love the round mound of rebound... ;) Much Love & Respect
Barkley was great
Amazing to watch. The Americans played unselfish ball and both ends of the court. It must have been overwhelming for the Lithuanians. Especially at the end of the game. You could see they were exhausted while the Americans looked fresh and tight.
I was at the game. It was surreal. Religious experience
@@bellazoe1 - I'm so jealous dude. That's a death bed remembrance.
@@no-bozos 100pct yes. Religious. I’ll never forget every moment.
Thats because game play never dropped...The US could substitute 5 NBA hall of famers for 5 fresh NBA hall of famers..
Our depth and fitness were unmatched, but what made the US truly special was their competitive nature. They played hard from buzzer to buzzer l
Looked like a young Donnie Nelson on Lithuania’s bench.
because it is Donnie Nelson (assistant coach for Lithuania)
when you think about it, lithuania is playing like today's nba, mostly perimeter movement just without that fancy dribbling. Everything is fundamentally sound and their shots were just not falling
Hello people in the future
Daly looks like a capo from the local crime family as he walks off the ct and the end of the game.
I think Bird and Ewing or Bird and Stockton on the Celtics would have been scary in the NBA. They have great Chemistry.
That is why it is such a joy to watch these games. The beauty of how they play together vs when they were opponents. Smooth, unselfish. The US team has a smoothness that the other teams don't. THANK YOU to whoever posted this.
I don't know about you but I watched this with so many blackouts is it my computer or the upload is bad
its not you its in the recording itself
If I remember well, it was really hot in barcelona and the tv guys had some hard time to keep everything cool. That's why there are some blackouts.
Thank you for no commentary 🤩.
En estas olimpiadas los equipos de cualquier pais no les importaba perder se conformaban jugar con los grandes del baloncesto
They was balling they enjoyed every min of tha Olympus
Best part about this for me is no obnoxious commentators like Marv "Ear Licker" Albert
Dream team indeed!
Chomicius,Sabonis,Marciulionis,Kurtinaitis were big stars in Soviet Lithuania, and weird how Magic got bigger pop than MJ
It’s 1992. Magic had 5 rings. Mj had zero
@@cabriskus4700 MJ had 2 and was the reigning 2X NBA finals mvp and league MVP
Magic was still more popular then. He was more beloved.
Sabonis very young B4 he was in NBA. Great European player
In 1988 several of these same players were members of the USSR team that beat the USA in Korea. Looking at it now, they looked very intimidated. The USA was of course much better but Lithuania was better than they showed here.
That American team was just college kids tho
Don't forget, the USSR team had a lot of help from the refs. Just watch the replay.
The Soviet team was largely professional, playing against college kids, and had very favorable officiating. Those Soviet leftovers had no idea what was heading their way in '92
@@44danielson Robinson, Richmond, Majerle, Manning were among these college kids. Not a bad team, huh?
The Dream team players were all NBA top 50 members (minus Lattener); the 1988 players were marginal allstars (minus Robinson).
What tall front court, that Transition Game was LETHAL.
All that lead yet Coach Chuck Daly seems not yet happy😅
And Laettner too. I expect he felt a lot of eyes were on him, as the ensuing decades of comments have sadly confirmed.
Thats cuz he took a beating at the black jack table the night before
@@marcuscrowley6496In fairness Laettner played for some really, really bad organizations.
1:13:55 it bounces off the ref and they just play it lol
Well, eventually in 2004, LTU won against the USA.
Beating them was almost impossible, they would win usually by 35 to 40 points
Try the ti beat the U.S now
They won the prelim game, the USA beat them in the bronze game, and has beaten them every game since then too. Don't forget Puerto Rico, Italy, and Argentina beat the 2004 team. It wasn't our best team. Lebron, Wade, and Melo were all rookies. Shaq, Garnett, and Kobe didn't play. I mean it tells you something when they lost to Puerto Rico by 19 points. That team practiced for only 3 weeks and had no chemistry. Then we got serious
Are u American
@@tonyiacomi4822 What ever the reason it was, USA still played against a country of 3 million. In 2000s semi finals usa won by 2 points in 2004 first game by 4 for 3rd place by 8 2012 games usa won by 5. As a country that has the best players, the best league, the best coaches, the best training facilities and a huge population should dominate 3 million population country by 50 minimum everytime
Sabonis was a beast back then...
Lithuania, newly independent from the Soviet Union, almost couldn't compete because they could not afford uniforms. That is... until the Grateful Dead stepped in to finance them!!!
Marciulonus if he was American would've been a great at American football or baseball. Dude was a pure athlete who didn't back down or quit.
I didn't know, but he was Mr. Basketball in Lithuania and even played several years in the NBA. I paused the game to look his # up, because he was very noticable.
I remember his nickname when he was playing in the nba was "the human karate chop!"
Would have been fun watching a young Shaq out here runnin the floor and dunking on everyone. I suppose Laetner was deserving but the team certainly had more minutes available for a third team center than another forward....where no team could possibly be more loaded.
Magic in a defensive stance. Shuffling his feet. Back-peddling on his toes, and not his heels? Rarely saw that much attention to defense in a Lakers uniform...
The grateful dead sponsored the Lithuanian team to go to the Olympics this year i believe..a blessing and a curse having to go up against this team lol.
The Admiral over Sabonis led group this time. It was the Lithuanians who made the Soviets a power in the 80s
21:01 minute mark: Magic Johnson with step-back 3-pointer. Barkely with the same @ the 24:45 minute mark.
No "Magic Three Seconds" in this game!!!! Lol!!!!!
Back when the big men dominated the middle. Back when there were no free layups
Except for Christian Latener, everyone on that team was a hall of famer.
