Dark matter is the truly enigmatic one, at least to my layman idiot mind. Something with mass that is essentially invisible to our perception and instrumentation.. yet must exist to account for certain galaxies, etc to distort space-time as observed!
Dark energy and its ramifications are much more interesting, but I can more readily buy that it is an intrinsic property or characteristic of space-time itself..
